In all honesty, I truly did not want to leave a bad review because this isn't my first time trusting Primrose Tailor with my garments. The first time, I sent my Bridesmaid dress to be hemmed and Soo did a fantastic job and completed it before the initial pick-up date. All the ladies & the gentlemen are friendly & welcoming. So because of my positive experience, I recently went in because my husband needed his new dress pants to be hemmed, and I decided to tag along and have a few of my newer pieces to be fixed as well. My husband decided he was going to pick up the clothes since I was too occupied to do so. I handed him the receipt and he scurried away. After coming home, he hands me my 3 pants and boy was I upset. 2 out of the 3 pants were mine but he came home with someone else's pants and Soo was unable to find my pants. Do yourself a favor and take pictures of what you are dropping off with the receipt that they give you. They kept my receipt and I was not able to verify besides my bank statement of the payment. read more

They completely ruined the pair of jeans that I dropped off to get hemmed. The jeans had a design element on the bottom which I repeatedly told them to keep but they did not. I now have to purchase a new pair. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

Gave them two weeks to hem three pairs of pants. Called to ask if they were ready the day they said they would be, they said yes. Picked up the pants and brought them home and only 1 of 3 had been hemmed! One still had a pin in the pockets they were supposed to remove. read more

The name of this place is deceiving, just because they're called "Tailor CLEANERS" doesn't mean they do a mediocre job of tailoring, at least not from my 1 experience so far. I know they do an excellent job with original hemming. I really appreciate that they're open until 6pm, so you can actually make it there after work. Anna, one of the ladies there, is super sincere and cheerful. I definitely know that I can trust her with original hem, she did an awesome with one of my shorts that had a special hem...or if it wasn't her, whoever did it was skilled! $25 for a great job on an original hem $12 for regular hem for jeans So far I'm pleased and will take more of my things here in the future. read more

I've always had good experiences here. Soo is a real friendly lady, the Korean grandma I never had. My 4 stars are for dry-cleaning as I've not had any alterations, but the dry cleaning comes back well done and on time. Soo is always amenable to taking care of minor fixes - a hole in my shirt, or a stray button (caused by me). Prices are competitive (unlike others in the area) and it's service with a smile. First of all, I resent that my husband got the "First to Review" on this one since I've been using Primrose Tailor for 7 years now and he only recently married into the Circle of Trust. What a weasel. Also, sweetie, please learn to spell Soo's name. Okay, now that I've got that out of the way...I also need to clear up any confusion caused by the name of the shop. Primrose Tailor can meet both your tailoring AND YOUR DRY CLEANING needs. So send your laundry thisaway. And now let me rave about Soo, the proprietor of this little establishment. She always delivers the goods on time and has competitive prices. But the best part of Soo is that she's like the Chinese aunties I grew up with, well except that she's Korean: 1) She will scold me for wasting money. I've brought many a garment in for drycleaning, only to have her tell me that I can handwash it at home and save a couple of bucks. Soo will then give me detailed care instructions along with a few "tsk tsks." 2) She keeps me looking good. Not just by making sure my garments are clean and well tailored, but also by noting when I've gained weight. Beware of letting Soo take your waist or hip measurements if you don't take constructive criticism well. 3) Soo just got a computerized system to record your order. Sometimes the technology overwhelms her. If you notice her struggling with the machine, gently show her how to turn off the caps lock. 4) This is someone who cares about her customers. Soo was only slightly less concerned than my own father when I was still unmarried at 27. She nearly burst with pride when I finally told her I was engaged. Now she wants to know when I'm having babies. After weekly visits over 7 years, Soo is like family. Family who can't get my name right--she heartily greets me as "Theresa" each time I enter the shop. read more

DO NOT HAVE YOUR SUITS ALTERED HERE! I brought a suit in for alterations and unfortunately they do not know how to do suit alterations. I had asked the suit be taken in however when I picked up the suit it was still too big. First she said it looked big then she said it looks perfect. Then she it would be another $55 to fix it. She asked if I had any suggestions on how she should fix it. I just left and will have someone else fix it. I am sure they do a good in cleaning but do not bring in your alterations. read more

