Adam, the technician and owner, seems pretty knowledgeable regarding appliance repair. He also has integrity in that he did not try to "fix" our gas stove and run up a big bill, but informed us that we would come out ahead financially by just purchasing a new stove. Furthermore, he advised us to get a basic model new stove instead of one with all the bells and whistles because there would be less to go wrong. Sound advice. read more

First of all I need to state for the record that I am not someone who complains. I don't send back food at restaurants. I don't haggle for a better price at stores, and I don't post comments on Yelp often (maybe twice). I say this to make the point that complaining is not in my nature. So when I texted ADF appliance for the second time minutes after Adam left my house post refrigerator repair, I was a little, as the kids say, peeved. (That's my little joke. I know the kids don't say peeved) Adam wrote back almost immediately with "I'm on my way." A few minutes later he arrived to check my leaking device. He looked over his previous excellent work as I explained that I heard and saw water continuing to leak directly down into the plastic tray underneath the freezer. He very patiently and kindly explained to me that this was the normal function of my refrigerator and it was nothing to be concerned about. I had just wasted his precious time. Yet he was kind a courteous. He took the time to explain what was happening and did not charge me anything additional for his lost time. I was embarrassed but he was understanding and made me feel heard. I salute Adam and everyone at ADF appliance repair for their fine work and even finer attitude toward their customers. Others in our development have used Adam's services and recommended him so we called him to fix our 7-year-old fridge's ice maker. It was a complicated job, thanks to the manufacturer making it impossible for a repair person to get to the root of the problem without replacing every part, one by one. Adam was fantastic, doing everything to get it working again and not charging us for all the extra trips he had to make to do this. He told us how to get the final (and most expensive parts) on our own so we saved about $100 on them. He also told us to turn off the ice maker any time the water is shut off or it would continue to try to pull water in which could ruin it (and maybe was the cause of the failure). He is scrupulously honest, prompt, reliable, and extremely knowledgeable. We will definitely call him any time we have appliance problems. The only problem is that he's a one-man operation and sometimes gets overwhelmed with business. He's worth waiting for if your problem isn't an emergency. read more

Adam from ADF came and deftly fixed our ailing 2004 era Maytag washing machine this morning, charging a reasonable fee. He was polite, practiced and efficient ... and we're glad to have him as our "go to" appliance expert and serviceman, with his magnetic ID on the machine. Though that washer and the other appliances in our house are old, they are "youthful" in behavior because, as periodic residents, we visit our dacha for 1 to 2 weeks per month. As part of his excellent service, Adam took a look at the kitchen appliances -- all of that 2004 vintage -- and pronounced them high-quality, enduring classics, apparently in excellent shape and well worth repairing rather than replacing. (As we all suspect, the newer models are simply not as good.) We can recommend Adam and ADF without reservation ... 5 stars. read more

Might just be a particular employee, but today had a really horrible experience with this company. We were ten minutes late (first time in my whole life an appliance man has been on time anyways), and spoke to the man about five minutes before arriving home. He rudely began with "When are you getting here, I've been waiting for six minutes." He also hung up on me. When we arrived home, he had left. I understand it can be annoying to have clients be late but I have had to wait for vets, doctors, appliance repairmen, car repairs, farriers, and my landlord. At my job, clients are late all the time. You know what i do? Smile, say it's Okay, and accept my $12/hr wage. Because it happens, and I certainly expect someone with such a pay grade to be able to be slightly flexible or at least polite and willing to work with me. read more

He had five star reviews, so I decided to give him a call for the repair; glad I did. He explained the possible scenario's and cost with the first phone call, he was on-time, knew what the problem was within the first five minutes (or less), he was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and the price was very fair. He fixed the problem within ten minutes and it works perfectly now. He also explained what to look for with some possible scenarios that my model fridge is known for, and the cost if it should malfunction. We used this business for a refrigerator repair a few years ago--was impressed that the owner (Adam?) really took time to think things through. It was a complex situation, and he figured it out (I think it took two visits and forget the billing but recall it being very fair). Recently our dishwasher broke and we tried to fix it on our own...got excellent advice again from Adam. Adam was right on time to our house to look at our GE refrigerator, which no longer kept food cold. He tried to make things easier to figure out by asking us to pull out the fridge out from the wall, but neither my husband nor myself are physically able to do that. Adam knew just where to go to check, and he found a burned spot on the control board. Fortunately, he carries one of them in his truck, so within 15 minutes he had completed the repair. And it only took a few hours for the refrigerator to come back down to correct temperatures. The cost was not cheap, but it was worth it for the service and Adam's positive attitude. read more
