Working with these folks was a great experience! They went above and beyond to work with my partial renovation due to water damage, which was tricky in my financial parameters. From the owner to the project support to admin and all the on-site workers I've interacted with have been kind, wonderfully helpful and experts at their jobs. The value of the work performed was excellent and I'm thankful for their responsiveness. The project did drag out longer than we first anticipated but in the end, it all worked out great and I'd rather have the good quality work than have it be done fast and haphazardly. ARS has bailed me out of 2 water related emergencies, and my parents out of another. I am glad to give them my highest possible recommendation. The first was at my own home in South Arlington in Dec 2022. They were very responsive in the evening, worked with me to figure out exactly what I needed from them, had someone come out that night, and gave me a referral to someone else for the piece of the puzzle that wasn't theirs to solve. In providing the referral they were not pushy about who I used, but instead served as an adviser for how to get someone to solve that piece of the problem regardless of whether it was someone they referred. I ended up using their referral and that individual did a great job for their piece of the solution. On July 4, 2023 (yes the holiday) my parents in Fairfax had their own water emergency. I contacted ARS and they promptly sent a team that solved the issue on the actual holiday. Lastly, today (Wed Nov 22 2023, the night before Thanksgiving 2023) I had another emergency in South Arlington. I discovered the issue in the evening and they had a team out within an hour. The team did what I had asked (fixed the emergency) and ALSO went above and beyond by diagnosing the root cause and putting a temporary fix in place that will work. I absolutely recommend working with Advanced Restoration Solutions and they will be the first person I call for water related emergencies! read more

I didn't think it could get any worse with this company, but surprise! It did. Only after I wrote this review could I get someone at this company to return my phone call and issue me a bill for the work performed. It literally took weeks, if not months of repeated contact, to no avail. The owner also offered me money to remove this (completely accurate, if not overly mild) review! Nothing shady about that at all Even after all that, after having some trouble finding a contractor who had time to do this work and also showed up, I considered circling back with the owner against my better judgement. Prior to doing that, I reached out on my neighborhood Facebook page to see if anyone had suggestions I hadn't tried. Although I mentioned nothing specifically about his company, nor mentioned them by name, Ran, the owner of Advanced Restoration, chose to take that opportunity to attack me on my own post, calling me a liar and denying the complete trainwreck that I experienced with his company. During some heavy rain this August, we had water seeping into the basement. Needing to act quickly to mitigate damage, we reached out to several companies and ARS made time for us within a day or two. They removed about 24" of drywall and the carpet/pad, tested for mold and asbestos and all was well. Thanks to their quick action, we minimized damage/cost and could save the carpet. Finally getting the exterior project completed in December (different contractor/project, not ARS's delay), I reached back to refinish the drywall and repair the carpet/pad. Again, they acted within a couple days and flexed as needed with me. Great responsiveness, punctual and professional team on site, and overall a pleasant experience through an unpleasant series of events. Highly recommend! read more

Justin came out to do an initial inspection, which was a second opinion for us. We'd been quoted a $5K+ project price from another company, and even though that seemed fairly reasonable, we wanted to know if this was something we needed to worry about right away, or if it was something we could wait and plan for. Justin gave us very helpful thoughts, including encouraging us to think about doing the work ourselves. He didn't dramatize our issue and told us it would be fine to wait. We also appreciated his advice as he looked at the foundation of our house - again, about work that would be easy to do ourselves. Well worth the $95 inspection fee! Now we feel fine waiting and have the confidence to think about doing the work on our own. Should we have a bigger project down the road, we'll contact these guys. read more

