i see Eve, the Nurse Practitioner, and she is excellent! I am receiving a treatment that requires several visits, and every time she is pleasant, professional, and answers all of my questions, and has educated me about other skin issues I have.. She is very knowledgeable. I have been to other dermatology clinics, and I find Eve to be outstanding, as she makes me feel comfortable, and is willing to address a couple of things during my visit. There is a wait at times, but it's worth it, as all of my concerns are addressed and I never feel rushed. I highly recommend Eve and Dr. Joshua Fox. I haven't seen the other practitioners. read more

In my opinion, both ADPC offices I went to gave the impression that their business model prioritizes Mohs surgery over potentially simpler, less invasive, and less expensive alternatives. What started for me as a lesion that was approximately 3mm in diameter became a medical nightmare I am still dealing with almost three years later with multiple rounds of painful, stressful, and expensive scar revision elsewhere (see photos). As a patient, I felt disrespected and disregarded. As a medical professional myself, I was aware of several key mistakes by all three doctors (Dr. Zoila Flashner, Dr. Aza Lefkowitz, and Dr. Jing Bai Qin) who treated me at ADPC, which I believe contributed to the terrible scar and immense personal stress I've been through. Unfortunately, I CANNOT give zero stars, if I could I would. My wife and I arrived 20 minutes early to our appointment and waited for nearly an hour. We were finally done 2 hours and 20 minutes after. Absolutely horrendous and UNACCEPTABLE. Listen, sh!t happens, businesses get backed up, however, from what I see on the other reviews it seems that their horrific wait times are commonplace and standard practice. Dr Tricolli is great. 10/31/22 Office staff is a different story at the Albertson location. Not sure why you have a sign in sheet, when you don't follow it and then ask me if I signed in, then tell me the mistake was definitely not on their end. (I signed in at 11:50am for a 12:15 appointment. Was waiting for 2 hours. Perhaps the staff should FOCUS on customer service rather than ordering your 2 pizza pies. Horrible establishment. Stay away. No respect for your time or money. Each of my last ten visits ended up with waiting for 90 minutes, or more. This establishment is Exhibit A for failed health care system. To this add extreme greed and you get Advanced Dermatology of Roslyn Heights This what is horrible with this place: 1) Enormously long waits every time. They text you 10 times before the appointment to come 20 minutes before the appointment time. You expect them to respect your time. But, no they have no respect your time. Your co-payment is collected at the time of checking in. This is their devious plan to make you think that you will lose your money if you walked away from the appointment. Why else will they charge before you get service? 2) This is their immoral practice: Often they book two patients at exactly the same time with the same doctor. When asked why they do that, a front office person replied nonchalantly that some patients don't show up. May be I am unlucky but I am booked at the same time with one other patient nearly every time, it appears. The wanton disregard for your time is clearly immoral. I am checking with medical licensing boards if it is unethical too. The physician's assistant got in the act too,. She also books two patients at the same time. I thought I am clever and can beat their nonsense by getting the first appointment for the day at 8:30AM. From what the staff told me, physician's assistant (PA) is late to work and did not show up until 8:50AM. I wait a little longer until after 9:00 AM. No sign of the PA. I ask the front desk where she is. The only good lady at the front desk at time went back in and tells me that she is in her room. Pick an answer: She is not coming out to see me because she is with another patient, doesn't care about my time, or both? 3) Advanced dermatology is replacing physicians with PAs. My doctor is in only half a day in a week. The rest of the time it is the PA that is treating you. I cannot tell if the PA can provide competent care. What if it is Touro College material that is treating you? Here is another question: Do you think you are charged any less because you are treated by a physician's assistant, but not a doctor? 4) They send five or more phone calls or text messages asking you to be in their office 20 minutes before the appointment time. It will only be mildly annoying if they showed up on time. It is a cruel humor to waste more of your time. 5) The front office staff answer your questions with a put down. During my recent visits the front office staff has gotten better. Due to high turnover, there is no guarantee you will meet a pleasant staff person. You have much better alternatives for your money and time than Advanced Dermatology of Roslyn Heights. read more

