This guy wrote back to me with a flat fee of $200, which sounded great. When I asked how long he would have the car, he said two hours if no pet hair. I reminded him that there was pet hair, and suddenly the rate became $300. I get that pet hair is a huge pain! I don't mind that he charges $300 for it. What I do mind is that he pretended not to know I had dog hair in the car so he could make me a low offer, then added it on later once he had my attention. I tried to discuss this with him, and he kept telling me to just go to another detailer if I didn't like his price. I was still trying to explain that it wasn't about his price, it was about the way he lowballed me up front only to raise the price later. He never acknowledged this and just kept arguing about how fair his price is. Either he's not smart enough to understand my point or he's too shady to admit he did something wrong. Either way, I can see why so many of these reviews badmouth this guy.

With an older car (assuming it is in good mechanical condition) and no collusion insurance, one…read moremoderately inexpensive way to fix that car after an accident, is to remove parts (especially body parts and certain mechanical parts, e.g., the radiator) and use them instead of new parts. However, it takes a good auto body shop with skilled personnel to provide that expertise and service. Central Illinois did an excellent job on my car; they even found a Kia sportage (blown engine) of the same color to use for parts for my car, to eliminate the cost of a new paint job. FYI, with insurance, the insurance company will often pressure you to select a repair shop that will use cheaper new parts to save the insurance company money. YOU MAKE the FINAL SELECTION for the repair shop, so work that has an insurance company behind it would ALSO be best done at a reputable and highly competent body shop, like Central Illinois.

They scheduled an appointment immediately, had the leak fixed before I even got back to work, made the car available to me after hours when I could pick it up, and CHARGED ME NOTHING FOR THE SERVICE. Yeah, I like that. This is going to be my regular service place. Manager Kami is great. Technician Jarrett is great. Very glad these good people are operating this good business in my community.

Showed me proof and went above and beyond to even fix a manufacturing flaw in my hubcap just to save my valve stem when another shop just put the stem on crooked.
