He then so "nope go to uhaul" uh no! We want to buy one not rent one. My husband started to walk out and I said on line it says we could order one. He said yes we do not carry them. But I have to have a part number. Well we did not have that. He was not friendly did not want to help. So we took our business to autozone where they had one in stock and they appreciated our business!

Asked me what I needed and i said "i just need a head light". The guy said "i don't even know where those are". I said "Really? Looks like they are a couple aisles up..." And he turns to someone else and asked where the "head weights" were. I don't even know what that means, but anyway. He asked if I knew what bulb it needed and I said not right off, but I can find it. He said he has to look it up in his computer. It took him a good 5 minutes to look it up and then showed me options up in the 70 dollar range. I said "for a headlight?" and about that time an older guy came over to help. He asked if I wanted the high beams or the regular and I said it's the regular headlight. They looked at it for a while and then the first guy said they kept those in the back. And he walked, like a snail, to the back and came back out a couple minutes later with a 2 pack. I told him I just needed one. He disappeared again, then the older guy decided to help again and brought me something from the original aisle I was going to look at anyway. When ringing it up they just added on the headlight grease add-on item without even asking me as if it's a requirement of installing a headlight. I am not a fan of automatic, unasked add-on items. Poor business practice. After all that, they gave me the wrong headlight. He sold me a Sylvania 9005, when i took the old light out it was a 9006. Turns out the connectors are slightly difference (the 9006 has one tab in the middle, the 9005 has two) so it doesn't even fit. Looks like now after being in that store for way too long already I am going to have to go back up and get it exchanged. Can't wait to see what they try to sell me next. After getting this straight, I won't go back.

As a mechanic it frustrates me dealing with shops that try to get over on the general public. I dropped my car off the night before for a simple state inspection. This means they literally had all day the next day to do a 15 minute job. I put on my work order that they could just call me when it was finished. Well the next day I didn't hear anything from them. Knowing they close at 5pm, at 4:40 I decided I better call. Here is how it went -high I am calling about my car -oh yeah it's done -don't you close in 20 minutes? -yeah, I was going to call you (really? When?) -I'm not sure I can make it there by 5. -you can pay over the phone and pick it up tomorrow (I guess they figure people don't need their cars back when they drop them off) -your car was rejected. The steering is "unsecured" and there is an exhaust leak "at the flange". We will have to "figure out how to fix it". So I dropped everything and went and picked up my car. Yep the steering was "unsecured". It had a bolt that was loose. One out of 5 bolts. It took 10 seconds to tighten it. I used an exhaust sniffer on the entire exhaust system and no leak was found. So I tightened the bolt and took it to a reputable shop where it passed without any issues. Obviously they didn't find the mysterious exhaust leak either This is the same new management that failed another car of mine for "loose exhaust hangers". These are the little indestructible rubber donuts that hold the exhaust to the frame. You can look at a 100 year old car and the originals are still fine. I took the car home. Cleaned up the hangers that were on the car and put amoral on them to make them shine. Took it back and said I replaced them and oddly enough it was now fine and the car passed. This reminds me of shops that need to "adjust" your headlights or it will be rejected. I used Back Bay because while not cheap, when Don owned it if he said something was wrong with your car you could bank on it and it was convenient. Now if my car breaks down in their parking lot I'll have it towed out rather than use them again.

Then, after I got the issue fixed, I headed back to the shop to get my inspection sticker and they'd closed early for xmas eve! There was NO signage on the door. On the Friday following xmas, I headed out early before work to try and get the problem resolved again, and the shop was still closed with NO SIGNAGE stating they'd be closed- they also had no prompt on their answering service stating they'd be closed. They wasted my time with the poor communication, and I felt angry when the tech smiled while handing me my rejection sticker. Wouldn't recommend this chaotic, unprofessional place.

I stopped by my nearby Discount Tire on a Thursday around 1:30pm because my Tire Pressure light was…read moreon. When you pull in, there's an "Air Check" area near the service stations where you can park to have your tires checked without getting out of your car. As soon as I arrived, there wasn't anyone in line so I was hoping it would be a quick service. While I waited, one of the staff came over to the car to let me know that they would be able to service me in a moment. After waiting about 15 mins, I called the store to let them know I was waiting and was told that they were short staffed that day, which was the reason for the delay. Unfortunately, I waited another 5-10 minutes before being serviced but the staff were very nice and thanked me for waiting. Even though only one tire had low pressure, he checked all of my tires, which I appreciated. I love that Discount Tire offers the free, tire pressure service. It's super convenient and it helps people like me not have to worry about putting air in their tire on their own lol! It's normally a quick service, so if your tire pressure is low, definitely stop in!
