The technician working on my car informed me and showed me first-hand that both of my front rims were bent badly (most likely due to the crappy roads in VA) and referred me to another shop for repair. Greatly appreciated the information and brought to light why my steering wheel would shake badly when going above 40mph. Ended up shifting the newly replaced tires from the front to the back as the tech advised to reduce the "shaking" until i could repair the rim damage. My visit was simply to perform an oil change on my vehicle. As a first-time user of one of the vehicle lifts, I respectfully asked for assistance and a brief demonstration on how to operate the equipment safely. Instead of providing guidance, I was told to "figure it out" on my own. Given the potential safety concerns involved with operating automotive lifts, I found this response both inappropriate and concerning. When I acknowledged the sarcastic tone and lack of assistance I was receiving, the employee became defensive and stated that he would not tolerate my "attitude." Despite the fact that I had only requested help and expressed concern about how I was being treated, he refused to provide service, closed the service window in my face, and effectively ended the interaction without resolving the issue. I was genuinely surprised by the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism displayed during this encounter. They gave me the wrong oil filter and I realized it once I tried to put the O-ring on. The manager, James, was hell-bent on telling me that the rubber O-ring was "covered in oil" and thus unrefundable even though it was Advance Auto who sold me the wrong filter. No apologies were offered. Instead, James compared both the old and new O-rings by pulling them with his fingers to show me they were the same size. Ridiculous. Never going back. Too many other auto parts places in and around Larchmont. See ya.
