One of our longtime vendors, for thirteen years now. I've been here at my company since 2009, so I've also been dealing with them for a long time. This company monitors our Fire System and our Alarm system. By telephone, it does take some time to reach a live person. You must select which service you need: commercial or home. It's a few minutes though. You can also monitor your system using their online portal. It is alright. I've been on there enough to know my way around to navigate. Otherwise, I could see how it would be deemed: not user-friendly. Things became easier for me when I was granted "Admin Access". I usually also need to call them to set our systems on "Test" mode when our there is service on our HVAC system or when our Fire System is having the quarterly test. There are several areas they they need access to such as the fire riser room, the monitoring box, and the rest of the panels, which are all over the property. Sometimes the service call turns out to be that the batteries need to be replaced. I like that I will get an email when the tech is on the way over; this just gives me a heads up. Some vendors assume that I am here all the time. Yes, I work full-time. read more

ADT double-charged me nearly $100 for my June bill. When I contacted customer service via chat to inquire about the charge, I was informed that the issue resulted from a billing error on ADT's end. Despite acknowledging the mistake, the representative refused to issue a refund. I spent approximately 30 minutes on the chat trying to resolve the matter with a representative who repeatedly failed to understand my simple request for a refund. Frustrated, I decided to call customer service instead. Unfortunately, that experience was no better. The representative I spoke with also refused to process a refund and stated that the only option available was a credit toward my July bill. This is unacceptable. The error was caused entirely by ADT, yet I am being forced to wait for a future billing cycle to recover money that should never have been taken from my account in the first place. When a company makes a billing mistake, the appropriate remedy is to promptly refund the customer--not retain the funds and offer a future credit as a substitute. read more

ADT is becoming a total rip off. Had the out 6 months to trouble and replace system batteries. Charged $189 - not a problem. Had to call them back as system was sending an error that one of the sensors was showing low battery. They told me would $59 but end up charging plus another $189 for"diagnosis". Guy washers literally 10 minutes. He confirmed that battery was low and said the prior replacements should have lasted much longer. Don't mind tbd $59 plus the $3 for tbd battery but the diagnostic charge that they completed over the phone when I called is a total ripoff. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! I am writing to express my frustration regarding my repeated attempts to cancel my ADT services over the past several weeks. During this time, I have spoken with multiple departments and representatives, only to be transferred repeatedly and provided with different answers regarding the cancellation process. Each time I call, I seem to start over without receiving any resolution. Additionally, I have requested to speak with a supervisor on multiple occasions and have consistently been told that no supervisors are available. This has made it extremely difficult to address my concerns and complete what should be a straightforward cancellation request. At this point, I am requesting immediate assistance with canceling my services and would appreciate written confirmation of the cancellation process, any applicable fees, and the effective cancellation date. I wouldn't recommend ADT + or ADT in general to no one! A tech had came out his name was Ivan the guy is lazy he comes in trying to tell you how many cameras he will put up for you around your house. I called to cancel my 86 yr olds father's service and they wanted to charge me $1400! I complained and asked for a manager to talk to. They said the manager would call me,but of course that never happened. They are greedy and have no conscience. Run, don't walk from ADT alarm services. Lots to unpack here but I'll summarize by explaining when you sign up they don't tell you they play a bait and switch game to avoid giving you service. You get a " control" account to manage the payment and contract but they also have a "my ADT" account where you manage the alarm and camera system they put in. We have a zone that continues to falsely alarm. They came out once and I paid their service fee. Didn't fix it so they mailed me sensors to install so I could avoid the service fee again. I did it as they guided me on FaceTime. One month later it starts problem again. They want to charge me service fee. This is the alarm side of ADT. They say call the office people. I call the contract office people and after much back and forth they agreed to waive the fee. But we have to call the other people who do the service to schedule the service visit and they refuse the fee waiver saying their office people can't waive "their fees" I give up and shut the zone down. 2 days later I get an alert from my credit monitoring service my ADT account is compromised and on the dark web. ADT is broken. I'll never contract either them again and want to warn you all too. read more

Have had ADT for almost 30 years. I had 2 motion detectors say low battery so I changed them out. I figured that its been quite a bit since I changed all the sensor batteries, so I should just call ADT to have them do it, I would buy the batteries myself, ADT just provide the labor. I called ADT, they told me there was a 59.99 charge. I said ok. My appointment was about a week out, and in the mean time a third motion sensor said low battery so I changed it. ADT came to my appointment. I told the tech I needed the sensor batteries changed, he said ok, did they tell you about the 59.99 charge? I said yes. He says did they tell you the other charges? I said what other charges? He said this isnt covered under warranty, so the labor rate is 189 dollars for the first hour, and 60 dollars every 15 minutes past that first hour. I said no, not told about that. He says sorry, I said me too, I dont need you, Bye. Shady damn company read more