Soo and her family are very nice people. My family takes all of our dry cleaning here, and she always goes out of her way to ask how my kids are doing. They do a great job, the prices are reasonable, and they've never lost any of our items. WHY is there not more reviews for this hidden gem?? I LOVED Primrose Tailor Cleaners. Sue is sooo sweet also. I've been to another tailor shop in burlingame before and I have to say Primrose has better service and very reasonably priced. I also have to say. I needed a dress resized.. brought it in tuesday. ... and she was able to fix it for me by FRIDAY noon pick up. What's even better is that they wanted to fit me thursday to make sure everything fit perfectly. She's great! Go to this place! read more

I saw other good reviews for this place, but wasn't as lucky. The tailor I had was an older guy with only the most basic English, which is fine except he didn't understand me and I ended up having to write things down. I asked for the original hem on a new pair of jeans, he complained about it (that should have been hint #1 to high tail it out of there). I went to pick them up a week later and there they were...practically capri pants! He cut them so short, they're unusable. They were fine where he pinned them, but that's obviously not where he cut them, so bye-bye nice jeans +$20 more for the butchered tailoring job. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! I would give zero stars if I could. They screwed up and hemmed my pants way too short. When I went in to see if they could fix the work, the owner, Sue blamed me for the pants turning out too short. She said "you customer have to decide what length you want." I came in with one dress and right away I was being treated like I was bothering them. I am still a customer so it shouldn't matter if I am only going to spend $10.00. Everyone looked pissed and tired. I have worked in customer service and you never show the customer that. You suck it up and take one for the team. I gave the lady all my info since I was a new customer and then proceeded to pay her. She took my money with a grunt and gave me a receipt. I came back the next day to pick up my dress and she looked at me and asked me to pay. I told her that I payed already. She then started telling me my receipt should have a stamp on it and it doesnt......blah blah blah. This went on for 10 minutes. At first I was very calm and polite and then I told her I am new I don't know the policy but I PAYED. She told me next time make sure I get my ticket stamped. Are you serious? I try not to write a bad review but sometimes the behavior of an owner or their employees gives me an allowance to warn others. I have been a customer of primrose cleaners for over 3 years, I will always pick up and drop off a few times a month, sometimes I have forgotten my wallet when running in and Always pay my balance upon next pick up. Today when I went into pick up I gave my debit card and she gave me a much larger balance than I owed . I had my balance on my pick up reciept as I showed it to one of the ladies she began raising her voice and calling her employee over I was mortified! The other women told me that un till I could bring in proof I paid my balance she would not release my clothes, actually holding my garments hostage! Also to add insult to injury the owner gave me back my items to be dry cleaned and told me to iron them myself ?? Are you kidding me? I have never been treated with such disrespect and aggressive behavior. This review is meant to make anyone think twice before using this business for anything!! I've been going to Sue for years. Since I'm short I'm very experienced w/ pant hemming and know a good job when I see one. Even my fiance was impressed when I brought his jeans back. She does a very clean job on the original hem on jeans. You can barely tell that they've been cut (even on the underside). Her prices are a bit more than usual ($20 to keep original hem) but after some bad experiences elsewhere I will always return to Sue now! I've also had things drycleaned there. It's outsourced, but the one time I had an issue with a cleaning job Sue sent it back right away no question. read more

I've been going to Soo for over 10 years. Even when I lived in Mountain View, I went to Soo. You do have to be clear what you want as she likes hems shorter and waists smaller than I do, but as long as I am clear, I get what I want. I do a lot of my own work, and the quality of Soo's work is phenomenal. Even when I suggest she take a short-cut, she refuses. When I don't go for a year, she remembers me. And she is very happy to do a rush job now and again if I am desperate. I have tried other tailors in the Bay Area, and I have always been disappointed. Soo is the best. read more
