Everything Bagel and cream cheese and latte
Bethany R.

Wow the homemade bagel! A revelation. The creamy cream cheese piled high on the everything bagel was an experience I didn't know I needed in my life until the first bite. Now I'll dream of this bagel and long for it because we live out of town. Next time we are in the area we will be back for the bagel. It looked small in comparison to store bought bagels but it was mighty. Also had the chocolate croissant which was thick, very filling and yummy. Latte was good, very hot and had to wait a long time for it to cool down but classic latte. Service was friendly, felt very homey and like everyone was a friend or family member.

Greek toast to go with

This is the Greek toast to go. Disappointing small piece of bread and the description on menu didn't really match what we got

Food is good, the bagels are better than the toast, IMO. I think the bagels are made there, they're smaller than most bagels but taller and delicious. Bakery items are nice. The chai is pretty good, but coffee quality varies a lot. Drinks are called out at the bar, while food it delivered to the table. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. No music was playing inside when I was there, which I appreciate and everyone working was pleasant.

We visited Cruise Coffee Cafe while visiting Santa Cruz. The location is interesting because it is next to a bus stop area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area has a good amount of seating. The indoor area has toys for young ones to play with so that's a bonus if you go here with young kids. Cruise Coffee Cafe has a variety of coffee drinks and food options. There are fresh baked goods/pastries too. The cinnamon roll was very tempting but we decided to try their veggie frittata, an egg bagel sandwich, and a plain bagel with cream cheese. We also ordered iced mochas. The iced mochas were heavy with milk. It was hard to taste the coffee because there was so much milk and chocolate syrup. It reminded me more of chocolate milk and less like a mocha. I prefer more coffee flavor. The veggie frittata was filled with zucchini, yellow squash, and spinach. It was good, but not something I would get again. The bagels at Cruise are made in house so they were fresh and tasty. They do not skimp you on the cream cheese. The pastries and baked goods looked delicious. The espresso cheesecake would have been my pick if we were getting a sweet treat. If I were to visit again, I would try more of their sweet items. We had a nice visit to Cruise Coffee cafe.

Cinnamon roll and croissant

My little fam and I really loved our stop into this coffeehouse / bakery the other weekend on our way to Santa Cruz. I could tell all of the baked goods were super fresh and they had many options to choose from. My husband claimed the croissant was the best he had in a very long time. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor patio was clean and had lots of shaded space to choose from. We really loved watching the model airplanes across the road soar into the sky. Very relaxing stop. The coffee was also great !

I was looking for something heavier than a pastry and found out they had breakfast sandwiches and their own bagels! Score!! To my surprise, they also had specialty drinks so I had to get the Blondie latte with a plant-based milk. I asked the lady if it was sweet and she said it came with a tablespoon of brown sugar. But they could switch it and make it a teaspoon instead. Perfect! As I got my latte it was amazing!! The espresso used in the latte was actually a mild roast coffee so I really liked the flavor of it roast and it was Organic!! Win-win!! Since I'm trying to avoid dairy at the moment, I asked if I could get the lox bagel sandwich without cream cheese and replace it with avocado. The lady at the register asked another barista behind her and she said it was fine! Perfect!! You also get to pick out what type of bagel you want, so I wanted to try something different and got the sun-dried tomato and basil or something like that! The sweet flavors of the herbs in the bagel and then the juiciness of the tomato baked into the bread once simply wonderfully with my breakfast sandwich!! There's a cute little waiting area inside with at least 10 tables or seats along the breakfast bar counter and a couple of tables. There's also a very large outdoor seating area, but I was cold so I wanted to sit inside to warm up my body since I was going to go to yoga on the beach. I had only planned on eating half the bagel sandwich but honestly, it was so good when it came out. I sat there for a good 20 minutes until I ate the whole thing!! Lol so funny!! I was so stuffed I had to walk an extra mile before I could start my yoga on the beach! As I sat enjoying my breakfast sandwich, I got to overhear the two barista's talk about music!! One of the baristas allowed her device to search new genres of music while the other barista specifically looked up different genres of music she liked and then would tell her device to find music of that era. So interesting to hear their discussion!! I honestly loved everything about this quaint little coffee shop, and I will definitely be back again and again!!

I could taste everything without any particular flavor overpowering the others. Also got the Works Burrito for $16, which includes chorizo and avocado. I think it's a good price point. The burrito is huge so I shared with my boyfriend. He also had the breakfast bagel which he enjoyed. Picked up an extra bagel to-go and sped off. Great stop to make when passing through Santa Cruz.

I honestly had no idea this place was here... and with bagels! I don't get bagels locally because, well, just because. I happily ordered us coffee and bagels. Now, bear in mind, we roast our own coffee, so to us, the coffee was on the "good" side of Ok. The bagels, on the other hand, were delicious! And boy, do they pack on the cream cheese (maybe enough for 3 bagels depending on one's preference)! Service was friendly and fast. And all the people coming and going were very pleasant - there were plenty of them. The sitting area outside next to the road is pretty small (next to a dumpster, I think), and my guy was having some mobility challenges (on crutches, etc.). Folks in the neighboring table were so kind and accommodating, voluntarily standing up so that he could maneuver into a seat. We went back the following week (yes, another medical appt), and this time they were out of the bagels we wanted, so note to self... get there early if you want a favorite bagel. We will definitely be back to Firefly for the bagels! Have I said "bagels" enough times already?
