I've been getting my nails done here for awhile, and usually I never make an apt but today I did bc I was in a time crunch, I waited a whole hour after my apt to barely be acknowledged. Also noticed there were techs just standing around while I was waiting for my apt that was running an hour late. Not only that, I'm usually happy after I leave here but this time the lady rushed the whole thing and honestly did a terrible job. I had a hair on my nail and I said something about it and she didn't do anything about it besides barely file it down. Will never be coming back here. Save your money. Made an appointment for 5:30, they ignored our reservation and took back 3 other customers that did not have appointments. When we walked in they acted as though a reservation wasn't made. Even though they do a good job on their nails (so far, have been here twice), I don't think I will return in the future. We made an appointment for a reason and expected to be taken back at a reasonable time, not even at our appointment time. They started taking us back one at a time 40 minutes later. Adela's is great, y'all! My usual is the delix pedi (which includes callus treatment, 10min massage, cooling mask, hot stones, paraffin, as well as nail polish or buff) and a gel manicure. I love the extensive services included in the pedicure - it never fails to relax me. The gel manicure lasts longer than any I have had in PDX or the 'couve. I went camping in New Zealand for 2 weeks, came back and they still had to take off my gel! That was the longest, but I do manual labor, and I've never had it chip earlier than 1 week, even with hard use. Got some nail art last time, and got tons of complements, too ;) Highly recommended. read more

Come to find out that my appointment really isn't an "appointment" and they have sat her with someone else. They told me they would have someone else do it. I decline as my appointment was with Nikki and whenever I have had someone else do my pedicure I have gotten ingrown toenails. She looked at me and said come back tomorrow..... so drive another 35 minutes home and then come back tomorrow in hopes that Nikki can do my nails?!?! No thank you. So this was my first time going here and I am not happy. I went in and they were able to do my nails right away which was great. I asked the grill who did my nails if she could do designs and she said yes. I did two nails with glitter and three with a pink color. I wanted three zig zag black lines on my middle finger. She tried three times and could not do it. The I asked if she could do different dots on it. She did and then finished my nails. The black dots were very thick and did not dry all the way. I got out to my car and they rubbed off like wet paint. I went back in and she tried to fix them. After the second try I asked just for the pink color. She did not get all the black off and now you can see in through the pink. I also have gel paint touching my cuticles. It is not painted well at all. I may be going in and talking to the manager. read more

Was so excited to get my nails done with my niece for her birthday unfortunately I couldn't have chosen the worst place. Not worth the money our pedicures were done in less then 10mins and one of the ladies didn't even use any of the items she made me buy with the pedicure. Also I'm not sure but at other places I've gone to I usually pay at the end well this lady went out of her way to charge me before I even sat down for my manicure. Literally I was carefully walking to the chair when she stood by my side charging me. My niece lucked out the lady helping her seem to do a decent job or so we thought! She did too many layers that the next day her nails were chipped!! The lady that did my nails seems antsy and irritated the whole time all I wanted to do was leave she did too many layers and when she was almost finished she messed up three nails and her solution was to add another coat on top. When they finally sat us in the corner to have our nails dry with the air machine I again noticed that she had messed up my nails again and that my pinky not only had the pink I chose but hints of green I told her and she came over and added two more layers of nail polish!! Then they just let us sit down the ladies that did our nails left before we did and when 15 minutes passed we got up and started putting our shoes when I noticed that the lady that did my toes left the sides of my big toe with no color i finished with my shoes and just wanted to get out. I'm angry that what was supposed to be a fun time ended being a bad experience. Not worth the money! My best advice is to avoid this place at all cost. First of all to make your customers purchase the necessities to do a pedicure is just lack of customer service ! I have never been in a nail shop that makes you do that ! It should be an option ! And secondly when I asked for you to take my nails off a certain way and you tell me it will take too long thats also a horrible sign of customer service ! By the time I left, I had two bloody cuticles, mottled color that was slopped over the edge of my cuticles, and had to listen to a looong, high volume, animated conversation in Vietnamese that was conducted a foot away from my face between my nail technician and another elsewhere in the salon. I love love love Adela!! This place is the best place for relaxing after a long day at work of just taking the girls in for a pedicure. They also do facials and the owners of the place are just lovely! I'll go back here each and every time :) Their normal manicure hold up well, shellac is superb and did I mention they have higher end stuff like Essie and OPI polish selections. The ladies are great, but the guy nicked my cuticle and was rough throughout the manicure and pedicure. He should really consider just letting the wonderful women provide services. I won't be back. I loved this salon when they first opened up. I have recommended this place to so many people. But now, I take that all back. Never am I coming back again. I am not one to write reviews but the owners wife is really disrespectful & rude and people should know that. The last time I came there I called an hour in advance and she gave me a time to come & told me they will help me right away. When I came, I waited for over an hour to get seated & started. After that time, I thought I would never come back again. I later tried to give them one more chance & that was enough. The lady who did my job did a great job. I only had a couple of dollars that day because I lost my card so I gave her a $3 tip only. Later I asked the owners wife what that ladies name was because she did a great job. The owners wife then started going off on me that she's not going to tell me her name because I only gave her $3. That's ridiculous. I wanted to take away my $3 if it meant that much to her. Anyways, they really need to do something about that lady because all she does is ruin people's opinions about this nail salon. I feel like if you get a crappy tip, you should keep that to yourself and never say anything out loud because you never know what that person is going through. read more

