I've used Adary Electric multiple times now at my home in Redwood City and both times Victor has been outstanding. First visit, he troubleshot a closet light that had lost its neutral behind a ceiling fan, tracked it down and reconnected it. He also diagnosed a dead 3-way switch in the hallway -- turned out the prior electrician had wired it wrong on a single pole -- and converted it properly to a 3-way. Knocked out a kitchen can light switch while he was at it. All done in about an hour. No other electrician was able to figure it out the closet light kerfuffle, but Victor did! Turns out he has nearly 30 years of experience! Second visit, Victor and Francisco came out to remove a 6" recessed can light and splice onto the switch leg to power a new ceiling fan I'd had installed. Clean work, everything labeled, no loose ends. Done in about 2.5 hours. Rates are fair ($125/hr), they show up when they say they will, and Victor clearly knows residential electrical inside and out -- he doesn't guess, he diagnoses. Asked for an inspection and report as requested by my insurance company, and read from the letter I'd received from them. Instead they came out, said they couldn't tell the condition of wiring in the attic, charged hundreds of dollars to simply note location of outlets, switches and lighting fixtures, information I could have provided over the phone. They told me nothing about the condition of the wiring, just saying everything would need everything replaced for over $60,000. They said they don't patch holes or repair any damage caused by rewiring--that's up to the homeowner--and also that attic insulation would have to be completely removed, also the homeowner's responsibility. An extremely disappointing experience. They just say they "know" because of their experience, but can't say how or why. They aren't good for large, complex projects. read more

Adary Electric and their staff are a class act. We sought proposals to upgrade our outlets and install a dedicated circuit and outlet to charge an electric vehicle. Adary was the only company we called who did a thorough and convenient FaceTime assessment. Other companies had me send photos and videos with a lot of back and forth emails. We appreciated Adary's recommendation to get a permit and they offered compelling reasons to do that. The other companies did not include permits in their proposals. Adary's proposal was the most thorough and Shai, our point of contact throughout, was always very responsive, friendly, thorough, and helpful. On the day of the installation, Victor was the electrician. He was friendly, thorough, and meticulous. He discussed with me different locations for the charger outlet and explained how things would appear before proceeding. The work was very cleanly done with no patching up or painting needed. Victor went above and beyond. He pointed out that some of the circuits were incorrectly labeled. So, he relabeled them. I hired Adary once back in 2023 to replace a chandelier and install a pendant light on one of the bedrooms. They did a fantastic job. I tried hiring them again 2024 but the quote doubled for the same work in our other kids bedroom (bedrooms are exact copies of each other). The second time the quote per bedroom breakdown was about double. I know the labor rate has gone up (which they confirmed to be about 20%). Their quoting policy seems to be all over the place so unfortunately did not hire the second time around read more

Had them inspect an outlet that was malfunctioning, they had me troubleshoot it before having them come out (honest business, didn't want to charge me to come out if it wasn't actually the outlet). Well, it ended up being the outlet and Marcie was very quick to respond and schedule their technician Rigo to drop by and take a look. Rigo was quick with the troubleshoot and replaced the outlet. The Good: Service with Victor Victor came on "estimate" day to get an idea of what needed to be done to install a video doorbell camera and floodlight for the backdoor. I ended up not needing setup for the doorbell, so only the camera with floodlight was setup. He did the job well in about 1.5 hrs, which is what I expected. The Bad: Customer Service and Scheduling I originally messaged the business to get a quote and estimate for how much the job would cost. My misunderstanding that when they come to give an estimate, they actually charge by the hour instead of it being a 5-10 min visit like other companies. I obliged to pay Victor for the visit, but was not expecting to. Scheduling for the actual job was a fiasco. I was looking to schedule a late morning appt, but could not be promised a time frame as they seem to schedule jobs after each other rather than by time. I chose to do an 8 am for a more guaranteed time per Marcie. Come day of appt (Tue, Sep 6 as noted in the screenshot), I hadn't heard from Victor by 8:15 so I sent a message and called at 8:30. I'm guessing Nadav answered, but he said that my appt was for Wed, Sep 7. Instead of apologizing for the scheduling error, he said that they get a lot of inquiries on Yelp so they get mixed up and they prefer to call for established customers. They never notified me of that. Ok so now it's Wed at 8 am (also in screenshot) and Victor still has not shown up by 8:35 am. I called and said that if he did not show up by 8:45, then I would have to cancel the appt. Victor got here at 8:44. So much for a guaranteed time. read more

They answer the phone, they arrive on time, their electricians are professional and super fast and really, really damn good at their jobs. We needed a set of recessed flouro lights replaced with something better, and I contacted Adary Electric after finding them here on Yelp. I sent some pictures and described the issue. Nadav called me back in the evening, which was a nice surprise, we discussed what could be done, and he was able to send Victor out the next morning.