Ron was one of the few remediation companies to answer his phone after a 100 year storm that resulted in a flooded basement. He was cool, calm, and collected during what was probably a very chaotic time for his business and I appreciated that. While he was unable to get out to our house the same day due to the high volume of flooding in the area, he did come out the next day and had his crew there to get the remediation done within 24 hours. He was really easy to work with and coordinate details with--especially given the house he was providing services for was occupied by a tenant and it added an extra layer of complication and coordination. He photographed everything for us and showed me all the moisture on his moisture reader so I would t feel swindled. It was clear his crew was stretched thin though because the guy that did most of the work was pretty sloppy. I'm sure he was exhausted from working job after job in such a short time span. Ron was willing to work with us to make it right and then helped coordinate the repairs and new carpet for the whole basement when he didn't have to. He then worked with my tenant to get his stuff repaired. That meant a lot to me and said a lot about his work ethic and customer service skills. He owned the mistake and made it right. I would highly recommend this company for remediation. Prices were comparable to all others, but Ron's customer service is what separates him from others. He also has all the correct certifications and even showed me them so I could verify. Don't hesitate to ask for that. read more

After reaching out to a supervisor, NO resolution was given. Oddly enough the contractor remembers and stated he received additional funds ($1000) from me to complete the job. Again... Be very weary of having work done with this company. It's a very expensive learning lesson. Keep track of receipts and ensure ALL work is included in your paperwork. Requested a quote for some water damage after reading so many 5 star reviews. I was impressed with the knowledge of the consultant that came out to my house and felt confident that he knew what he was doing. They had the moisture meters, heat detection and necessary tools to assess the situation. I will say that this company will push to maximize repairs and replacement of original materials to the extent possible, which can be advantageous if you have the appetite for it. We didn't. In the end, I decided not to go with this company purely because of the extensive contract they wanted me to sign before proceeding. I'm truly surprised that so many people are quick to trust a company enough to sign such a lengthy agreement that places all the risk on the homeowner and none on the business. As an example, if something in your house mysteriously disappears, the company is not responsible but if one of their fans or dehumidifiers stops functioning while in your house, you are responsible. Also, there is minimal upfront discussion of cost but you have to agree to be responsible for whatever your insurance doesn't cover, which made me uneasy when I didn't know what qualified to be replaced by the insurance company. Anyone dealing with the aftermath of water damage is not in a proper state of mind to assume more risk, especially when insurance companies will try to find the cheapest route and remediation companies will try to maximize their gains. That leaves the homeowner in the middle on an island trying to figure out who to trust and to what extent. Ultimately, I opted to just pay for a detailed estimate and took my business elsewhere. In retrospect, that was not necessary and I could've saved $150. The company I finally decided on had just as many good reviews but didn't even ask me for a signature until they had helped me remediate and I was in a better headspace. Even then, it was only so that they could speak to my insurance, meaning I assumed minimal risk in the process. read more

