I recently visited the Adidas Employee Store located at the Montgomery Park. Before I went, i have to download the app, sign up as member and reserve a time slot using the app. It's quite troublesome. This place was quite busy during my visit, it's a June sunday, there was a line, but it moved quickly. The store itself is not big, but they have a great selection, especially right now for FIFA. The employees were friendly. A really cool feature is that you can customize jerseys in the store. Keep in mind that the prices are still expensive; this is not an outlet, so do not expect outlet prices. BE AWARE! THEY OVER CHARGED AT CHECK-OUT! The customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. After discovering the store overcharged us for 12 items due to a system pricing error, we rushed back before our flight to get it resolved. Instead of a quick correction for *their* mistake, we were met by staff who had absolutely no sense of how to handle the situation. They represent the store, yet they completely detached themselves from the problem and showed zero care or urgency to resolve it. The staff's handling of the situation was abysmal: -ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY: We were forced into a massive, 30+ person line. When we asked to use the empty employee lane because of our tight flight schedule, we were bluntly denied because we were "regular customers." -TERRIBLE ATTITUDE: Staff repeatedly told us there was nothing they could do and explicitly stated that if we missed our flight while waiting for them to fix their error, *"that would be our responsibility. -DISREGARD FOR CUSTOMERS: A simple refund took nearly an hour, causing immense stress and almost making us miss our flight. This Adidas store is located on second floor of Adidas HQ, about 10 minutes away from downtown Portland. To enter the store, I had to schedule a visit from the Adidas app. The speciality of this store was, most items in this store had 50% discount. Upon arriving at the store, we had to check-in at the reception where we received a coupon for the 50% discount on our whole purchase. The store was huge, filled with apparels, shoes and accessories for men, women and kids. The shoe section had about six aisles. Kids shoe had whole lot of variety as well. There was also plenty of World Cup special merchandise and apparels that were excluded from the 50% discount offer. A lot of the regular apparels were unique to this store only and also a lot of stuff from Adidas' website were not available here. We spent about an hour in the store. Few staff members I interacted for assistance were friendly and helped me to get the correct size. Fitting room was available to trying out items. We bought couple of pairs of kid's shoes, couple of jackets, hoodies and t-shirts from the store. The checkout line was long, as the store was full of people. I can see it gets busy when the weather is good and when it's tourist season. We were lucky. There was no line. We checked in right away. Great selection for men women kids. When shopping with passes at employee stores, I have learned to arrive early and leave happy. When I surprisingly received a shopping pass yesterday while waiting in line @ Cards 'n' Hobby (review to follow shortly), I was like "cool". Not only could I shop (which I rarely do) for cool stuff, I was headed to the Alberta Arts District and it was on the way. I considered that a win-win. The selection was what I expected. I was planning on getting up to 3 pairs of shoes, but I only got 1 pair because sizes were pretty sparse. Kind of like those discount shoe places. I get it 50% markdown = smaller selection. I also got a cool jacket and a couple PDX branded shirts. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because the shirts came up $35 instead of the $30 that they were marked on the tag. If I wasn't paying attention at checkout i would have overpaid and that wouldn't have made me happy. Luckily I was paying attention, the cashier (working 1st reg, and in possibly in training) got a supervisor to override and get me the correct price. I ended up spending $225 and got excellent value for the items I purchased. Hopefully the override adjustment in the register transfers to the other items on the floor. Edit---it has been a couple weeks since I have gone and I just used the running shoes I purchased for the first time last night. We had an amazing experience at the Portland Adidas Employee Store. What truly made our visit exceptional was Jeremy Rohrman. My daughter had her heart set on a custom jersey, but we were in a serious time crunch and needed to get to the airport. Jeremy went above and beyond to make it happen and made sure everything was done perfectly. We literally received the jersey right before we had to leave for our flight. I love coming here when I get a pass. They always have great selections and different things every time I visit, which