If any coffeeshop deserves five stars, it's Cruise in Scott's Valley! When we said it was our first time, the staff walked us through the menu, and told us what they liked most, and how most items on the menu were made in house. Our lattes were made with such care, and a staff member even brought out extra bruschetta board toppings from an order she had for free. The sitting areas are perfect for catching up with a friend or doing some work, and the outside patio is large and stunning. The eclectic duck decor added a nice touch to an already beautiful space with high ceilings. There is a play area for children, and a lot of bikers come around on their bike stops. Parking is in the lot behind Cruise, and there was plenty of parking on a Saturday afternoon. I did not see any outlets for charging laptops. Overall, I had the best time ever at Cruise. You should stop by, and I will be coming back again soon! read more

As my friend and I were coming over the hill, she said she'd never been to Scotts Valley so I had to show her how cute this little town is!! As we got off the freeway, she looked up and there was a coffee shop right down the street. He stopped in here for a quick bite. The two barista is helping us were incredibly helpful and patient since we had to read everything on the menu. I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Perhaps she misread the menu, but she thought "egg stacker" was a sandwich because it was under the "bagel sandwich "category. But under the description, it does not say there's any bread. Lol, which is better for us since we're trying to be gluten-free for the day. I had an ice green tea and a salmon egg which was delicious and filling perfectly made egg with the right amount of capers and seasoning for each bite to have enough flavor on it. The green tea was perfect since it was 92°! I can't wait till we get to the beach! I was sad. They didn't have any nitro coffee, but I will definitely come back to try more pastries since it seems like they were out but then again we got there about 30 minutes before they closed. I stumbled on this coffee place randomly, but it is a total vibe. They make a lot of things in house which you could always appreciate, their fall decor was on point, and they have outlets so it's a great place to stay in work. My coffee was delicious. They also have whipped cream which I enjoy when I wanna have a little cheap day and they had such cute art and tables to sit at to enjoy your drinks or pastries. I love a place that makes seasonal drinks and that are friendly and happy to serve you. They have a lot of options for things to buy whether it's dessert or a breakfast pastry. The location is super random. It's like on the side of like a bus stop area, but the coffee is so good and I can't wait till I'm in the area again to order more and actually sit and enjoy it when I don't have to rush to a meeting. Wow the homemade bagel! A revelation. The creamy cream cheese piled high on the everything bagel was an experience I didn't know I needed in my life until the first bite. Now I'll dream of this bagel and long for it because we live out of town. Next time we are in the area we will be back for the bagel. It looked small in comparison to store bought bagels but it was mighty. Also had the chocolate croissant which was thick, very filling and yummy. The bagel sandwiches were good, but the coffee is just so-so. Lots of young kids running around when we were there. The sad part was they served us the wrong dessert and would not correct the situation. The server was mildly apologetic but didn't offer to give us what we ordered or try to make things right. She just said she was new and got confused, then she walked away. We were running late so we decided it wasn't worth the effort to make things right so we left. I just wish I could take back the tip I put on my credit card before I got the wrong food and the poor attitude. I had a soy latte and a protein salad that was supposed to have chicken sausage but that was missing, half the greens were turning bad, and the "balsamic vinaigrette" was so sweet and thick it was like honey--inedible and I tossed it. We really want to like this place, but after multiple times of my boyfriend going there, never again. They always ignore him when he attempts to order something, and today when he finally was able to order a croissant, the lady held it in her hand for like 10 minutes before they were supposed to heat it up like he asked, they never heated it up. Kinda gross IMO. They are rude to him every single time, I don't get it. They are always so disrespectful to him for no reason. Maybe it's because they are racist as they have been nice to me and I have lighter skin than him. I hate to say that, but one time they even accused him of stealing pastries. The coffee was ok, I don't know what beans they use but it's nothing special, nor was the preparation. The food was fine, they do make it all and it was decent. The staff, spacey but friendly. (One note, I did observe a health code violation: an employee eating while portioning food with their hands, it's not allowed) If you need a coffee fix and some passable food, it can be done here. Food is good, the bagels are better than the toast, IMO. I think the bagels are made there, they're smaller than most bagels but taller and delicious. Bakery items are nice. The chai is pretty good, but coffee quality varies a lot. Drinks are called out at the bar, while food it delivered to the table. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. My little fam and I really loved our stop into this coffeehouse / bakery the other weekend on our way to Santa Cruz. I could tell all of the baked goods were super fresh and they had many options to choose from. My husband claimed the croissant was the best he had in a very long time. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor patio was clean and had lots of shaded space to choose from. We really loved watching the model airplanes across the road soar into the sky. We visited Cruise Coffee Cafe while visiting Santa Cruz.The location is interesting because it is next to a bus stop area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area has a good amount of seating. The indoor area has toys for young ones to play with so that's a bonus if you go here with young kids. Cruise Coffee Cafe has a variety of coffee drinks and food options. There are fresh baked goods/pastries too. The cinnamon roll was very tempting but we decided to try their veggie frittata, an egg bagel sandwich, and a plain bagel with cream cheese. We also ordered iced mochas. The iced mochas were heavy with milk. It was hard to taste the coffee because there was so much milk and chocolate syrup. It reminded me more of chocolate milk and less like a mocha. I prefer more coffee flavor. The veggie frittata was filled with zucchini, yellow squash, and spinach. It was good, but not something I would get again. The bagels at Cruise are made in house so they were fresh and tasty. They do not skimp you on the cream cheese. The pastries and baked goods looked delicious. The espresso cheesecake would have been my pick if we were getting a sweet treat. If I were to visit again, I would try more of their sweet items. I've been wanting to make a stop nearly a decade ago, and also during the pandemic. Finally, I stopped by for a cup of hot mocha, banana bread, and round croissant bread. Scotts Valley is always beautiful no matter how you view it. Excellent staffers. Surprisingly, their pastry selections were huge! Mainly American baked goodies, cookies, cakes, muffins, breads, etc. You'll find something you want. Everything can be seen over the counter. Size of pastries were generous. Fulfilling. Very welcoming and friendly place for little toddlers/children too. Spacious arrangement of tables and chairs inside. Plus, the outdoor patio area was huge! It's hard to miss. They are located right across the street from the library and you can see a Goodwill donation center down the street. This safe and relaxing place in peaceful Scotts Valley is a hidden gem at the bus station. Cruise coffee has two locations in Scotts Valley. The other location is a very small shed for drive-thru only. Both are open during specific hours, so check the time before heading out here. It's definitely worth the trip to check it out. Pastry taste weren't my favorite here though. Flour and sugar were a bit heavy for my tastebuds. I think cheesecake or other cakes would have been better. We get very spoiled with much better pastries in the San Francisco Bay Area plus lots of varieties to choose from, but this place and experience inside is unique. Enjoyed the moment. Expect beverages over $5 or most good pastries over $7-$8 per piece. Overall, the community and workers are warm, caring, friendly, experienced, and great people here. First, this is a great hangout spot ! Lots of seating outdoors and enough indoors as well. They play great cafe music, so that's a plus. It can be sunny and warm in SV, so they have shaded outdoor seating as well as a couple of umbrellas, which you may have to hold down since the wind seems to tip them over quite often. I've had both sandwiches and salads here. Both were tasty. Everything seems fresh. Have had a pastry (apple crumb cake) - also good, albeit a little dry and not as flavorful as I expected. The service is very friendly and they aim to please. Only reason I can't go "5 stars" is everything is served in paper bags or cardboard containers. So your salad is going to be crammed into a small space. Can't find a plastic knife to cut or spread anything. Nonetheless, I'll keep coming back and hanging out when I have the time. This is my favorite coffee shop in town. There is such an abundance in baked goods to choose from. It's hard to decide what to order! They have a good range from sweet to savory. The coffee is excellent quality. The ambience is super chill with a nice outdoor patio to enjoy your coffee and treats. For parking, I find it easier to park in the library lot and cross the street and cross over. I've seen some people park on the street in the loading zone. read more