Edit: After my initial review both the owner of ARS and a customer service manager reached out to me about the issues I had with the company. I unfortunately missed the owner but the manager I spoke with couldn't have been more courteous. She listened to my complaint and informed me that the individual who had told me that correcting a billing issue is a courtesy no longer worked at the company. While I still have some reservations about working with ARS again if the need arose, based on the conversation I had with the manager, I am willing to give it another shot. Very rarely have I seen a company do what they do, i.e. own up to a mistake. Making that right is a big feather in their cap. I called Advanced Restorations after a storm brought in water into the basement for the first time. Despite the reviews I've seen, I could not have been more disappointed in the service. The affected area was very small however we initially received a bill for well over $3000. The company had charged us for things not even done. I will give Advanced Restorations credit, they reviewed the scope of the work and reduced it, but we still were billed for cleaning fees and content moving despite the fact that their crew did not do any of those. Also, we were billed for travel time. This is something that should have been priced into their budget or specifically stated that we would be billed for. I spent several days going back and forth with the office staff before they reduced the bill to a price that was fair. When I addressed the issues in the second bill I received, I was told the initial bill was changed "as a courtesy", not because they had billed me for services that were never part of the project. A major part of why I am giving them only 1 star is the fact that they did not tell me what their prices were, so I am providing them here so future customers do not get surprised like I did. Advanced Restoration was phenomenal to work with, I can't recommend them enough. They acted quickly on two separate flooding incidents I had in my basement. They came out right away to remove the water, base boards, and dry wall, and then coordinated with my insurance for the full build back. If I could rate zero stars I would. I had water damage and was going through my insurance for it's repair. A technician came out for the evaluation and estimate and was very nice and seemed very thorough. He completed the estimate and the company reached out to see if I wanted to schedule anything. I explained I had to finish confirmation with my insurance and then definitely yes I was ready to have it fixed. They told me no problem they'd schedule as soon as the insurance came through. My insurance sent me the full value of the estimate $6700, which I was asked to pay half of up front to start work which I did without issue after signing their contract stating, "Authorization: I the Client for the job site listed, authorize Advanced Restoration Solutions, LLC (ARS) to enter my property, furnish materials, supply all equipment and perform all labor necessary to preserve and protect my property from further damage, and to perform all restoration procedures necessary to repair and restore the carpet, furniture, structure and other furnishings." They came in and moved around everything in both of my bedrooms (65% of my living space), covered it all in heavy plastic, and had industrial dehumidifiers running for 2 days. On the second day they cut giant holes through the dry wall in between rooms and then left the dehumidifiers running. They did not come the 3rd day. On the fourth day they came and packed up their dehumidifiers saying they would schedule with the dry wall crew and left the place a complete mess, dry wall dust everywhere, everything still displaced and covered in plastic. That evening I received an invoice requesting the second half of my estimate for $3400. I didn't respond as my home was still in shambles. The next day I received another invoice and a text message urging me to pay my invoice. I replied to the text saying that I didn't feel comfortable paying with so much work left, but that I would be happy to pay when it was completed. No text response. The next day I receive an email from the manager saying that, "Actually we didn't do a lot of what was on the estimate so your initial deposit will cover the cost of what we did, also the estimate didn't cover repairing your home. We're happy to get you an estimate for that and schedule that for you." So in short they destroyed my home, did NOT do anything to the vast majority of the damaged area (i.e. floors), took $3400 and tried to quickly pressure me into paying an additional $3400 only to quickly back pedal and say never mind, but we aren't going to fix your condo. And now I have giant holes in my walls, I'm out $3400, plastic everywhere, drywall dust everywhere, and, despite being told by technicians they would replace all my items to where they previously were and that a dry wall team would be scheduled, I have no scheduled follow up from this company. Stay away from this company, they are intentionally misleading, and will quickly pressure you into paying more than they have done work for, and despite promises of RESTORATION, REPAIR, and REMEDIATION they will leave your home worse than when they started. read more