keeps it fresh and exciting. The store is always clean and organized and pretty well stocked. I've come on weekends several times before and in this particular experience it was incredibly busy. I've never seen it like that before. There was about a 20 minute line just to get inside, but the really bad thing was the line to check out that took just under an hour. Totally fine to be understaffed, but some sort of communication would have been nice as a customer. Perhaps when we were checking in they could have let us know the wait time so we could assess if we wanted to stay. Selection is hit or miss, depending on the season. If I'm unable to find a size I'm looking for, an associate is never to far away to double check the system to see if they have something in stock. When Adidas took over this building, I didn't like it at first, but I did think it was an improvement over their previous location (over 5 years ago). The store was half the size with plenty of overstock. As for here, now double in size. And after obtaining an invite a couple of times, I've gotten used to the store and its layout. You can obtain a 'one-time' pass if you sign up as a member online or via app. When you get there, you check in and enter with their latest and newest athletic-wear and gym-wear type of gear. Towards the back, from right to left is the men's shoes (sandals along the wall next to the fitting room), down to women's shoes. More of their latest and greatest in the middle, along with Originals! Kids' clothing and shoes are in the back corner. My interactions with the employees have been OK. One guy did help find certain shoes. Though, I did run into a bit of confusion with the guys running the fitting room, but not a big deal. I did have interactions with Ella, who was helpful from the shoes area to ironically helping us check out at the register. She was awesome! Overall, it's an employee store worth visiting. Here you'll find a mix of old school Originals, their Adizero line for running, plenty of soccer jerseys, plenty of shoes, golf clothing, and outerwear for hiking. Also got all the following for 50% off: athletic olive green tote bag, white hat, and black running jacket. Total was $228 and it honestly felt like a steal. You'll have to book an appointment ahead of time, but since it was a weekday, we actually booked ours only a few hours before showing up. We arrived, showed them our mobile booking, and they gave us these ticket numbers that you show to the cashier when you're about to check out. Pros: - LOTS to choose from, despite me thinking it would be hit or miss. They had a lot of shoes in my size (women's 9) and a lot of things that I ended up trying on that I typically wouldn't purchase online. - I didn't really interact with too many of the staff, but my cashier was efficient. - Very easy for our uber driver to find - Thank you Oregon for no sales tax! honestly such a fun experience. - clean bathrooms in the lobby area - was easy to catch an uber here after we were done - could easily spend a couple hours in here trying stuff on. I was able to score a pass from my neighbor and was really excited to go. I made an appointment online and the check in was really easy. There's a variety of men and women's clothes and shoes here but the clothing offered was okay. There was no new releases but there's a lot of choices. I went later in the afternoon so a lot of the popular sizes were already sold out. They did have the samba shoes but there was no discounts on those. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. After just months of use of a pair of Men's Terrex Trailrider Running Shoes, the mesh began to tear from the sides and middle. I have owned several pairs of their and other brands for three or more years that were not such a disappointment. I complained to Adidas Customer Service and it took over two months to reply. Then, they told me that they follow industry guarantee standards of six months from purchase. I hadn't had the chance to visit the employee store to date, so I was excited to have this opportunity. They carry Men's, Woman's and children's products in the store from apparel, shoes, hats and backpacks and a variety of bags. While Adidas products are expensive, they are in line and competitive to other products in the sports apparel category such as Nike, Lululemon, etc. and actually even a bit better priced from my perspective. They are a globally well known brand and known for the quality and classic styles within their brands. I purchased a pair of shoes ($50 with the employee discount applied), a fanny pack to use for my up coming race and a few female high impact sports bras (which fit great). We only found out about this the day-of on a Sunday, and were still able to get a slot in a few hours. I feel grateful anytime I gain access to an employee store pass! I've been brought along or gifted one a few times now, and I recognize