We decided to swing by here to grab a small bite and coffee before we continued on our roadtrip & were very disappointed. The matcha was the worst matcha we have ever had. It was this super light green/grey color, chunks of matcha were at the bottom & overall tasted horrible. My partner usually finishes things even if he's not a fan of it , but he had to spit out this matcha. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with brown sugar & it tasted like milk, no trace of espresso in the drink. We also got a danish and it was very stale and was not impressive. I had the breakfast sandwich, which seemed to made in a convection oven,(no stove top), so the egg patty was soggy. Bacon was decent. My wife had the spinach quiche which seemed to be better prepared. Buzzers didn't work so service was slow. Amazing bakery and coffee shop. The home made bagel sandwiches were excellent. A perfectly crafted bagel with a perfect balance between crispy chewy and soft. All 3 croissants were spectacular. Their style is slightly different from a standard French croissant but they are wonderful - some of the best I have ever had. The apple crumble and blueberry lemon cake was excellent and my kids favorite. We have also tried the scones and they were quite pleasant as well. The service was great and friendly and the seating area is filled with local artist work. If you are in Scott's valley or Santa Cruz as a resident or passing through this is a place you must stop for breakfast or lunch. read more

I went to Cruise Coffee because we had last minute guests on their way. Asked if they'd do a charcuterie board for 8 last minute. Monroe. They even do it while I waited. late: I usually drink espressos and not exactly a late expert, but tasted great to me. I had an almond milk late. The milk foam was think and nice. The espresso taste was well preserved as I had 12 oz drink. The espresso is balanced and tastes like medium roasted. It has acid notes and is opposite to a dark roast espresso. I went there for Cars and Coffee and there were some nice cars in the near by large parking lot. They had a lady play piano and sing as it was an CnC event day which is scheduled for every third Sunday of a month. The outside seating area is large and has a lot of tables. It is in a bus transit station which is nice repurpose of the facility. It is active center and bus does stop there. The staff is very nice and welcoming. It's a family business of local people and love what they are doing. They are always very supportive for the community. read more
