I went in to buy a new battery and even though Advance advertises that they take out and re-install new batteries purchased there, I just knew that I was gonna be doin' the work myself. That was NOT the case however and the guy that sold me the new battery went and grabbed it off the shelf AND reinstalled it for me (All while providing a bit of good conversation, a pleasant attitude and ample smiles)...And it was HOTTER than Satan's butt crack out there that day!! Love this place. This is my go to auto store. I Come here every time that I need any auto parts and help. They have a mechanic here on site every day except Sunday from 12-6pm. Save hours of your time and energy ad just go to the 3330 S Cobb Dr SE location 5 minutes down the street. I called 2 days in a row trying to get a new battery since mine that was less than a year old is already weak and needing to be jumped regularly. Over the phone I was met wit employees that honestly had no clue what was going on in the store. I had to coach the employee to call the manager and how to frame the question to receive best results (because the manager wasn't in for 2 days straight even tho I was being told she was "on way back" repeatedly) I finally get to the store after they tell me to come in and magically there are 4 batteries on their books but they can't find any of them after they search in the back for an hour..... I was later directed down the street to the 3330 S Cobb Dr SE where you will receive much better service. read more

My car would not start for work on Monday morning. I hitched a ride to the office, and opted to deal with my issue after work. Around 6pm or so, I was able to get a neighbor to give me a jump and I ventured to Advance Auto Parts. Upon walking in someone spoke to me. I walked over to the counter and asked if my battery could be checked. The staff said "pop your hood." I knew things were going to go downhill quickly. The employee lacked any personality and seemed to be upset at the entire world! She grabbed a gadget and proceeded to hook this contraption up to my car. She then tells me to get into my car and rev the engine!-- say what??? Now it has been several years since I have purchased a battery. I don't know much about cars, but I do know that in order to test a battery the car does not have to be started. After revving my engine about 3 times she gives me a print out showing that my battery is good. I told her that it did not make sense, she suggested I have my starter checked. It was already after 7pm, so my next plan was just to borrow a friends car to get around the next day. On the way to her house I saw O'Reilly Auto Parts and decided to get another battery test. The employees in the store were 10 times nicer and so helpful. Guess what? I was not asked to start my car for the battery to be tested. I did have to turn it on for them to check the alternator and the starter. This time the report showed bad battery, good alternator and starter. I purchased a new battery and some jumper cables from O'Reilly. My car is as good as new again! Advance Auto Parts needs to properly train their employees on the proper use of contraptions and on what customer service is. NOTE: save yourself the time and energy and just go about 2 miles down the road to O'Reilly Auto Parts, You will not regret it! read more

I had to get some AntiFreeze for my car. I pass by this store all the time but haven't needed to use it. I decided to go after passing by another Advanced Auto Parts as this was close to home and I wanted to check out my "neighborhood" store. The staff was very nice. I told her I needed it checked so I popped my hood open and she comes out with nothing in her hands and she just starts looking around confused ASF! She would touch the battery box and then wipe herself from her shirt like if she didn't want to dirty herself! They advertise that they replace your battery for free. NOT TRUE!!!! Brought my car and it has the battery on the trunk. I had aready open it up so all they had to do was unplug the battery and replace it, but the counter man "Sterling" tells me that they do not replace batteries on the trunk, but he will do it for $40.00 but I couldn't tell anybody! I'm really impressed with the service here. Tyler was really helpful in finding the right windshield wiper blades for my car, since most don't fit the arms of my wipers. (I've heard that from multiple car part vendors and he showed me why the others don't fit, so I know it wasn't an up sell.) He put the actual blades on my car to make sure they fit before charging me. The price was reasonable and Tyler even got me a discount! He also recommended I take note of the part number since most other blades won't fit on my car. The people here really care that you get what you need for your car, and don't try to overcharge or sell you things you don't need. I will definitely be back to Advance Auto Parts the next time I need something for my car! read more

I needed a new battery for my car. Advance had a large selection in stock, and even offered free onsite installation, saving me the hassle of doing it myself and bringing the old battery back for an exchange. How cool! I wish I knew about that policy before. They even do the same for wiper blades, and probably other maintenance items every car needs. To top it off, the prices are reasonable, and their hours are convenient. While the Napa store in my neighborhood closes at 4 on Saturdays and is closed on Sunday, Advance is open from 730am-9pm Monday-Saturday and 9-6 on Sundays! read more

Had a pretty negative experience with a store associate here yesterday. My car battery had died, so I got a jump start and came in for a replacement. I had a coupon that wasn't scanning, so the guy helping me put in some code to give me $20 off. He could have left it at that and I would have been happy, but he kept telling me (untruthfully, I'm sure) that the discount was coming out of his own pocket. Then after installing the battery for me, he flat out asked me for cash, saying that most people give tips for service. I said no, and that I was pretty sure he wasn't allowed to take tips. When I got back to my office, I contacted Advance's customer service, who apologized and confirmed to me that tips are against company policy. Definitely won't be coming back to this location. I'm not a fan of being ripped off by unsavory employees. read more

Probably my favorite Auto store in the area. Very helpful staff each time I come in. Today out of nowhere, my engine light decides to make an appearance on my dash. Not having my typical OBD code reader with me (packed), I call to see if they read engine codes for free. Not expecting much, as I just came from a state where Auto stores won't read codes (no thx California) the staff member said "we do, no problem". Hallelujah! That alone will save about $150 plus at any dealership. Aside from code reading, they have a great selection of pretty much any automotive item you'd need. If you don't see it in the floor, they can get it for you. No complaints here & thanks to the staff for getting me the info I needed !! read more

This is my base auto parts store that I buy from, at least once a week. I do side mechanic work for a number of friends and associates so I'm always buying something, from oil and brake pads to sensors, axles, and bigger stuff. They were eager to set me up on a commercial account for greater discounts, they always greet me when I come in, and 95% of the time have the part in stock, if not it's ordered and there later in the day. In a pinch I can even run to their warehouse on Fulton Industrial so I've never had to wait for anything. Quick, proficient, and knowledgeable, just what an auto parts store should be. read more

I had the best experience this morning at Advance Auto Parts, S Cobb Dr. I'm an uber driver and am driving this evening (NYE). I wanted to put a tarp on my backseat to avoid anyone throwing up on my seat and ruining it. Jason suggested I purchase a back seat cover. He quoted me a price and showed me the one he had just purchased for his own car. He then called another location and had them place it on hold. He then RETURNED HIS CAR SEAT COVER AND ALLOWED ME TO PURCHASE IT. The one on hold at the other location was for him to purchase. Jason then went one step further and installed it himself. Ok let's see, so I know nothing about cars so I came here to get a fuel chip or something. Spoke to Raymond and he was telling me he needs the fuel box to further assist me...I'm like ok where is it he stated that he doesn't know...instead of looking it up or coming outside (which I understand they can't) I didn't like his attitude so a young lady assisted me....she was nice but unfortunately she showed me the wrong box. So I had leave and come back. As soon as I walked in a young lady with some little shorts walks in and needed help and Mr. Raymond sure enough followed her outside with no hesitation looking at her car with the hood up in front of the store!!!!! Clearly unfair bc he acted like he could not help me. I let Chris know and course no 1 had anything to say, just "I'll talk to him" Did not like that so for future car items I will go to Auto Zone or somewhere else.
