My colleague recommended Nick and his shop for the body work of my wife's Jaguar XF. The housing of the the headlamp was shattered and the aluminum hood was bend visibly. Most of the shops told me that a new headlamp unit was needed, which costs more than $2,500 plus tax. And if I chose to replace the hood, that's another $1,800 plus tax and paint job. Nick and his staff Meriam helped me find one used unit on ebay for less than $500 and they repaired and re-painted the aluminum hood for $1,250. This center was referred by my mechanics after a minor car accident so my first time there. My mechanics gave a brief introduction but .. just an introduction. I was quite uncertain when I talked to the front desk at first. After Nick came in, he introduced his plan, schedule and the estimated time my car could be done. Since I had to pay rental car, I started to follow up the next day. Everything was going smoothly as he said: Insurance company came and gave estimate the 2nd day, repairing started and my car was ready as scheduled on the 4th day so I could pick it up at the end of that day. I had minor dents on the nose of my car. The part was separable from the body and made of plastic. I had several estimates from the auto body shops on Evelyn Avenue in Mountain View, where you can find rows of auto body and repair shops. One quoted more than $1,000; the other said $300. A Google advice suggested $250-300 so I was thinking about settling with the second estimate. Nick proposed a way to fix the damage with minimum work, which cost me less than $100. I had a very deep dent in my fender and some scratches in my new car that needed repair. The fender had to be replaced. Advanced Auto Repair was recommended among other body shops by someone on Nextdoor and I decided to get a quote from them and another shop. My insurance company had already issued a check which was below the quotes I got but Miriam said she would deal with them and I just needed to provide the check and my deductible after the repair was done. After the necessary parts arrived I brought my car in. The repair was completed when promised, the paint was matched and blended perfectly so that the car looked like new again, and the car was washed. I couldn't ask for a better job. read more

I was referred by Yarnell's Service Center (where I have been a customer since before Dale purchased the current location). I needed only minor repairs to my 2002 Toyota Tundra to replace the back bumper, reapply clear coat to plastic fender flairs, mirror and tail gate handle. I enjoyed working with Miriam, their office manager, who gave me options and a fair price since I was paying out of pocket. After hitting a curb with my car (BMW Z4) up in the hills in Palo Alto, the AAA guy told me to go to that place instead of the place AAA was recommending. Nick, the manager, explained to me a couple time, until I understood, what was needed to fix my car, and there was a lot. Since I was paying out of pocket, he gave me over $500 discount by just charging me the parts that he would replace (not the whole kit you have to get at the dealership). He told me it would take 5 days to get ready. When I show up 5 days later, calling in advance to make sure my car was ready, I found my car NOT ready... Told me to come back 2 days later, car was ready but not detailed and covered in some paint residual. I had to go back there again. He also fixed a bunch of cosmetic stuff for free, helped me out by giving me a ride or offering very low rental car price. The body job is fantastic, they know how to do it. Mechanical job, I can't complain, my car is running perfectly fine and they did fix my ABS sensor wires for free. In the end they made a great job, for cheap. No 5 star because the service is not top notch since they were late and I had to go back there a few times. My car was in a HORRIBLE accident, while driving on 17 (Santa Cruz) and I took my car to several places to understand the amount of damage that was done to avoid body shops that wanted to take short-cuts and just do a quick job. The owner thoroughly expected my car and even called one of his head technicians to double check, and they both pin pointed out many issues that were sometimes addressed and sometimes not addresses by other body shops. I am very fortunate that I got a chance to work with Mariam and Nick. They are very honest, straight forward and treat their customers with respect. Their estimate on repairs are very reasonable and explained to me the reasons why it needed to be replaced.