I've been here a few times and had good experiences but I had a shockingly bad experience today. First of all I made an appointment online two or three days ago for my mom and I to get pedicures at noon. Well we got there and were totally ignored. Nobody said hello or asked why we were there or looked up at all. Nobody even acknowledged us until about 12:40 when they said it would be a bit longer. We didn't end up sitting down in the chairs until probably 1:15 because they had to call in more employees. We didn't end up leaving the salon until 2, and they all joked how we had been there forever and didn't even really apologize. They did a good enough job on our pedicures but it's nice for future reference to know an appointment time doesn't mean anything to them. read more

Adela is my new home for pedicures. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful, even when they are busy. You don't feel like they are trying to just make a buck and cram everyone in. Went back in the salon to see if they could file the solar nails down, they were placed on crooked. Was told they were not crooked. Then the lady laughed at me, looked at another lady and said "your nails are crooked, your fingers are crooked. Go to a doctor and maybe they can fix them." In front of an entire salon. Embarrassed and humiliated, another patron told me to refute the charge on my card. Went to AB nails, was told that whoever put my nails on did them crooked. Go to AB nails on mill plain. The girls in this salon do not say thank you and have forgotten that customer service is their business. Without it, they will have no money. All I wanted was for them to file my nails. Instead, she made fun of me in front of an entire salon. --------------- 8/8/16 Tony - thank you for the generic and lengthy response. It is NOT ok to embarrass a patron. Ridicule them or make them feel bad. I was nothing but calm and kind to your staff as the two laughed with each other about my "crooked nail". I did not ask them to re do them. I asked them to file them to be a bit more straight. Nothing more. So, they are Mis informing you. You should be more concerned with talking to your staff about being kind and polite than you are at rebuking negative comments online. If you take a good long look at all the negative comments, and there are plenty! You will see your staffs attitude needs adjusting. Not the customer. I went to AB nails on mill plain and Tony, the owner there said that they were in fact crooked and he fixed them. Also, many ladies at the Elite beauty school commented that the nails "your girls" did looked like crap. I again suggest you spend more time training your staff than sticking up for them. I used to come to this shop often. I was there recently and will never go back. I had $25.00 left on a gift card which has NO EXPIRATION DATE. The shop had a change in ownership and Sarah refused to honor the gift card. I would understand if it was expired. No expiration date means you should honor it. I had an appointment and was there 15 minutes early yet they help a walk-in before me. I had to wait on them for 15 minutes after my appointment time. They do not realize that they work for the customer. There are way too many nail shops in the Vancouver area that are happy to get our business. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO WITH AMY!!! I came here a couple times and usually they do a good job. Last two times I got stuck with Amy. First time Amy did my nails, they turned out horrible! I wish I would have looked at the reviews first before I decided to take my nieces and myself here to get a mani and pedi. I'm sure others got great service but we witnessed it first hand when we were there. They were super nice to others but extremely rude to us. Don't get me wrong, we were greeted in a professional manner but all that changed as soon as we sat in the chair. I swear the warm lotion during the pedi was going to burn my skin right off (maybe a little bit over exaggerating but you get my point) the darn thing was way too hot. Anyways let's skip to the mani! I told her how I wanted my nails shaped, I mean she is after all getting paid to do my nails right?! Nope! She said "SQUARE!" Like I didn't know how I wanted my nails to look, that was the beginning. She started pulling my finger way to hard and when she'd say something I'd say "excuse me" because I couldn't understand her, there was a point where she grunted at me......GRUNTED! Really?! UNPROFESSIONAL. I don't usually write reviews but this had me upset. And even tho I wasn't happy with my nails after we left I still left a tip. Worst experience ever!!!!!!! Never coming back!!!! Made an APPOINTMENT at 1:00pm for 2 pedicures. 1:30 my friend gets her pedicure started (already 30 minutes late) no big deal. However I'm still sitting there waiting for somebody...1:45 rolls around, the water in my foot soaking tub is COLD and the water jets shut off.Like really? Oh, and I STILL haven't been helped. I had to actually pull my feet out of the tub because they were pruning horribly. 1:50 they seat a lady next to me who has barely just walked in and guess what?! Her fucking pedicure gets started before mine. REALLY?! I finally get helped and my pedicure begins....it was SO rushed!!! My pedicure finished at the same time as my friends did....and hers started a whole 20 minutes BEFORE mine. Wtf!!!! Needless to say, I came here to relax and left even more stressed out than I was when walking in. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Made an appointment for 1:30 for 2 pedicures. After waiting for 15 minutes we went to leave. The lady ran out and said she would get to us right away. We went back in and sat down. If by get to us right away she meant just putting water in the foot tub then yeah but it wasn't less than 10 minutes later that a lady finally came to do my pedicure. Meanwhile my mom continued to sit with her water getting cold. They kept saying someone was coming to do hers. By the time mine was completely done, they had just started hers. We were less than impressed. I'd like to say that although slow they did a good job but I can't. They sliced my mom's toe so bad with a file that they had to super glue the cut shut. I would give this place no stars for customer service but my nails turned out okay so I'll give them 2 stars. I have never felt so compelled to review a place but the lady who did my nails was so unprofessional I had to. First she asked what shape I wanted and I told her I wanted almond shape nails...the friend with me heard it as well. She proceeded to shape my nails into a coffin, I kindly explained again I wanted an almond shape and throughout the rest of the appt. she made fun of me with sarcastic comments for not knowing the shape of nails even though she was in the wrong. After that things went downhill farther, her and a coworker ended up arguing (in a different language) however it became so loud and snappy even as an English speaker I could tell. They were literally in front and back of ya yelling at eachother so loud I couldn't even speak with my friend. She bent my fingers in unnatural ways and filed into my skin. The nails ended up cute but the polish was sloppy. Overall not a relaxing or pleasant experience definitely would NOT recommend! read more
