She actually LISTENED to our horror stories from previous offices we have been to and reassured us that she wouldn't treat us the way other offices did. Looking forward to our next appointment. CustomEyes Pearland was highly rated so I decided to give them a try. Scheduling was pretty easy. I went online and requested an appointment and was called back in a fair amount of time to finish. Their office is located right off 288 and Broadway, easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I arrived early as requested and there was still a bit of a wait even after my appointment. We started off with all the usual tests prior to seeing the doctor. Times have changed when it comes to yearly exams. There is alot of new tests they recommend which also comes with more out of pocket expenses. I found the front desk and others to be straight business without the service with a smile. It's not a must, but it does make you feel a little more welcome. I saw Dr. May on my visit and she was a pleasure to see. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. She ordered a few trials for my contacts and sent my on my way. After that is where I felt service went downhill. I have high astigmatism and I knew there would be a wait, but it was almost 3 weeks without a call from the office. I called once and they said they would get back to me and they didn't. The next time I called about a week later, they said one of the two trials were there and waiting to be picked up. How was I supposed to know that without a call. The same thing happened with my second trial. I just found it odd that I had to reach out every time. Needless to say, though I liked the doctor I saw, the overall customer service left alot to be desired. I didn't even end up using my yearly benefits here. I'm glad many people have liked the service here, but I will keep searching.

However, I went back a few days ago since my vision did not seem quite right with my new progressive glasses, my very first pair of glasses ever. After explaining several times that something wasn't right, I kept getting push back and was told that I simply need to get used to wearing my glasses. Finally, they told me I could take new measurements, after going back and forth. We took the new measurements and it turns out, adjustments to the measurements and the prescription needed to be made. I should not have had to press the staff like that to make sure my measurements and prescriptions were correct.

Although that was different from my other medical apppointment experiences, it made sense since the only thing my Mom had to confirm was her personal and insurance information when she checked in. Dr. Thomas went over my Mom's specific health conditions and medication when she examined her. If you think about it, many of us submit our medical information and it goes in a file but is it brought up my physician unless the patient mentions it? Or better yet, I've had information I've done online and had to redo the same information because the system didn't save it (True story and that happenned several times at a local vision center that I will not mention here). Therefore this was refreshing to only complete or share once. Staff is so friendly and Dr. Thomas is a gem. This was my Mom's first appointment and Dr. Thomas took her time getting to know her and vice versa. What really stunned me was that this lady admitted she wasn't feeling her best but still uplheld her appointments with patients. That's devotion- and it was much appreciated for sure even though we would have understood the reshedule. It took me YEARS for my Mom to change her care to Houston area doctors. Dr. Thomas and EOP keep proving that Mom took the right advice and is getting the best care to keep her quality of life pristine.
