The food here is simply amazing! We are here with a friend that we were visiting downtown. The menu is full of different things to eat. The chicken is my favorite so I went with curry chicken and I got a side of garlic naan. the curry was so delicious, very flavorful and you get a lot of chicken for what you pay for. The chicken was tender and juicy, the rice was cooked perfect (not hard or soggy). Shortly after our main course came, the naan shortly followed. For 3-4 bucks you get a lot of naan and it also tasted great; there are also a lot of different naans to choose from. They also have fountain drinks and bottles of soda in a fridge to purchase. I live in the outer suburbs yet had to be in the campus area for an appointment. I ordered my standard Indian meal through Yelp for takeout: lamb vindaloo and garlic naan. First time at Adeep. Wonderful. The sauce was tangy. Not too hot. Great flavor. Lamb tasted fresh. Compared to other restaurants where I have ordered the same thing, Adeep ranked high on the list if not tied for first. The only downside was finding parking. The campus is geared towards walkers. But don't let this keep you away. Just pull up, put your flashes on, run in, get your food, and hop into your car. I'll be back when I'm in the area again. By the way, needed to heat things up at home...50 minute drive in traffic. Keep the naan in the foil and put into the toaster oven for 5 minutes. Five stars for the food, maybe one star for atmosphere. Their aloo bhature, naan, and chicken tikka masala are wonderful, and the portion sizes are huge. But we made the huge mistake of ordering in on a 90 degree day. Eating spicy food in an unairconditioned restaurant on a hot day is not an enjoyable experience. I'm sure this is tailored to students who are getting their food to go, but I feel like non-students who have no choice but to eat in shouldn't have to be miserable. This was my favorite and go to restaurant, so I was super disappointed when they raised almost all the menu prices. Before I could get a meal for $12, now it's $16. I'm not sure why the prices of all the veggie meals have gone up when it doesn't seem like the chicken ones have, and unfortunately I won't be eating here as often. When I'm in the mood for some takeout Indian food, I always go with Deep India. Among the handful of Indian restaurants in Clifton, they're my favorite. They offer free deliver, $18 minimum, yes it's a lil' high, but most places don't even deliver, or they require a minimum PLUS a delivery fee. Their food is solid. I looove their onion naan, unlike some other Indian places, they don't overdo it with the spices in their onion naan. Even for delivery, the naan always arrives hot and soft. Their chicken tikka masala is another favorite of mine, chicken strips instead of chunky chicken, taste way better and not as dry. Food was hot and stayed hot until I got home about 15 mins away. Also, the naan bread only comes with the food during lunch. Otherwise you have to order it as a side and you should get 2. A staple Indian place for UC students! I eat here pretty often when I'm looking for a fix on heavy, creamy Indian food. The best time to go is for lunch. You can get a naan with the order and it's the same portion size as dinner. They also have coupons in the Bearcash book if you are eating with a friend. My go to dish is with Mushroom Matar or Malai Kofta. Both are great with the kashmiri naan which has coconut and raisins. Just today though I tried some leftovers of a friend's bhatara (spelling may be wrong), which is mashed up eggplant. It is easy less heavier than my usual dishes and with a lot of flavor. HUGE fan, cheapest Indian food in the area! My friends and I would often go here or have it delivered, and the portion sizes are pretty decent. I never finish all of my food, but the boxes they serve you in are very convenient to bring home and eat for lunch the next day. 2 meals for a low price? Take it! Not to mention I've always been satisfied with the quality of the food. My personal favorite is saag paneer, but I have also tried most of their other popular dishes like the tikka masala, vindaloo, tandoori, and of course the naan. I see some people complain about delivery. We always do pick-up and the food is not "fast." They usually tell us a solid 30-45 minutes and it does take that long. This is our favorite take out place. It is not my favorite Indian. I love Ambar to sit down and have a great meal. What Adeep does is slightly more fast-food than a sit down place. Prices are beyond reasonable and portions are HUGE. Also, their rice is really freaking good and has a wonderful blend of spices. I normally only eat half the rice or so that they provide. As a place that we go for take-out only, the only disappointment is the naan. I've seen them making it fresh but it's just not as crispy and delicious after a 10 minute drive home in foil. What really makes it 5 stars? Really great customer service. You see, almost every Indian curry is finished off with a sprinkle of cilantro. I am a cilantro hater. It makes me gag. It is a curse. Said cilantro can be picked out normally. However, I always like to ask that they not include it but most places ignore or forget the request. Adeep NEVER does. In fact, they now know our order by heart and that I'm a cilantro hater and specifically tag my entree and naan. Also, on occasion, they've included free dessert without us knowing until we get home. As for spice levels, I order a level 4 and usually get a good sweat from it and it's the perfect sweet spot before being a bit painful. My husband goes full on 6 on the 1-6 scale. Has this place become my favorite Indian restaurant in the city? After three visits (and becoming the mayor on foursquare), I think that's a definite, "yes!" As a "native" (been living in the area for 20+ years) I've seen many Indian restaurants come and go. Some are still left standing, because of mass appeal, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good Indian. What I love about Deep, is it's simplicity. This is a non frou frou kinda place, no waiters, no silverware on the table. The owners recognize that by setting up in the business district that serves the University of Cincinnati crowd, they have to think like a college community thinks: need to eat good food, fast and for cheap. I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups (not even 10 tables inside) but I do recommend it for a cute date night with a girlfriend or the boo. Bottom line why you should go: food is good. And there's LOTS of it. In fact, there's so much food that at after one visit, I seriously had leftovers for three more days! No lie! My one recommendation that everyone should check out from the menu: the special vegetable samosa. It's an appetizer, but seriously could pass for a light meal. Eating it, with an order of chai, takes me right back to my homeland of India, having afternoon tea along the busy streets of Kochi. So go. Take it from this Indian. read more

