The younger staff are extremely unhelpful, often times there's a staff member just sitting around with their hands in their pockets while a line forms at one register. Staff are also standoffish and weirdly rude with no prior interaction. read more

I had a terrible experience. I walked into Advanced Auto Parts and an employee took my phone as a joke and also made jokes about me. I got my wiper blades removed and replaced and when they were removed, the same employee threw them on the ground almost hitting me. Wow. This place is amazing. I had the best customer service experience I've had in a long time yesterday - and from such an unexpected place. It just goes to show that some kindness can go a really long way and come when you least expect it. I rushed over yesterday, found the cheap jumper cables I was looking for and stood in line, admittedly frustrated that it was taking so long to get rung up because the two guys inside were taking their time with really going in-depth on questions and answers and looking up availability of the items for the two customers they were helping. Finally, one of them was done and I placed my single item, the jumper cables, on the counter. The guy looked at me, I think his name is Frank, and said, "Is this for an emergency? Like one time thing?" I told him yes, my boyfriend was waiting at my house to jump his car. He said, "I'll loan you some." I was kind'a shocked. He went in the back, brought me out some jumper cables which he said were better than the ones I was buying anyway, and said I could bring them back later that day or the following morning. How kind! He said not to worry about the cables I was buying, he'd put them back for me and good luck. He didn't really ask for my info or details because I think he could see I was harried and stressed. He just trusted that his act of kindness would be enough for me to come back and do the right thing. I returned them this morning to another gal working inside who said it must've been Frank I spoke with and she'd let him know I said thank you. And I do really appreciate that small act when I was super stressed out. I could already see they were going above and beyond with the people they were helping in front of me and that would've been enough, but I'll be loyal to this store from here on out for my automotive needs, who wouldn't? read more

I've been here a few times now to get some light replacements and other small items for my car. This place is located in the Red Mill Commons shopping center. It's right next to Upton Dr. by the Golden Corral. The outside of the place has ample parking and the storefront is similar to that of all other Advance Auto Parts places I have seen. This is the closest Advance Auto Parts place for me, and I have never been disappointed here. The reason for my most recent visit was to get a bulb for a burned out tail light. So, after getting in the store and being immediately greeted, I went over to the lights for cars. After looking through the book, I found the light that I needed. After completing the purchase, the person helping me offered to put the light in for me. I'm glad he did that, as there were quite a few things that had to be moved first to get to the spot to change the light. After verifying the light worked, we were on our way. Overall, I've had some great experiences here. If you're in the area and need an auto parts store, this is definitely the one to come to. This is the chain store that is just down the street from us and seems always ready when I have a car emergency. What sets them apart from other chain auto supply stores, is that they are nice and frankly extremely helpful. A recent situation came up where I was in need of a battery. As usual I got a jump from the Harris Teeter parking lot when my car wouldn't start. Thank you to some good Samaritans. We went to Advanced and purchase a battery. The great staff there got the right battery and even changed it out for us in the parking lot. Where this is better than purchasing one at Walmart is that they hook a gizmo into the car and you do not lose all your data from your various electronics items. Young man doing the replacement even checked to make sure we could get our Audi battery replaced in there because some mix of automobiles do not allow it to be replaced in a store like advanced. Bingo we couldn't so we have to go to the dealer. Thanks to the staff for being there when we needed them. Even give 10% discount to veterans which brings the pricing in line with Walmart. That a service car doesn't lose their data we have to enter a bunch of codes and friendly sales people win win win read more

I normally have good service at this location, however they really let me down today. I bought a set of front rotors but they weren't in stock. The clerk at the counter said they had to be ordered and they'd be in the following morning. I asked if he was sure and if they would be open since the next day would be July 4th and he assured me they would. Needless to say, when I called today (July 4th), I was told there would be no deliveries today due to the holiday. Additionally, if I wanted to pick them up, I'd have to go over to the College Park location since that's where they were ordered from. I'm heading back to get a refund and going to NAPA for my parts. read more

I had went in to advance on Thursday to see if they had fuel injectors for the vw they could order them and offered one day shipping for 20.00 dollars I said okay here I am still sitting in the parking lot at 5:00 Friday evening still waiting I'm live on Knotts Island about a 40 min.drive they told my between 1:00 and 2:00 40 min.times 2 is a long ride I will never order from them again Well it's Saturday and I still have not get my parts so much for there next order it looks like I have to miss a day of work to take the wife to the doctor this is getting to a pricey next day delivery if I know it was going to be this long I could of order them on line for half the price read more
