I'm also traveling from out of state & both of these gentlemen were knowledgeable and upfront with the costs. Having waited for the repair work to be done I heard the manager tell a customer that they didn't need a replacement because the items had plenty of life on them. He didnt upsell the customer and IMO took care of that customer by being honest. The cost for the work was fair and if I have another issue (hopefully not) I will use them again.

I called Sean on Monday and he was at my door, as promised, promptly at 10:AM on Tuesday (no 4 hour window nonsense like I get from the cable guy and the plumber etc.) I was in a panic after discovering a "water bug" (aka cockroach) in the bathroom. Sean was very calming and explained that the heavy rains were causing some issues, clearly recognizing my horror at finding such a bug in the house. He treated the house inside and out, and also answered my questions about house centipedes, and explained that the treatment applied would handle those too. He's very personable and professional, and the price was reasonable (no mandatory contracts). We will continue to work with APT for all our pest control concerns. read more

After many at home attempts to keep the mosquitos away and them failing, it was time for a professional. He got me in next day and said I could enjoy my backyard that night. Unfortunately, I didn't get to test that because I had to work....this morning, though, I enjoyed a glorious cup of coffee on my porch, then filled my bird feeders...not a single bite!! If I would have done that yesterday morning, I'd be running inside grabbing the Benadryl spray. Today...today I'll be outside enjoying the weather, cleaning my yard in peace knowing those blood suckers aren't hovering around me. I also won't be covered in oily sticky bug spray. Wish that all contractors/pro-to-hire would be as professional, courteous, and considerate as APT&L (Sean, the owner usually comes out for first-time customers). The dedication and commitment to providing an honest and professional service is demonstrated by showing up when he says he will (a rarity these days!), taking the time to explain what is/is not needed, advice on other recommendations noted during inspection/service, etc. Absolutely highly recommend for others and Sean will be at the top of my list for any pest/lawncare issues in the future. Sean has done pest control at my house for around a year now and has been incredible. He is always punctual, professional, and honest. In addition to regular treatments, I had to bring him out to treat a crane fly infestation. Despite the infestation being substantially worse than he thought when we talked over the phone, and despite having to heavily spray the entire yard twice, he honored the very cheap quote he gave me over the phone and even declined my offer to pay more. I have been a customer of Mares / Reliance for a long time. About a year and a half ago they put…read morerat traps upstairs in my attic. The rats ate through the wire to my HVAC and I just had to replace that. The technician from the HVAC co said there was a rat in the trap upstairs. Let me say Mares has not been up in the attic to check the traps since they put them up there. I called Mares spoke to Bud he said he wanted to come out and get the problem under control. He also mentioned that they could credit my next view visits to compensate for the rat issue. Long story short Bud and his associate came out this morning and the first question where is your attic I said through that hole in the ceiling. Oh do you have a ladder? No I don't. What company comes to your home unprepared like this? Wouldn't you think they would ask those questions with the tech who has been servicing my account? Anyway they said we cannot access your attic because we don't have a ladder. Ready for the bombshell? They tell us the company was bought out and they are no longer permitted to access the attics due to insurance purposes. So let me get this straight you go up in my attic place rat traps and now you cannot go retrieve them because the new company does not allow it? WHAT????? I also have a rat in the trap in the attic right now. I do not recommend this company at all. I can understand the company being bought out, but if you are that great why wouldn't you let your customers know the company has been bought out and le the customers know the new policies so they could make a decision to stay with them or look around for options. Well I looked around for options researched a company with high rated review and compatible in price. I found one and I am kicking Mares to the curb today. I highly suggest current customers call Mares to see what their new policies are and if they can do the job you need them to do. This is my honest review and I am sad to leave them, but I think their customer service dealing with my current issue sucks! My final though? Consumer beware Mares might be covering up more then bugs and pests. Do your diligence and do your homoework!! Ask questions and get the right answers you deserve!