I've been craving Indian food for months and this place hit the spot! My friend and I came down to Cincy as a little holiday trip since were off from school and way too far to go back home. We yelped this place and found this little hole in the wall place. We drove past it without even knowing! I ordered the chicken curry at a level 4 on the spice meter. This is so darn delicious! Level 4 spicy was just perfect for me! Not only is this place super cheap but it also gives you loads of food!! My friend and I could've split an order and still would've had leftovers! (Taking home leftovers isn't recommended..) I would give this place 5 stars but this place was so dirty! I happened to see a bug crawling while I was sitting down at one of the tables. NOT OKAY! The floors were dirty. Just eww! I'm tempted to even give this place a 2 star rating for how dirty it is.. But the food makes up for it. Deep India looks rundown and questionable from the outside. Inside, it's not much better - just a few well worn tables, and an ordering counter that has seen better days. Parking there isn't a problem, it's more like a bad joke, especially during the school year, with UC being right outside its doorstoop. And you never know if your wait for food will be 5 minutes or a half hour, or more. God, how I love this place Because they have, in my opinion, the very best chicken tikka masala to be found anywhere in the greater Cincinnati area. Good enough to fight the traffic, hunt down parking, and wait - wait because the food is cooked to order in an area within view of the cash register. And if that wasn't enough, if you order at lunch, they thrown in a plain or garlic naan (Choose garlic, and thank me later), free of charge. And it too is made fresh right in front of you, in a traditional tandoor oven Just outstanding They offer the full typical set of other Northern indian dishes one finds on menus at other Indian restaurants around town as well - vindaloo, biryani, saag paneer, etc etc - and these too are also cooked to order while you wait, but I cant speak to any of these because I am so hooked on this one dish of theirs and have never ordered anything else. We've ordered takeout from here twice now. It's the closest Indian to us and we love getting bubble tea from next door! Both times we've gotten tikka masala. It's really tasty but it's all sauce! Both times at least half of our container was sauce alone, barely any chicken! We've had enough left over that we threw it on chickpeas the next day for "leftovers"! We usually frequent Shaan in Hyde Park who gives such heaping portions for the same price. The first time we thought it was a fluke, but now I feel like this must be the norm. My boyfriend has converted me. He swore up and down that Adeep has the best tikka masala in the city. I didn't believe him because he admitted that he hadn't been to many of the other Indian restaurants in Cincy haha. But it is really so delicious. I liked amols food better but this is convenient for delivery at work. The delivery times are long, i have placed orders in hours in advance for a certain time and have been waiting 40 minutes. There are limited delivery options of Indian food in the area but I'm going to have to try harder to find some other choices. Food was cold by time it arrived. The paneer batura was the best part of my meal. I didn't care for the samosa chaat. The shahi paneer wasn't good, i didn't like that the paneer was random strips instead of cubes. Good food, large portions, average price: that sums up our visit to Adeep India. We were visiting a family member at the University of Cincinnati; we stayed at the Fairfield Inn. Adeep India is a short 5-minute walk from the hotel. Ambiance is very basic: simple table, chairs, nothing fancy at all. Atmosphere was stuffy and the air was heavy with the delicious aromas. The kitchen area is right by the register, in full view. We ordered 1 chicken tikka and 1 chicken biryani and a garlic naan. They asked us how spicy we wanted it. We requested mild since we had kids who might not like it spicy. We ordered the food to go. It took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. As we waited, we watched US Open tennis on their 2 TVs. The food was good, but not great (maybe because we asked for it to be mild) it wasn't very flavorful. [I've had mild food at other Indian restaurants that was very tasty] The rice in the biryani was very nice but the chicken was a little dry & bland. The chicken tikka was ok. It came with a small side of veggies with a sauce that tasted exactly like ketchup. The garlic naan was good but not stellar. It came with a cucumber yogurt dipping sauce, which was very good. The sauce went well with the rice also. The best thing was the portion size. 2 entrees were enough for our family of 5. We almost had leftovers but decided not to waste any. But again, generous portions. We paid $27 for our order. I'd recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and crave Indian food. Best Indian food i've ever had. Used to come here weekly when I was at school at UC. Fantastic food. They give you extremely large portions, large amounts of nan and the curry is thick. Very large menu selection! I've eaten at dozens and dozens of Indian restaurants since leaving school, nothing compares to Deep. Cincinnati NEEDS to recognize this place more!