The ADT salesman lied about the functions of our main camera and we did not find out that it would not perform as I ordered. What the tech installed works and only partially does what I want it to do. After one day, the camera only worked intermittently and I reported the problem to customer service. A tech came out and changed some wiring but after about 4 hours, problems still existed. A few days later another tech came out, changed the power source and the camera finally worked. But I still advised them that it would not do what I expected to do and wanted to cancel the service. After talking to a gentlemen named "Tillman", he said a tech would come out and gave me a time frame of Noon-4 p.m. When I called to verify, I was told that it was changed to 1 p.m to 5 p.m., which was still OK. When I called again, I was told that the tech was no longer available and the appointment was cancelled with no reschedule and no reason for the cancellation. I set up another appointment and the day of appointment I was called and told that the tech was no longer available and rescheduled for 3 days later. The tech that finally showed up was given the wrong info as to what his appoint was for so the equipment was not removed for the account cancellation. ADT delayed this long enough to collect the monthly service charge and I was told that this is what they do. They have blocked both my home phone and cell numbers and I was able to do "chat". After getting nowhere with the AI bot, I was connected to "Lexi" advised that she could not help but was passing me on. And of course, nothing happened either by text, email or phone. My patience has totally run out and next recourse is with a lawyer if ADT does not take care of this now. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! Yes, they scam customers! With them for many years. Moved down the street. Paid over 5k for new equipment; told previous equip was OBSOLETE. It was 3 years old. Okay, paid by credit card for this new equip, and discovered they would no longer send me a paper bill, and had, HAD to be auto pay. I never agreed to this, never. Tech never expained the above, nor the 3rd party company who apparently roves around checking when alarms go off, which I did not know about, never had, and am now paying $8.00 extra a month. May 2025 my mother past and I had ADT installed to protect the house while it was for sale. The female ADT rep explained to me that I could have a ADT monitoring system installed on a month to month bases until the house sold. I had to pay more monthly ($61.00) for this option. I agreed and the system was installed. On Mar 13, 26 the house sold. I called ADT to cancel the service. And I was told I signed up for a 36 month ADT contract and I owed $1100 to close the account. After speaking with several ADT reps I finally spoke with Michael Wiley (Las Vegas supervisor/manager) He said he would review our concerns and get back with us (that was Sunday 3/15/26). Monday another sales rep called and after we reexplaining our desire to cancel our service, we were given another phone number to call. I called that number and was transferred to five other ADT reps with no conclusion or cancelation of the account. To date we have no hard copy of the original contract, nor can ADT find one. I called Mr. Wiley again, he texted me that he would call me back. I have not heard from him. I would not recommend ADT to anyone or have further service with this company. read more

I will never recommend ADT to anyone. Hidden fees not told about. I went to cancel and they offered to upgrade my system at no charge, all I needed to do was sign a 3 year contract. Come to find out I already had the upgraded system. So I asked if they would give me the flood light camera instead and they said only at a discounted rate. I just had a horrible experience with ADT. My alarm system was malfunctioning and I called them to get help. I was on the phone for 4 hours and had been transferred at least 6 times. They refused to send someone out and said it would be 700.00 if it was an emergency which it was. They still did not come out to solve the problem and I had to call the fire department for help. It is obvious that if you had an emergency they would not help so I highly recommend you do not use ADT!!! We moved to the St. George Utah area and they were all over us to Cell and Install. But then when we need a fix, they set appointments two months out for a simple fix on a motion detector. If there ever was a business that deserved zero stars it is ADT! 1:15 minutes with a live agent chat. :50 minutes and counting on the phone. After three years on contract (and fulfilled) I called to negotiate my services. ADT currently offers monitoring for less than half of what I am currency paying. It also turns out that they sold us their "Control" for home automation, which we did not want and do not have. Their "customer service" is designed to frustrate, passing me from person to person. Now, the person I am on hold for is claiming that they need to have someone else authorize the reduce rate. She comes on every few minutes to say she is still waiting. Posting this here since i sent this to ADT Customer Service and of course never heard back. Where do I begin? I have been a customer of ADT since 2012 at multiple homes. I am currently a customer at two locations(Las Vegas and Redondo Beach, CA). This email is about my experiences at the Las Vegas location. We had 6 cameras and multiple sensors installed back in June when we purchased that house. We specifically told the rep and the installation person that we did not want a battery charged doorbell