I have been to a handful of medical Supply stores throughout the States & I can without a doubt say…read morethat the variety of their in-store inventory is top notch. They have supplies that will be of great use to anyone who needs it regardless of how their medical issue affects them. When I went to the store, I could tell that the two employees working were from South America based on their accent & way of speaking. I was pleased to find out that it was her daughter & mother wotking there & that they're both from Venezuela! So, if you are someone who makes the effort to support businesses who employ people from South Ameri a, then here's another business to add to your list

I found Elite Home Medical Supply via a simple Google search; they were the first and last business…read moreI called. Normally, I read reviews and shop around, but considering the customer service I received from Mark on our first phone call, I knew I found the right place. Anyone who has ever experienced a medical emergency knows time is of the essence, so when my once mobile mom came home from the hospital (and couldn't walk), we were scared and helpless. I called Elite Home Medical Supply on a Saturday morning (of Memorial Day weekend) to inquire about Hoyer Lifts. Mark answered and told me he could deliver one Tuesday. After telling him about our situation, he made some adjustments, and delivered the lift with his son, Jake, that same afternoon. To add to that, they both stayed to give us a tutorial while we practiced using the lift with my sister-in-law. After that, my sister-in-law went to the store to purchase a commode and bedside table. At the store she was accommodated by rockstar employee, Jasmine. I think the fact that Google revealed to me Elite Home Medical Supply, which is 35 minutes from my home, was divine intervention. These people are angels, and my family is forever grateful. Thank you, Emergency Home Medical Supply, for being there for my family when we needed you the most.

We run a charity and we had a walking pilgrimage planned for months. I twisted my ankle 3 days…read morebefore the pilgrimage and was sure I was not going to go unless I find someone that had a wheelchair. No luck with that, we decided to call many different medical supply companies and Howard was the only responsive company that seemed genuinely interested to help us. We explained what we were doing and Camela was very thrilled when he heard about our charity and event. She was very nice and even suggested a scooter will be better if I want to move more freely on the pilgrimage. She was able to accommodate us in a very special way. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great service from people who care.

Scenario: your 74-yr-old small-town living, farm-dweller MI mother had her knee replaced 10 weeks…read moreago. She is doing well, still needs a cane but she cannot walk more than a couple of blocks. But, by god, nothing's going to stop her. "I am getting on Amtrak and coming to Chicago!" she tells you. My mother is nothing if not ballsy - or should I say "ovariesy?" I fret, "what are we going to DO with her? She can't keep up with us." This is where Howard Medical Company comes in. This place is the bomb! $15 per day gets you a 18" transport wheelchair (250 lb. weight capacity) - SO easy to fold up, has handles to carry it - fits into your Honda Civic tiny ass trunk. I talked to a woman named Bernie by phone - nice as hell - who says "we have plenty - no need to worry." They open at 8 am - I am there at 8:05 am - assisted by yet another wonderfully nice employee named Jim. He shows me how to fold it, adjust it, etc. This is too easy -pinch me, I am dreaming. I race home to our apt, Metropolis coffee in hand, and say, "Duretta Jean, get in the car - we are Chubby Girl walking at the lake!" Then to Target, then neighborhood strolling, then...oh the possibilities are now endless! A week I was once dreading has now become so much easier. Check them out!

I was driving down Dempster on Friday night, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a sign that said…read more"Wheelchair Servicing." I told my partner we were going to see what that was, and I turned the car around, pulled into the small retail mall, and at the end of the mall was a business called, "Mobility City." We went in, and I was greeted by Geoff, the owner, and his service man who works on the wheelchairs. We talked a bit on what needed to be done on my wheelchair. The service man took it to the back of the store, steam cleaned it, tightened up the "wiggle," and replaced the two arm rests. A really great improvement for a tune up! Feels light new!! I was really impressed by his customer skills, and the eagerness he had for getting me back my wheelchair in tiptop shape! Quite by accident I found this place, and I'm very glad I did, because I did not think that there were any mobility Wheelchair stores in the area. The store is a modest size, and deals with a few different types of mobility services, including mobile wheelchairs WHICH ONE CAN RENT if need be! I am so glad I found this shop. The repair prices were decent, the replacement parts were affordable, and he was able to look at his inventory to see if other parts on my wheelchair could be replaced. I heartily recommend anyone who has mobility assisted devices to seriously check him out. I was very pleased with his service, and I now know if I need any parts for my wheelchair, he's right there to help.

The salesperson we spoke with was really helpful and they had several options to try out.
