The worst part is that the staff is just extremely uncaring. I think that even the managers have an issue with the customers for some reason. I have been to Addie's once before when they were at their previous location and really enjoyed the service and the food. However, my experience today was less than ideal. I am leaving disappointed. Overall, the food was ok (this is based off of everyone else's food - not mine) and the service was terrible. I went to meet up with friends who were already there. As I was walking up the waitress was leaving with their order, which is fine however it took her about another 10 minutes to come back out. At that time she looked at me and said "Oh, did you want something?". I said yes and asked her if I could look at a menu - there weren't any menus on the table. Approximately 8 minutes later she came back outside ready to take me order. I asked her again if I could get a menu, she said "Oh, you didn't get a menu" and asked another waiter inside where the menu was. She came back outside with a menu. After looking over the menu I opted to order a fresh bowl or fruit and a coffee. Another 10 minutes pass, she comes out with my friend's food - here I am still with no coffee and fruit. She didn't even mention anything about when my food will come or even my coffee. After everyone else received their food another waiter came out and asked if everyone received everything. At that time my friend told the waiter we are still missing a coffee and fruit. The waiter came out with a bowl of fruit and coffee. The fruit was definitely not fresh. It was a bowl of bruised and mushy bananas and apples, and 4 thin orange slices. I can deal with the food but to not even get an apology or even an update on why it's taking so long is unacceptable. read more

We were excited to see Addies had moved over to Boise Ave. Unfortunately we received some of the worst service we've ever had in Boise. One star is being generous here. It took so long to be seated, for someone to come to our table, acknowledge that we were even there, and to get our food. They seemed extremely understaffed and those that were working had zero sense of urgency. The waitress forgot several items and had to be asked for them. My friend even had a sticker on the avocado peel INSIDE her burrito! Overall just a poor experience. Definitely will not be recommending Addies anymore. Use to be a Boise classic. read more

We went there for lunch, very excited to try new location. I ordered a egg omelette but noticed it was very sweet like a crepe mentioned it to an very friendly service person. She checked came back and said it must of been prepared on top of a pancake residue. Upon further dissection of plate the so called egg mixture flacked like pancake mix. Brought it to the attention of owner and she looked at me like I was crazy! I was treated with disrespect and all I was trying to tell her it was a funny mistake. We haven't been here in several years, and since we couldn't get to the Griddle due to the Color Run, we thought we'd stop in to Addie's instead. We were seated quickly and served coffee (weak Boyd's brew). The waitress was prompt and I had no issues with her at all. My father ordered eggs sunny side up. He received scrambled eggs. He sent it back, received over easy. At this point, he was just hungry, and decided they were close enough so he dug in. I ordered my eggs scrambled soft, received scrambled hard. HARD, with brown bits. Yuck. I just didn't eat them. The sausage and dollar cakes were tasty so it didn't really matter. Hubby ordered the hillbilly Benedict and was fairly satisfied, but thought the gravy tasted like flour. So overall, good service, food needs some work. I should have drove to Egg Factory. read more

We've been here several times hoping to find a replacement for the previous breakfast haunt we had before we moved to Idaho. This just isn't it. Same people always there (think they might all be from same family) and only one of the servers (the blonde one) ever provides decent coffee service. They are all pretty nice - but are just not on top of the "wait on your tables" game. Even when very, very slow. Btw, they seem slow most of the time - even with their prime downtown location. Tried the chicken fried steak 3 times - totally scared of them now. First time it was burned on the outside and bloody inside. Second time it was almost the same - though not as bloody. Third time it was crispy and full of gristle. Gravy is poor, as is the hollandaise sauce. In fact, it's hard to say what they do actually do right - maybe the burrito. It's pretty good. Did we mention the poor coffee service? Please Addie's. Try harder. We really, really want to like you. read more

Addie's is hands down the worst breakfast option in Boise, and I am a huge fan of our local restaurants. After waiting for an hour and a half to get our food, watching two large families receive their food before my 3 friends and I had even ordered, and grabbing toast off the table next to us that was left there, I was devastated to bite into my chicken fried stake which resembled a hockey puck in both shape and flavor. My friends hillbilly Benny was near flavorless and even the breakfast burrito was so below par, I can't find a single compliment for it. After all this we were overcharged on the bill. I am not one to be so brutal but this was truly one of the worst meals and all around breakfast experiences of my life. read more