This company and these men were amazing. Jose and his team arrived within an hour of my call to begin removing water and sewage from my basement. Diana was in the area, came over immediately to start the paperwork, and the men immediately got started cleaning up a horrible mess. I called my builder who also came over, this guy is a perfectionist and is rarely satisfied with the work of others. He complemented the team on the professional and impeccable job they were doing. Ugh, this company leaves something to be desired. They can't seem to organize a schedule and are allergic to calling clients to let them know when a rebuild technician will arrive, how long the job will take, and what the job entails. I had to follow up several times just to know what week I was scheduled. Someone finally called me after being 4 hours late the first day and then a no show the 3rd day, to let me know that she was "sending a really good team" to my house tomorrow. Soooo, the team who did the first part of the work was bad? The point of hiring a service provider is to pay money in exchange for a good team to do the work, and I'm paying out of pocket, not going through insurance. Also, she said that the office closes at 4pm and implied that she was doing me a favor by staying late. Well, normally, that's what you have to do when you screw up something that a customer has already paid for in full! Every time I contacted the assistant, she was either "not in the office", "at lunch", or had no way of finding out where the heck the technicians were! I had to arrange all my meetings around this work, and it has been so stressful to also have to track down the technicians, etc. I would avoid. The team that did my water remediation from this company was great, but they were also 4 hours late to the job because they were "sent somewhere else" by the home office. Ran took my call at 8:31pm on a Monday evening, when they say they are open 24 hours.. (during a pandemic) they mean it. The service was superior, and the follow up was immediate. The details of our situation are below. We will definitely be recommending this company our friends and family. We had a black stain on our concrete floor that our tenants were concerned about. He immediately gave a phone number I could text pictures to so he could do a preliminary assessment. After checking the pictures he offered an appointment first thing the next morning. He called and texted when they would arrive. Within 30 minutes they were at our doorstep. The technician came in, swabbed the area, took detailed pictures and let us know that the results from the swab would be back in 48 hours. The Advanced Restoration team is friendly, knowledgeable, and talented. My dishwasher recently leaked into the lower floor, which required antifungal treatments, removal of the damp material, and a complete rebuild. Everything was restored back as if nothing had happened. There are few restoration companies that can handle both the mitigation and rebuild, but Advanced Restoration can complete the entire process from start to finish. We were away when our town was hit with a very heavy rainstorm. My neighbor went to my home and took photos of our basement - the sump pump could not pump water out fast enough and we had almost 3 feet of water. We called Advanced Restoration Solutions when we were 10 minutes from home and were told that Mike would be there in about 20 minutes. We were a little skeptical as the roads were supposed to be blocked. But Mike got to our home before we did and waited for us. The water had drained quite a bit, but we had a substantial amount of water damage. Mike was on the job right away and helped us file a claim with our insurance. He then got somebody to demo our basement and get the water out. Mike checked in every day and gave us updates on how everything was going. The work was seamless - from the people who hauled our wet items out of our basement, to the person working til 3 am to get out our soggy wet carpet, they were a huge help. We had a very positive experience with Dave and Advanced Restoration Solutions. Great customer service and they took care of our water damage to our satisfaction. When we called, he even came out that night to assess the damage prior to their appointment with us the next day so they were prepared with the equipment they needed. He was very professional, very responsive via text even outside of normal business hours whenever we had a question, and very knowledgeable. He came back after a few days to check on the progress and and showed us how they measure moisture levels in the floors and walls to determine how they need to move fans around and how they know when restoration is complete. I contacted Advanced Restoration Services directly through Yelp when I searched for Basement Waterproofing and mold remediation and they responded promptly. I needed to get someone out to give me an estimate before I left town in only a couple of days to be away for several weeks. While the work could be done while I was away, I was the only one who could make the decision, so time was critical. The woman who initially contacted me said she would try to get someone to come out very soon. I was contacted again within a few hours to see if I was Ok if they came out to my home that evening. I said absolutely! I couldn't believe their dedication to customer service! Their technician, Josh, contacted me to let me know that he would be coming out and the time-frame. Later, still within the timeframe, Josh called again to let me know he was running about 20 minutes later than he'd estimated. I said that was fine and was grateful for the call. When he arrived, he was very courteous, professional and seemingly quite knowledgeable about mold remediation. Unfortunately, they don't do waterproofing also. This seems to be a glitch with Yelp that matched me to companies that do either waterproofing OR mold remediation, but not necessarily both. I told him I'd love to still get an estimate for mold remediation, but would have to wait until the water-proofing was completed first (so I don't have a repeated problem.) He patiently and courteously measured my basement and composed an estimate the same evening. You can't beat that! If they are this conscientious in the estimate process, I can't wait to work with them when they actually do the work! read more

Ran Shapiro is an exemplary professional. We hired him during a time of duress involving a landlord tenant dispute over proper handling of a leaky roof with resultant mold and water damage. Our son and his roommates were getting sick and the landlord was not responsive to fixing issues and would not share the mold inspection report with us. So we decided to obtain our own. Ran answered the phone immediately, spent a lot of time explaining the process to me, and was very knowledgeable. He was available day and night for my questions, phone call returns are prompt and my son (Who was the tenant) felt comforted that he was in good hands upon meeting him. He got us the answers we were looking for and guided us as to our proper steps to fix the problem. It was he who made the suggestion for air quality lab tests which were invaluable at identifying the source of my son and his roommates' health symptoms.