camera. He installed a Google Nest camera and it worked fine for a 6 weeks or so and then it went offline. I texted the installation person who gave me his cell number and never heard back. We looked at the settings and it showed that there was no battery power. Of course, I thought that was strange since it was supposed be getting power from the wiring it was connected to. I took the phone off the mount, charged the battery and hit the pin hole restart button. I thought that would solve the problem, but two weeks later(last Sunday) it went offline again. I called customer service and they were going to set up an appointment, but when I told them I wasn't home at the time, they would not set up the appointment for me. I found this totally ridiculous, so I asked to speak to her manager. She said her manager wasn't available and that she would call me back the next day. Skeptical, I asked her what are the chances that the manager would actually call me and she said the manager always returns those type calls. Of course the next day came and went and no phone call. I called ADT and spoke to Cesar and he looked at my contract and said that we didn't have the doorbell that I specifically requested. He connected me and my wife who was on the line as well to a manager and she was not willing to do anything since the return period was 3 days for the equipment. I told her that your rep totally misrepresented and didn't provide me the doorbell I requested. I said as a manager, she should be able to work something out(give me credit, etc), but she wanted no part of that. I decided that I will remove the doorbell and not use it at all. I looked at the contract and there went $300 down the drain!! In the meantime, I was also having trouble with the outdoor garage camera that would also go offline periodically, but usually would come back online after an hour or so. I called ADT and the rep walked my wife through the Wifi signal strength test and it was determined that I needed a Wifi extender. I said what type do you recommend and offer and she said she would look that up. Well, she never came back and I ended up getting transferred to a sales person after being on hold for a long time. She said her system wasn't up and running so she couldn't give me a make and model extender. I told her to text, email me or call me back once she had that information and she said she would do that. Of course, I never heard back from her! Today, I was thinking that I may be getting charged for some sort of Google Nest subscription for the doorbell that I wont be using so I decided to call your Billing department. I was connected to someone. I explained my situation and he said to hold on why he looked up my account. He never came back on the line and I was put back in the queue to hold on. I selected the option to have a rep call me back. After about 30 minutes, I was called back, but there was nobody on the other end of the line, so I had to hang up again. All of the above has taken place in a four day period. I have to say that ADT has the absolute worst customer service I have EVER experienced!! If I didn't have a contract with you, I would be done with you tomorrow. I am sure I am not alone in these complaints, but obviously you don't want to do anything about it, which is really disappointing. Don't you have any pride in what kind of company you want to present to the public??? It would be nice to get a reply from someone. Even nicer would be to receive a $300 credit for the doorbell that I will be throwing in the trash after only 2 months. And best of all would be if someone at ADT really cared enough to do something about it. ADT EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I live in a mobile home community. Found a notice on my lamppost from an ADT patrol officer (whose name could not be made out) stating that there was an ALARM ACTIVATION and no problem found. I DO NOT have service with this company. The form had the general address, but no unit number on it. I tried to do the nice thing and called the company to let them know so they could do something about it and they refused because I'm not a customer with them. I'm glad that I'm not with this kind of piss poor customer service. This obviously shows that they really don't care about customers. We were behind on our bill and were offered a new contract that would wipe out any arrears and get us started with a new account. We signed and had our install on 4/23, the contract date. We paid for reinstall and our first month and were promised a 22nd of the month due date. Our first bill came just 12 days later for our first month of service and a bill for over $800 for our old account, which was supposed to be wiped out. We called and were told it was being handled. Next bill came on 6/2, so I called again to get my promised due date of the 22nd. Then my July bill came again on the 2nd and included a $58.68 prorated charge for moving the payment date to.8/22, which it should have been already. Called AGAIN to inquire about the extra $58.68 and was told it had taken ADT 12 days to process our new contract and that's why were being billed for the date being moved instead of the date promised. We entered into this new contract with the understanding that our due would be the 22nd. So much for integrity. It's our contention that this was ADT's error and we shouldn't be billed for their error. It took over a month to get our contract terms honored so I shouldn't be surprised. Beware of this company. I called today to get a Corporate number and was given four different numbers that all terminated in the identical phone tree as the original I called in on. Apparently no one at ADT knows how to reach their Corporate HQ and it doesn't sound like they are using U.S. based support so communication was difficult. All because they were begging me to upgrade for a "few more dollars/month$$ AND new equipment costing ME the valued customer over $350!. After being passed to 3 different people I