Very, very bad place and management overall. They seem like have no clue what they're doing at all. We first went there to just simply buy windshield wipers and online it was cheaper compared to in store. They have a price match guarantee policy on their website so everything should be all good right? Not at all! The first employee said he can't price match and recommended us to buy it online so we could still get it for the online price. We asked him how long that would take, and he said could be 5 minutes or up to half hour. That's fine, so we bought the item online. Immediately money was removed from our account but the confirmation email that it was purchased never came. After half hour and the email still never came, we asked the employee and he didn't have anything on their end too. So something was going on with that website. Then he recommended us to talk to Jenny, an older female at the store. Okay, fine. So we wait in her line to speak with her because you know common courtesy. There was another Asian male in front of us and somehow this (not to play races but apparently they do) white guy who skipped the Asian guy started asking Jenny a question about exchange she decided to help him first instead of the people standing in line. She took a long time with him but nothing you can really do at this point but wait. There goes another ~10 min. Then the first employee asked her a question about an online purchase and she left us without even glancing at us to assist him. Okay, you have customers in front of you RIGHT NOW but you decide to go assist something that could be done after? They take some more time to deal with their online stuff and finally, finally we get to speak to Jenny. Their website has a price match guarantee but they all insist that they don't?? We show her the policy online and all she can say is "we don't match online prices" barely looking at us. Its not even an item from a competitor, it's an item from their own online store. Then the phone rings, she doesn't even ask us or the caller to hold and just starts to talk to whoever is on the phone. Overall, very rude attitude. I don't expect her to be happy and shit but come on, common decency would be nice. Maybe it's time for advanced auto parts get rid of their price match if they can't follow it or retrain their staff so they actually know what a policy means. I showed up this evening to get new windshield wipers, as I realized how badly I needed them in this awful weather. The worker (I wish I got his name) not only directed me on which ones to get, but also changed them for me in the cold, pouring rain. I had to drive about 2 hours afterwards so I'm so so grateful that he went above and beyond (and got soaking wet) to make sure I was set up for safety. I don't have any use to come to an auto part store except for when I need windshield wipers. And that is exactly what I come here for. There is always a decent pair on sale and the staff is quick to tell me which ones I need, ring me up and offer to put then on my car for me. Last year they put them on in what was best described as a hurricane while I sat dry in my car. This year I declined bc my fiance insisted he could put them on (boys will be boys). Wouldn't you know, one of the staff members popped out just to check in to see if everything was going okay and we did need a little extra help. Ok, I know it's an auto parts store and not the Ritz-Carlton, but Jesus. I showed up to pick up a part that I ordered, and to begin with there's an older female employee standing at the door simultaneously smoking and coughing up a lung. I go in, and I'm the only person in the place. I stand there for 10 minutes while she continues her front door smoke break. Another employee finally comes out of the back room and sees me, but doesn't even acknowledge my existence. He goes about his business for another 5 minutes and then finally ambles over. In the interim, the phone starts ringing, he picks it up, and proceeds to have a profanity laced conversation with whoever is on the other end. Then "Smokey" finally comes back inside and leaves her half smoked cigarette on the counter in front of me. Overall gross, rude and lousy customer service. read more

I asked if they can order it for me so I don't have to order again online and they said they would... 3 days later they never ordered it and once again said to go to another store to find it unless I can wait another day for them to order it. I occasionally order things online with Advance Auto Parts when they have 40-50% discount codes and I ordered once to pickup from Quincy AAP. Unlike the Roslindale and Norwood AAP, the store had my order all ready in a box to be picked up once I arrived. Unlike the Roslindale and Norwood AAP, they even checked my ID. Since I only went to that store once, my positive experience with them could have be a fluke. Maybe during that day when I ordered, the employees were bored and had nothing else to do but fulfill the online orders? Also, on numerous times, they have gone out of their way to help me check something such as anti-freeze level, lights that may be out, touch-up paint colour, and size of screws for something on the interior, etc... They always seem to give me an honest answer. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because I can never seem to find decent wheel covers for my car here. I like the guys that were working, they did not make me feel stupid when I couldn't answer all the questions. I checked the website for this particular store and it said they off engine scans for check engine lights here. I went in and was told they do not offer it there. I said "oh. Okay. that's weird your webpage says this particular site does." I got a rude "I'm trying to tell you that you can go to the gulf station and they will call us with what part you need." I asked if it was something I can walk in and do and was told it was. This was annoying because I already drove by that gulf location and that to go back there would mean sitting in a lot of traffic. I get to gulf and the person that checks engines is not always there and could do not it after I sat back in traffic. Maybe consider updating your webpage so that it has accurate information and I don't have to waste my time driving all over. Everyone there was friendly and very knowledgeable. Scott tested my fobs, told me I needed batteries and installed them. He retested them and I was good to go. Cost me about seven bucks. When you enter this store , an employee is there to offer you help for what your looking for . I don't waste any time searching the store for an item , I go to the cashier/employee and ask him or her to look up what I am looking for . Also they show me what they have and the different prices for the item I want to purchase . Advance Auto wants your business and will go out of there way to help you get the right part for your car .My windshield washer hose broke and all I did is say that , and the staff brought me over to where the items I needed were and said I'll need this , this , and this . I went and repaired my broken hose and it took all of 10 mins , thanks to getting the right parts .They're prices are competitive , and unless it's a special item , they can order it and you get it in a couple days . An Autozone is opening closer to me , and I'll have to check it out and see what it's like to shop there . I sometimes bring my registration with me if I need an important part that requires more info than just a 2003 Ford Taurus . Advanced Auto is a stand up store and never hesitate or worry about shopping there !! read more