I've been bringing my father here for years. The last couple times I said never again. Terribly long wait in the waiting room then another long wait in the exam room. Doctor doesn't seem to know what he's doing. Assistant has to prompt him. Terrible follow up especially, since my dad has experienced many kinds of skin cancer. Now this year I'm trying to have records transfer to a new dermatologist practice. I have made at least four attempts to contact an office manager, or somebody else as well as the new dermatologist and no one can seem to get any records transferred or get back to me stay away.!! read more

I was interested in having Dr. Fox perform laser hair removal on my legs, so I spoke with the office manager named Dorothy about the treatment. She said that I would need 4 treatments, and that it would be $1100. Dorothy never provided me with a contract, nor any documents pertaining to the laser hair removal treatment. I had my first laser hair removal treatment done, but it wasn't performed by Dr. Fox as I had requested, it was performed by a medical assistant. I went in for a second treatment, and as I was leaving the receptionist asked me to pay another $1100. I told her that I bought a package of 4 treatments for $1100 from Dorothy, but the receptionist said that I had only paid $1100 for one laser hair removal session, not for a package. I never received any bill, and I was subsequently put in collections for $1100 the second treatment. I contacted Dorothy who said that I misunderstood her, and that I had to pay another $1100. Dorothy never explained that laser hair removal doesn't work on gray hair, which I have, and she was rude,and unprofessional throughout the conversation. I requested to speak with her boss, and I eventually spoke with Richard Zinnecker, who is the CEO of Advanced Dermatology. Richard apologized and said that he would resolve this issue, although after an email or two, I never heard from him again. DO NOT COME. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A DOCTORS OFFICE I HAVE EVER HAD. RUN DONT EVEN CONSIDER COMING HERE. My practitioner left and it's been a shit show to say the least. I was coming for a medical condition that I needed to be seen every 4-6 weeks. I'm a teacher so I made my appointments well in advanced since I knew what worked for my schedule. Once my practitioner left they were throwing me around. I saw one doctor who was horrible and then found one I was okay with. I made an appointment with her for Monday September 25th and they canceled the Friday before. I then schedule an appointment for October 2nd. I was seen that day and had bloodwork done. Took them three weeks to get back to me about my results and they still haven't send it over to this day meanwhile I have called them countless times. I had an appointment on the 30th and I show up to the office and they said it was canceled and that they had called. No voicemail from them, just a text confirming my appointment LOL I rescheduled for November LOL guess what it was canceled again. read more

I went in for a consult for my skin, not to be pushed gastric bypass surgery by the doctor and then to be told that he has a great treatment to get rid of stretch marks, not the reason at all why I was there. I am a longtime patient of Advanced Dermatology, P.C. who was satisfied with the services which I had received in the past.  However, recently I was scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. appointment at the West 72nd Street location with Dr. Troccoli for Vbeam laser treatment.  Once my face was anesthetized, I waited for an hour in a treatment room only to be told that the Vbeam machine was not working.  This was so despite assurances by office personnel during this time that they would somehow get the machine to work. I was then told by both Dr. Troccoli and office personnel that "these things happen," and that I could travel to an office in Albertson, Long Island if I wanted further Vbeam laser treatment.  Such a response was inadequate as I live in Manhattan, and do not own a car.  It was then suggested to me that I make an appointment int the Queens location.  But that suggestion was also inadequate given that the Queens location is apparently beyond the reach of public transport. I attempted to complain about the aforementioned to the office manager at your West 72nd Street location (name unknown) who was rude, unprofessional, inappropriate and more interested in my wearing a mask than listening to my complaint.  This woman is a disgrace, and should not be employed by anyone, anytime, anywhere. I was assured by office personnel that they would attempt to have the Vbeam machine fixed before close of business so that I could come back to the office to be treated.  I informed them that they were to contact me whether or not the Vbeam machine was fixed, and they assured me that they would do so and confirmed my cell phone number before I left.  Unfortunately, no one ever bothered to get back to me. The above constitutes rude, unprofessional and inappropriate conduct on the part of your employees which is completely unacceptable to me, and which should be completely unacceptable to you.  I can assure you that I used to enjoy going to my dermatology appointments.  Now, I will never set for in any of your offices again. If you are considering going here then I suggest that you RUN, don't walk, in the opposite direction. read more

