I used to go to this salon because it was down the street from home. The place is run down and could use some remodeling. The manicures and pedicures we're very mediocre and prices were standard. The one star is for the horrible management. Tammy (the owner), is always ranting about a customer in front of other customers and to be honest, it's very uncomfortable listening to her when you just want to unwind and enjoy your mani and pedi appointment. I found a better salon a little further away, but at least I know the owner and staff are warm and inviting. read more

I came in today with my disabled husband and we were 10 minutes late The manager yelled at me and told me she could not do my manicure as scheduled, just the two pedicures. Now that I've read the reviews I see that she has a habit of being rude to customers. I have liked their service in the past but now i think I'll find a salon that believes in customer service and just good old fashioned manners. The place's manager (Tammy) is extremely rude and unpleasant. She has acted rude to me before on different occasions, but I always chalked it up to her having a bad day. However, my experience today was a particularly troubling one. Her rudeness began on the phone when I called to make an appointment. She was rushing me through the phone call and saying that she can not talk. When I got there after work, despite making an appointment, I had to wait for almost an hour. While waiting, I was asked if I wanted some water or tea, and I said I'd like some water since I was thirsty. After 2 hours of being there, I started to feel sleepy, since I was tired from work too, and I asked for tea too. In response to this, Tammy decided to mock me in front of everyone. When it was time to pay, I said I'd like to pay for the tea too, but also told her that she should be a little nicer to the customers. She started screaming at me and telling me things like "Do not come back", and "I am rude to the rude people like you." Even though I haven't done anything that could be considered rude at all. All I wanted to do was to have a nice relaxing time and get my nails done. I am 58 years old and I have been having my nails done regularly for at least 40 years. I know what needs to be done, and what customer service is like. There is a wonderful girl (Hali) here, who does a great job. But unfortunately, my entire experience was ruined by Tammy's rude remarks and attitude, and what I hoped would be a nice relaxing time, turned into a really shocking and upsetting experience. This place is lying to say that walk ins are welcome. As soon as I walk in the woman standing there immediately asked in this rude tone if I had an appointment. I replied "oh do you only take appointments?" She then responded that no but they would need to see if I could fit into the schedule. A young lady walked in approximately 5mins and warmly greeted her and invited her to choose a color and helped her along with the different tones. Thank you racist lady!!! Hopefully no one else of color comes in and take off the walk ins are welcome because obviously it is NOT at all!!! And I had a gift card and they laughed when taking it for payment as if it isn't cash!! I had left over $10 so they gave me the remaining balance and wrote one year expiration but I looked at their other card receipts without an expiration date. Funny how these people cleaning feet dare to be racist and discriminating. If you're in the business of providing service...learn how to provide customer service!!! I was looking for a nail salon to try out while on my lunches for work and I came across Lovely Nails in the Sharon Heights plaza. First I want to say that the ladies that work here are super friendly. They did not have me waiting long at all even though they were a little busier and I had an appointment. The environment was clean, welcoming, and relaxing. I was offered cucumber water and a warmed bean bag after being seated. Tammy did my nails and she was just delightful. She did an amazing job and took her time despite managing the calls and front desk. My nails look amazing and I will definitely be coming back! After a horrible experience with the manager, I believe some of the positive reviews were written by people who might be her friends or relatives. Last month I went to have my nails done, and questioned innocently the quality of the nail polish used a couple of weeks earlier at this store. The owner became extremely abusive, shouted at me, and did her best to intimidate me. I am an elderly woman visiting from abroad and should not experience violence. Sorry, but the last few times I have been here, the energy in this store is so negative. I like the fact that the place is clean but it is true what the NUMEROUS reviews (too many to ignore Mr. Owner!!!) have said about Tammy. I feel badly but she has to change her attitude but highly doubtful she will be able to do this. Tammy definitely belittles customers and argues with them and gets visibly upset with the people who work for her. She also speaks poorly WITH her co-workers about certain customers - not believing anyone understands her. It's quite appalling. Unfortunately, her attitude is sooooo negative. She's in the wrong job and this can't be good for her health. I watched her argue with a customer about their updated practice of cutting toenails and filing feet first BEFORE soaking in water. That is just plain disgusting, taking your shoes off, they tell you to put your feet on the clean towel and then before putting them in the nice water, they start trimming your toes and filing. Just yuck, yuck and yuck. Pedicures are supposed to be relaxing - this place just stresses me out when I walk in. They are totally inconsistent about offering water or tea - or the neck warmed wrap. I've been going to LN for a few years now. Today was the first time I was really disappointed with the service. I reserved a 10AM appointment for my friend and I. There was one person there who seated us in chairs with no water and continued to answer the phones and seat other customers who appeared to have appointments. Lovely Nails Salon is AMAZING! The owner Tammy runs a tight ship and everything is clean and very pampering. I was a last minute walk in with gel mani and pedi and they took me! I was served water with a slice of cucumber and the pedicure was out of this world devine because they massage and rub your feet with warm rocks. They use lavender lotion that lasts and is calming.
