I asked her to give me one of the Glazed Cronuts and one of the Cinnamon & Sugar Cronuts. The glazed cronut was a bit too sweet and soggy-like for me but the cinnamon & sugar one had a good flavor. I went in and saw a housefly crawling on the inside of the donut display. Told a female employee about it and she acted like there was nothing they could do. Mentioned they could hang an electric fly zapper nearby. She admitted they had one hooked up in the back. She was polite and nice but seemed not too concerned about the flies. I purchased a half dozen and before exiting the shop, told a male customer about the fly. He looked at me like I was crazy and said nothing. Houseflies carry disease and land in fecal matter. I just wanted to say I first tried these donuts in June 2024 on a trip to Santa Cruz. I have thought about these donuts almost every day since trying them. They were seriously life-changing and every donut I've tried since I always compared to Farrell's donut house. And they can never compare. We came back from a beautiful walk along shark fin cove and were hungry for a quick snack and there it was Ferrells Donuts! We quickly pulled over since the vibrant neon sign caught our eye and was so inviting! We walked in and loved the pink and white colors paving our path! As soon as we walked in the employee was instantly soooooo friendly with a great big smile! Our food restrictions were a non issue as they quickly accommodated to our needs! We were eyeing all the donuts & the old fashioned donut immediately felt like the right choice! we saw chocolate and glazed and quickly the employee offered us maple old fashioned donut fresh from the kitchen! my mouth is literally watering as i write this! i took a beautiful glorious bite if the aromatic maple donut and was instantly transported to paradise by the beach! They have this donut that is called the butter bar or something like that and idk how much butter they put into that thang but it's absolutely heavenly and feels like you're finna have a heart attack and go to donut heaven right then and there! We had meant to come to the other Ferrell's because their donuts are huge and their strawberry donut is amazing. Here we got glaze, glaze donut holes, maple donut, and Boston crème. The donut holes were evenly coated and nice and fluffy. Better than the other Ferrells. The glaze tasted like the old school breakfast donuts that you heat up in the microwave. This morning I changed my mind about it, went in and the woman behind the counter completely ignored me while she flirted in Spanish with another customer. After standing there with a drink in my hand for a couple of minutes, I gave up and put the drink back & walked out. She never noticed, didn't pause in whatever she was saying in Spanish. No frills or new age gimmicks. Best donuts ever! Side story: I was skating and partying with a friend all last weekend and we stopped in here around 4am. My friend was coming down from being intoxicated since 9am the day before.... ok, we both were.... and he turns into such an a$$h0le making remarks about the guy behind the counter being too good to have better customer service and how he should be more grateful for having customers Guy behind the counter looks less than impressed and continues to ignore my friend. This place is on my way out of town just before I hit 17, sometimes I have the late night munchies and they are open 24/7 so Ill stop in for a donut to go. First impression is the place always looks a bit dirty but I suspect that's because they have a bunch of shadys loitering here all the time. Im always here late night so the selection gets a bit sparse. They start making freshies for the next day just about midnight so sometimes you can get em while they are hot if your timing is right.
