The food was mediocre and the coffee bad. The service was lackluster. My girlfriend had the pancakes which were like cardboard.

Came here a couple times. This coffee shop is in a convenient and nice location and I just really like the ambiance the fact that they have plenty of outdoor seating. Coffee was good and service was very friendly and they were patient. Sometimes short staffed and ordering can take a bit longer than usual but not bad at all since I wasn't in a hurry. It was a friends birthday and we had planned to have high tea. She wanted to go to Adrienne's Tea Garden. I've been many years ago but boy was I disappointed this time, we all were. Here's why: I was strongly scolded right off the bat because I did not wait to be seated, as the sign indicated. "OOops "my bad" Not only, was I scolded the waitress went ahead and gave the entire table A good talking to as well. We will not have rogue customers in this establishment was her message. "You must wait to be seated you can not just come in and take a table. It was a long lecture I will spare you all. She wanted to keep us in check. The poor birthday girl did not see it coming or understand why she was being scolded. Well, we did get through that but it was super uncomfortable and set a terrible tone for the lunch. I would have left if not for the Birthday girl' s Day would have been spoiled. Then the shock set in with the prices of the High tea it was 84$ for 2. Crazy expensive. But we went for high tea; so we bit the bullet and ordered it. The quality was subpar to say the least, the sausage rolls and quiche were tiny, the size of a quarter. The sandwiches where not tasty, dry bread and just average nothing special. The dessert offering was misery, 2 tiny pieces of store bought cake squares, Then the fruit 2 orange slices and apple slices and a slice of pineapple. The tea was nothing special. The scones were small and they gave a tiny bit of Devonshire cream and jam. I forgot to take pictures which was too bad. We've all been to nicer places Butchart Garden, White Heather and Abkazi Gardens all superior to this place. It outrageously overpriced. The server we had was fine. In my opinion there are much nicer places where quality of the high tea is much better. One other person in our party ordered crab cakes overpriced over cooked left her hungry. I found everything on the menu overpriced just a Ceaser Salad was $17, Med grill is far better food in this area and priced accordingly. Skip this place especially for high tea. As for the guard at the entrance lighten up on your customers, you could use some customer service training. Bravo you really spoiled our good vibes for the day. And you've just lost 4 locals who grew up in the area, shame; location is great that's it. Hope this helps out the next person Adrienne's Tea Garden there is lots of opportunity to get it right. Visiting Victoria and decided to take a scenic coastal drive. Came upon Mattick's Farm and lo and behold Adrienne's Tea Garden. What a delightful find! Thoroughly enjoyed -the Beef en jus, juicy &tasty w/seafood chowder luscious with a hearty potato flavour -chicken pot pie (crust was buttery and flakey) -crab cake Benny - yum what a treasure moist, crisp - eggs poached just right Couldn't help ourselves topped off our lunch with a lovely moist slice of harvest carrot cake We will be going back for "seconds" before we say good bye Victoria in 10 days!! My friend & I ate breakfast at Adrienne's. It's near a golf course and high income area. I don't know much about it because I'm not local. Adrienne's breakfast food combines the comfort of diner style food with an upper crust flair. I had french toast, and a side of eggs & mushrooms. I'm pescatarian, so I didn't order sausages or meat. I really loved how cozy, comfortable, and fancy this place was. Their food was light, yet filled me right up. It happened to be a sunny day the day my friend & I ate here, so the sun shown down in the area, lighting up the place quite nicely. The wait staff was very attentive and took care of us. This spot is so nostalgic for me! I grew up coming here as a kid, and it's just as good as an adult. A neighbourhood gem, it's the kind of place you'd bring your nana to after church on Sunday (in the best way). The shrimp wrap was delicious - don't be fooled by the basic plating which does look a bit bland. I subbed in seafood chowder (shrimp and scallop) for $1.50 as a side - highly recommend! We were looking for a local's alternative to Tea at the Empress and Chowhound had us thinking this might be a cute, casual option for high tea. Its a great spot about 15 minute drive from downtown Victoria and they do serve good homemade pasties, quiches, currant scones and desserts with high tea in a garden setting. Its a very casual version of high tea. The front of the shop is very much a grab and go, and the back is more a white tablecloth (flocked plastic) casual high tea and less expensive salads, sandwiches, and desserts with tea. As an alternative to the Empress (with its staggering Victorian wood carvings, history and completely outrageous pricing) its a let-down. As a very casual, comfy local tea spot, or even a casual lunch spot, it's a fine choice. Keep expectations in line. Pluses include a great shopping center that includes a fantastic local wine shop, an enjoyable gardening center, a small market and some kid-friendly stores. Frankly, this is a great stop for an outdoor ice cream, which you can purchase from the ice-cream counter (grab and go) outside Adrienne's and that's almost as great an option for you to see what this place is all about, and decide if this is the tea house for you. read more

Very cute cafe/bakery. We stopped in and had the bay breakfast which was delicious. The next day we went back and got breakfast sandwiches and strudel to go. All the food is homemade, pastries are delicious and having tea here is very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this little gem of a cafe to anyone in the Cordova Bay Area. read more

ONE STAR for location . Nice warm day today for a cuppa and pastry so first I asked the counter person if their scones and other pastries were made with butter and she had to go in the back to find out they were made with MARGARINE!!! I was surprised as they are a tea room. TRANS FATS...hydrogenated...GMO veggie oils are not good for us. When I indulge in sweets they must contain butter, simple and pure like in France! I don't mind paying a little more. We left and drove over to Tonolli's on East Saanich Rd. (see my review) I must say Adrienne's was packed with people today and probably no one asks about butter vs margarine. That's my little pet peeve...oh heck, I confess I have a few others too! Stopped in on Friday for high tea. Its a busy plaza with lots of businesses so parking is a bit dicey. They were offering a 'Christmas High Tea' so we ordered that. We expected Christmasy cookies or other baked goods but actually it was just regular stuff that they could serve any day. Not sure why they called it Christmas High Tea. Anyhow what we did get was a nice assortment of finger sandwiches, scones, chocolate balls, quiche and fruit. All of it was really good. We ordered English Breakfast tea and was super hot and good. Our friends in contrast had a great and polite server. Food was good but one employe ruined the visit for us. To management - your order taker was female and the the only person who wore glasses. The exterior signs make the place sound pretty interesting but it's just a regular cafe place. The service was slow and the food disappointing. I'm not sure if it was because we were in for a late lunch after 2 p.m. The desserts seem to be the drawing card for this place but I didn't really try any. The entrance to the restaurant has display counters of desserts. The place is airy and pleasant. Service, when we did get it, was friendly but most of the time there wasn't a server to be seen. read more

I wish I had taken a picture of the "eggs benedict" I was served today at Adrienne's Restaurant & Tea Garden at Mattick's farm. $15.00 gets you a small, bland generic brunch, which tasted ok but was nothing special. It had 2 small muffins with salmon, two eggs and 5 thin slices of fruit, a bare minimum. They have served the same eggs benny for 26 years and clearly due to their location can charge and serve whatever they want without being concerned about making improvements. I believe the owners take full advantage of their great location near the lockside bike trail. They have indeed an inviting restaurant but the food is overpriced, for example who pays $3.00 for standard drip coffee? My advice is bring your own thermos of homemade coffee and a snack for your bike ride. read more

Food is decent enough and reasonably priced. Service was fine when we were there on a weekday. The main problem is the acoustics - if most of the tables are occupied everyone ends up talking loudly so they can be heard. Would probably be very annoying for people with hearing aids. Next time I'll just get some baked goods for takeout. read more