The wait is ALWAYS about 2 hours. Be warned if you have any type of medicare/caid-- they will triplebook your appointment. They reserve short waits for their cosmetic surgery patients, who pay out of pocket. When they finally call your name, expect ANOTHER 30 minutes waiting in the exam room. EVERY. TIME. (The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5) Please clean your toys and the room you hold them in! Today my daughter wanted to play with them, however, everything was so dirty and my husband and I spotted a few bugs in the room. We had to take her out because we weren't comfortable with her playing in there. I never leave reviews but ...Hands down the worst doctor I have ever been to. I only went here ONCE, and the first time meeting Dr.Applebaum he was in the room with me for a total of 2 minutes and kept his hand on the doorknob the entire time. He didn't even touch my skin or get close to see what I was actually there for. Instead he insisted on prescribing me a medication that he knew my insurance wouldn't cover only for me to have to call and for his RUDE office staff to convince me to buy their products when I specifically said I wanted to go through my insurance. Additionally, all of the office staff was dressed in basically pajamas and stained clothes which grossed me out. Dr. Applebaum was rude, condescending and had HORRIBLE bedside manner. He had zero regard for me and made it very obvious. I wish I could give this establishment zero stars. As both a physician and a human being I expected to be treated better. I called the office everyday for 20 days to have them try to approve my medication with my insurance (which they didn't even try to) before giving up and taking the issue up with my insurance. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Awful. Just Awful. I went to check out two moles. Dr. Fox came in (two hour wait on average), made his corny stupid jokes, didn't answer any questions, removed one mole, was in a rush to move on and referred me to another office to remove the second mole. I go to second office two weeks later, doctor looked at it and said "Why didn't Dr. Fox remove this? Guess his wife needed a new fur coat!" Of course, they got me for two co-pays when it could have been easily done in one visit if this place wasn't a factory and rushed patients along. Now I have a huge ass scar from a person who was supposed to specialize in deeper mole removals. Never will I visit this place again. I should have known better, years ago they lost my biopsy results and I get a call six weeks later, saying "oops, we found something, you need to come back". They also called on a Friday before a holiday weekend when I couldn't reach them for another three days. Happy weekend! This place should be shut down. To top it off, I get a collection notice 8 months later for $500.00 when I never even received a bill from this shady place. read more

I have been going to Dr K Papantoniou (Commack) for years and she always thoroughly checks my body during skin checks. She is patient and talks to me. I have also seen Dr S Au at the Roslyn Heights location. Dr Au is wonderful - she, too, explains every little thing, every step of the way, doesn't rush, and makes you feel comfortable. I do wish the wait times were shorter - these two doctors really take their time with their patients, so maybe the front desk should allow for this when booking. Very satisfied. read more

In July I visited this office with a skin rash that appeared in red circles all over my legs. The doctor (female, pregnant lady, with a Greek last name) did a biopsy on my leg but never was I aware or told that this will be a pretty deep cut in my leg and that it will potentially leave a scar. I think it's important to make the patient aware of consequences and communicate that. 3 months later I still have pretty noticeable scar and feel uncomfortable to wear shorts. She also prescribed a cream that I applied topically for 2 weeks and my rash only worsened. It wasn't until I saw a regular MD who had me on cortisone and solved the problem. read more

I had a very bad 2nd degree burn in my right hand. It was awful I was told to look for a plastic surgeon I called Advanced Dermatologist and the receptionist was very nice and told me I should really see a Dermatologist. I was lucky that she gave me a appointment with Dr Troccoli. He was very caring and most important he really knew what I needed to treat my skin . After almost 9 months my skin is almost like new only a little red which Dr Troccoli is treating. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Troccoli he really is a very good doctor and if it wasn't for him I don't think my hand would have turned out so well. My friends are amazed I don't have any scar. I highly recommend him for any kind of skin problem he is great and he takes his time to listen and really see which is the best course of treatment. read more

Had a great experience with Dr. Fox. I had a spot on my face that another doctor could not do anything about despite months of treatment. After my first visit with Dr. Fox, he gave me a cream that lightened the spot and then a month later he did a chemical peel. My face has never looked better and the spot is gone. We were in the waiting room for 20 minutes and then put into the room for almost 30 without anyone coming in. Either they are understaffed or overbook patients.
