Everything Bagel and cream cheese and latte
    Bethany R.

Wow the homemade bagel! A revelation. The creamy cream cheese piled high on the everything bagel was an experience I didn't know I needed in my life until the first bite. Now I'll dream of this bagel and long for it because we live out of town. Next time we are in the area we will be back for the bagel. It looked small in comparison to store bought bagels but it was mighty. Also had the chocolate croissant which was thick, very filling and yummy. Latte was good, very hot and had to wait a long time for it to cool down but classic latte. Service was friendly, felt very homey and like everyone was a friend or family member.

This is the Greek toast to go. Disappointing small piece of bread and the description on menu didn't really match what we got

Food is good, the bagels are better than the toast, IMO. I think the bagels are made there, they're smaller than most bagels but taller and delicious. Bakery items are nice. The chai is pretty good, but coffee quality varies a lot. Drinks are called out at the bar, while food it delivered to the table. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. No music was playing inside when I was there, which I appreciate and everyone working was pleasant.

    Cinnamon roll and croissant

My little fam and I really loved our stop into this coffeehouse / bakery the other weekend on our way to Santa Cruz. I could tell all of the baked goods were super fresh and they had many options to choose from. My husband claimed the croissant was the best he had in a very long time. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor patio was clean and had lots of shaded space to choose from. We really loved watching the model airplanes across the road soar into the sky. Very relaxing stop. The coffee was also great !

    Iced mocha

We visited Cruise Coffee Cafe while visiting Santa Cruz. The location is interesting because it is next to a bus stop area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area has a good amount of seating. The indoor area has toys for young ones to play with so that's a bonus if you go here with young kids. Cruise Coffee Cafe has a variety of coffee drinks and food options. There are fresh baked goods/pastries too. The cinnamon roll was very tempting but we decided to try their veggie frittata, an egg bagel sandwich, and a plain bagel with cream cheese. We also ordered iced mochas. The iced mochas were heavy with milk. It was hard to taste the coffee because there was so much milk and chocolate syrup. It reminded me more of chocolate milk and less like a mocha. I prefer more coffee flavor. The veggie frittata was filled with zucchini, yellow squash, and spinach. It was good, but not something I would get again. The bagels at Cruise are made in house so they were fresh and tasty. They do not skimp you on the cream cheese. The pastries and baked goods looked delicious. The espresso cheesecake would have been my pick if we were getting a sweet treat. If I were to visit again, I would try more of their sweet items. We had a nice visit to Cruise Coffee cafe.

When I tell you my friend's coffee was bad, it was bad enough I would tell you to go get burnt bean water from a major national coffee chain before getting it here... and the whole coffee interaction was so very bizarre... She ordered a latte with soy. When they brought it to her, they handed it to her in a way the lid popped off and when she attempted to take it from them to sip the coffee, as it was overfull, so she could put the lid on, the guy pulled it back away from her as she's saying "it's fine" and takes it back out of her hand, walks back to the kitchen sink, and dumps out a good inch at the top before putting the lid back on and bringing it back to her. It was really weird to insist on taking it out of her hand and super odd choice to try to solve an ill-fitting lid by dumping out part of the drink she paid for. The way he took it from her weirded us out. It was not helpful and friendly, it was insistent and domineering. We immediately wanted to get out of there and get to the car... and the lid pops off again and again, every time she picks it up. The worst part is that afterward she noticed white dry powdery crud settled at the bottom, not mixed in. No clue what it was, but our best guess was they use some sort of powdered soy milk and they didn't mix it in correctly. TL;DR - Get your coffee anywhere else.

Please be aware, this place is quite busy most days (for a reason) and there very likely will be a line and a wait. Your under staffing is not your customer's problem. Never experienced anything like this. They essentially turned me away after waiting in a 20 minute line. Looked at the menu, prices are absurd as well Ate here one time and the veggie Reuben sandwich was absolutely terrible and dry. Businesses have come and gone from this location consistently for years. This spot will be the same if you don't stop sucking. Update: Jessica, if anyone is speaking outside the realm of reality, it's you. I also grew up here-- and? Try looking at it from your guest's perspective and not your own. Waiting 20 minutes on a line to order a single sandwich for 1 person should not take 20-30 minutes post waiting in a 20 minute line. People value their time. You should consider valuing your customer's time instead of telling them they are lying. Pro tip, and good luck. Update #2: hey fellow yelpers: scroll thru some of the other reviews here: Jessica (the owner) has apparently been rude directly to the faces of many customers..Don't take it from me, there are several reviews before mine calling her out by name for how rude she was. Great example for her staff and really does nothing but solidify my initial review of over priced hipster food with a long line out the door to wait for mediocrity.