We visited for a late breakfast. I, being from out of state, was eager to try Addie's and was supremely disappointed. In summary - rude service! I regret even leaving a tip. We were told we could seat ourselves at a booth, we ended up waiting there for at least 15 minutes before being greeted by our server. She told us she had spilled on herself, which was indicator that she probably had a rough morning too. She took our order and disappeared. I did not see her at our table again until she dropped off our food, for which I said "thank you" and she briskly said "you're welcome" and walked away. In our section, I listened to her attentiveness with other tables when asking if they needed anything else. We had no utensils and I didn't even bother trying to order a cup of coffee. I carry my own traveler and would have filled it there. I ordered a burger and ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium. Overall, the food was average. The next time our server came to our table, she literally dropped our check off as she passed by without saying a word. I found this to be extremely distasteful and rude! Had I done something to offend her that would merit this behavior, I would understand. I am a Hispanic female with a buzzcut and I can not help but be confused and wonder if prejudice was in the mix. First, it took 40 minutes to be seated, 10 minutes to be greeted once sat and then didn't get our food for over an hour. They thicken their omelettes with pancake mix, so be careful if you are gluten intolerant. Very poor service. Only good thing is their bottomless mimosas. read more

Usually a great spot to grab some breakfast and a coffee, but today was the single worst dining experience I've ever had. It took 25 minutes before our order was taken, and once the waitress was finally ready she was the meanest person I've ever met. The girl serving the drinks was also frankly extremely rude. 5 minutes, two of the worst interactions I've had with anyone in my life. If I wasn't being cooled down by my dining mates I would have snapped back at her and stormed out. Addie's is dead to me, I will never be back. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been going to Addies for 15 years and they are the same great place now as they were then. They have the best pancakes. I'm not sure what makes them different, but they are incredible. The skillets are huge and you can customize to nearly any diet restrictions. My boyfriend loves the homemade steak fingers, which are apparently frozen many places. Not here. Always great staff, laid back, not trying to be anything but the cheap, yummy local diner. read more

One of the worse places I have ever been. They only had three other tables seated when we came in. Took almost 10 minutes to get our drink order and the girl wasn't that nice. While waiting another 15 to get out food order in we watched two more groups come in. One of them walked out since they weren't getting any service. The other group got drinks and what looks like their food order in( they got their food and left before we did). We were about to leave when a different waiter a guy come and got our order. He keep apologizing for taking to long but still seemed super distracted when taking our order. The food came out super quick. Then I asked for a refill on our coffee(which I never got but it seemed everyone else did and when I tried to ask another lady who was going around she said sure and still no coffee) After a few minutes of getting out kids food cut realized they were missing thing for their meals. No big deal we ask when someone came back around. No one came around and when she finally did everyone was done. Went up to pay since we were tired of wait and assumed the bill would take another 20 minutes to get. Was charged for the extra items. At this point I decided they could have the extra few dollar I was done dealing with the crappy serve. Will never go there again. read more

I've tried pretty much every breakfast joint in town and there are a handful that are great. Addie's is one of them! Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but that's strictly a result of its popularity. Service is friendly, food is consistently cooked as ordered and delicious, and the comfy environment is perfect for a business breakfast, or nursing a fun night out the night before. What a little gem. My sister and I were craving breakfast food "a l'americano" and I typed into my Android's "local" app restaurant with American food, and up popped Addie's. We were nearby, so we decided to give it a try. The servers were adorable and friendly, helpful with menu suggestions, the prices cannot be best, and most importantly, the food was delicious! Total Dive, first thing you notice when you walk in is the strong smell of Natural gas then the waitress hands you some sticky dirty menus and directs you to go sit where ever you want. Did I mention sticky the tables and booths were very dirty and yes you stuck to them, sugar bottles empty, as for the food the scrambled eggs where cooked over hard then diced up and the French toast was dipped in butter not batter, the butter soaked the plain white bread down to about a centimeter thick. I am surprised that nobody gets sick in this place they need to tear it down and put another parking lot there for people in Boise to park in. read more

Unfortunately I have never had good luck at this place. I hoped that my experience would have been different here because it reminds we of a small town diner. I have tried out Addie's two times. Both times I had the chicken fried steak and both times it fell below the mark. The second time I thought the meat had gone bad because it tasted sour! After the waitress cleaned up our table she didn't even ask why I was returning a full plate of food. I would recommend saving your money or try out one of the other spots downtown. read more

All of this is in the context of it being Mother's Day when I visited. However this place was awful. First issue was the wait, even though it was Mother's Day it was still painfully slow between both the kitchen and the waiting staff. Took us nearly an hour and a half to get in and then nearly another hour to get food but we were hopeful that the food would be good, we were wrong. First issue was they messed up my moms order, like not just a small issue but literally cooked the wrong thing for her. Next was my Addies breakfast burrito came with the wrong meat, who gives a man sausage when he ordered chorizo! Waiting staff was clearly overworked which made them incredibly agitated and it came off when they were serving us leading to a more unpleasant experience. The only good item we got was the eggs Benedict, finally. Server also forgot multiple items that were ordered mostly due to them being unorganized. Overall an very unprofessional business and awful food quality. read more