am told I cannot get my PREPAID MAY PAYMENT of $29.99 because I didn't give 30 days notice. Basically ADT stole my money for services I will not use for the month of May!! Representative #3 tells me the contract says whether you pay or NOT the customer will not get refunded if it wasn't a 30 day notice. When my Dear Mother passed away and I requested to cut off the account, they turned it OFF THE SAME DAY amd sent back the difference of un-used autopay. SO BEWARE AND READ everything!! They make the rules according to what they choose to honor. Being prior Military, I have never had an issue like this and often times we had no choice in canceling any services when we got orders to move. ADT pretends to care about customers, but after all the smooth talking, you get more equipment, but out of pocket costs and and higher bill!! ADT is in no hurry to call you when your alarm goes off. When you call them for service be prepared to wait 25 minutes or more. Then should you need to speak to the "manager" don't be surprised that you will have to wait another 30 minutes. When I received the call back I was waiting for no one to speak! I wish I did before signing up, but I was blinded by the fact that they're one of the oldest security companies and I thought I could trust them. I started having issues Soon after my systems were installed. At only a couple months, I started getting notifications that the batteries in my sensors were critically low. I also never receive notifications from my door bell or camera devices until hours later. The sensors will trigger "burglary" for no reason. I reported these issues and was told they'll send someone to check it out. What they failed to mention is that it included a $99 charge. When I questioned it, they told me it was in the contract. They purposely hid it in the contract knowing no one would actually spend hours reading pages and pages of contract. I highly recommend checking out other companies before you decide on this one. Absolutely do not recommend. My experience with them has been absolutely horrible and frustrating! Addendum: This morning, my alarm went off again and they sent security at 0830. I didn't get notified until 10:20. I called and after long waits and multiple transfers, received no help or any concrete resolution to the issue. Yesterday my alarm panel displayed that I needed to change the battery on my living room motion detector. I replaced the battery and the panel continued to display that I needed to change the battery on the motion detector. I called the 1-800 number and spoke with a technician and resolved the issue. Today the alarm control panel displayed motion detector malfunction. I could not reset my alarm and decided to make an appointment with a technician. The appointment is set for this afternoon at which time I fully expect them to replace the motion detector. I have had ADT as my home alarm company for three years now. They are excellent. I run my home Asian style and the ADT technicians that have come in the past always had plastic booties on hand. They are always respectful, kind and responsible. I probably expected more than they normally deliver. 4 hour response time for when the alarm was going off, that was great. Excuse was lack of staffing by the ADT person who showed up. The manager I spoke with did give me a month free as a band-aid. Now that I moved, and I need to close out the account, that process has been terrible. Talked to one rep who said I was all set, and then did nothing. No final bill, and an additional charge as the new house occupant set off the alarm. Called back in and spoke with May, who could not explain the process at all. She said she could take the payment, and that it would close. I give the payment info, and then I am told there is a 30 day notice.... but I do not live there anymore and I want to pay out the contract, the amount is the same either way if I wait 30 days or not. Then she comes back to tell me that they cannot charge me $400 and I need to talk to the cancelleation department. They ofcourse have a 25 minute hold (probably for no reason other than pissing off folks, or they have a lot of clients leaving). If ADT reads this, here is one take away. The phone sound quality has been terrible for all my calls to ADT. Really terrible sound quality, to the point I had to ask for them to repeat several times. I make other calls to other places and no sound issues. Also some of the agents have a hard time with English, but that is expected as they have the lowest cost folks with probably no education etc, answering calls. I would give 0 stars if I could. I paid for a camera system that has never worked. ADT refuses to even speak with me regarding this nor will they give me my money back. Out of nine cameras I have 3 that are permanently OUT of COMMISSION and a fourth that goes in and out. Use a different company!!! I made the mistake of using ADT and have been regretting it. They make it impossible to transfer service if you move to a different house. During my move, they told me to leave all the equipment at the old house because they will install new equipment at the new house. I told them I wouldn't do that if I was going to be charged for it. They ensured me I wouldn't. Ha! Without telling me, they charged my credit card $2300. When I called them about this they said the charge was a mistake and they would issue a refund. Well--I have been going back and forth with them for two months now. I even received an email last month confirming the refund was being processed. Now today, a month after that email, I still don't have my refund. I'm talking to them on the phone as I write this review. They still cannot figure out how to get me my refund! Save yourself the hassle--do not use ADT!!! If you move ADT requires you to pay off the existing equipment. I don't have a problem with that because now I own it and don't need to make further installment payments, but they will not allow you to use it at your new house.