that Adidas and other stores have no obligation to invite anyone to these or even have the stores set up. (Though I guess they wouldn't do it if it didn't make them money...) Adidas style is hit or miss for me. It's interesting to see fashion develop and they have a lot of great partnerships to keep the brand alive (Crocs, Peloton, young influencers, etc). I personally prefer their classic stuff. They had some more out-there items like purple/brown cow print sports bras and jean cutoff shorts. More power to you if that's your style! Overall I felt a lot of sticker shock here. Everything was 50% off but I couldn't justify paying the discounted price, let alone full price. Additionally there were some final sale items to which the 50% discount did not apply but we're still too expensive for my budget. I guess when I go to the employee store I expect to get a good deal and these did not seem like that. That said, the biggest disappointment was the sizing. It was very hard to find anything in a size large or XL for me, let alone bigger. I'm not sure why it is this way, but it would be nice to offer a complete range of sizes. I love this place and am so glad I found it. Stuck on the second floor of the Montgomery Park building, the Adidas "Employee" store is an "Invite Only" place. To get invited, download the app, go to the "On The Radar" section of the app, scroll down to "Events in my Area" and click the box that says "Book Your Time With Us." On that screen, go to the bottom and click "Book Now" (it's smallish, so it took me a while to find it again after the first time when an employee showed me). From there, follow the prompts and eventually you get to a screen to book your date and time. Pick the date and the hour window block and just show up. You'll show your tag to the employee, and they'll give you a small sticker, which you need to hold onto and show the cashier upon payment. That's all it takes to be invited to the Employee Store. Anyways, once you're there, you'll find a huge amount of space with Adidas merchandise everywhere. And this is pretty quality stuff, too! Shirts, shorts, pants, shoes...essentially everything you'd find in a sports apparel store at the mall or in a store front, it's here. From what I gather, though, it's generally stuff that hasn't sold very well in stores or online, so it's sold at a discount. That discount, by and large, is 50%. And it's 50% off what the sticker says when you shop. So when the sign says a pair of shoes cost $120, you'll pay $60 for it. Be on the lookout, though; not everything is 50%. Some is 30 or 40%. But that's okay, because really, the vast majority is at the half-off mark. This was a godsend for me with my twin boys going off to the fifth grade this year. Shoes are expensive and they grow so fast! I was able to get three pairs of shoes for them (one kid had shoes that still fit) for about $165. I also got some slip on sandals for $15. And they're great, high quality, good looking shoes! My boys love 'em and were quick to get rid of their old, worn-out ones. We'll be going back soon, this time to get some new sneakers for me and my partner. The price is right and the selection is huge. Oh, try and remember the name of the employee who checks you in at the start; at the register they ask who helped you or who spoke with you, and I believe it helps them out by helping more people and being recognized by name. The entire store is 50% except for the Exclusive items that are not eligible for a discount. The store is nicely laid out and lots to look at that I was there for over an hour. Adidas corporate is located in this old Montgomery Ward building. The outside of the building looks dated but the inside is modern. The store is up the escalators on the right side. Tucked away in what looks like a industrial area(?) It's in a huge building shared with a clinic(?). So plenty of parking, depending on the day. It's on the 2nd floor to the right. I recommend you get a time slot via the Adidas app and show up at the suggested time and you can skip the line. If you just try to walk in, you may have to wait, but the line moves pretty quickly, but on high demand days, it's great to book a time slot on the app. As for the store, it's HUGE! and most items are half off, (signs will be posted for a handful of items not part of the half off, usually high demand soccer jerseys, some high demand shoes) but the selection is insane! It's 1 floor of new/newer release items, shoes, clothing and accessories, all half off. Anything Adidas and it's subsidiaries. I can't control myself whenever we go here and wind up spending a lot. The employees are pretty helpful and usually around. If they see you looking lost or if you need a bag for all the Adidas stuff you're carrying around they can help you out. I can easily spend about an hour or so here browsing through everything. There's something for everyone, at any time. read more
