Date of water incident: Tuesday, 11.9.2021 8:00pm Fans removed from home: Wednesday, 11.17.2021 Date of me starting this review: Tuesday, 11.23.2021 I want you to have those dates, as I give you the details of this incident and how Water Damage DMV handled it. My home became flooded with sewer water, we didn't realize it until our neighbor told my husband. Come to find out every connected townhome was affected. Our neighbor called Water Damage DMV and they came to his home. Out of the 5 neighbors who were affected, 4 of us used Water Damage DMV to remove the water and clean. How the process works: After you sign a form electronically with your CC on file, they begin the work. (They charge an extra 3% if you pay with CC). They move/toss your furniture, take pics of the damage, remove the water, then remove all affected flooring + drywall. In our case, all of our flooring had to be removed + 2 feet of drywall from the floor up. They then put fans and a dehumidifier in the area to dry out the moisture, this takes some time. They come back every few days to clean/disinfect to make sure there's no mold + check the moisture level. We didn't have a lot of visible water in our home, but it all still needed to be ripped up. Here's the problem for homeowners: Sewer water damage is an addition to your homeowner's policy, so make sure you add that. It was removed from all policies a few years ago. Here's the problem with the company: Lack of transparency, which made them look really sketchy. They never told us how much everything would cost until our insurance agent told my husband and I to get an estimate, which was about 4 days into the drying process. For us the estimate was $3500-$6000. The company also does complete restoration work and wouldn't give us an estimate of the costs in writing. One of the guys told my husband $14-$25K, but that was after my husband had to ask numerous times. It has now been 6 days since the fans were removed and the company still hasn't told us how much the water removal portion would cost. They continuously emphasized how they speak directly to insurance, but what if people aren't covered through their insurance. Since the county has been involved in this process, they also stated that it was sketchy that we haven't received a final bill for the water removal and they are likely writing up 2 different prices (1 for if we get them to do the renovation work and 1 for if we don't). The lack of transparency is disgusting considering people are already stressed because their home has been turned upside down. Payment: A few days after Thanksgiving Wali called me asking for payment to which I replied "I need a bill to make a payment". They were consistently telling us "this is an estimate, not a final bill" every time we wanted to know how much the service cost, then randomly called me at 3pm asking for payment. That same evening I heard and saw someone fiddling with items in the back of their pick-up truck around 7pm, come to find out it was Wali. I assume he just finished working on the neighbor's home. My husband comes home around 7:30pm and Wali asks my husband about payment AGAIN after I just told him he needed to send a final bill 4 hrs earlier. Wali had the audacity to follow my husband to the door and knock on the door requesting payment as if we had been avoiding them. I was pissed because it was night time and it was disrespectful. After you pay, make sure you request a receipt to show that you paid in full because they don't give it to you automatically. read more

After a fire plus the water from extinguishing, I looked for a company that could come in and immediately address remediation and cover broken windows. When I saw the previous reviews, I felt comfortable calling WDDMV to discuss them potentially handling the initial work. I had a great and informative initial conversation with Ari--he is very knowledgeable and really took the time to explain their process. Once I confirmed that I wanted them to do the initial work, Carlos arrived on scene within a couple of hours to assess everything in person. The smoke and soot damage were worse than the fire, and Carlos was absolutely right with his initial assessment that my insurance company would determine that all of the drywall and flooring would need to be replaced. Once additional staff arrived, they immediately got to work boarding up windows to protect from further damage and intrusion. This was a terrible situation, but Carlos and Ari were extremely helpful at every turn. They are very professional and communicated what would happen every step of the way. I hired this company to clean the ducts in my condo in Washington DC. I agreed on their pricing and all was scheduled according to plan. However, when the technician arrived he pressured my tenant for additional services and made false claims about the needed services that resulted in my tenant paying for unnecessary services. High pressure and dishonest is the best way to categorize this service. Also, not accepting credit card payments and requesting cash was a little suspicious. Caveat Emptor.... read more

A leak from the water heater got underneath our vinyl plank flooring in the basement. I first spoke with Ari, who was helpful in providing information and getting the ball rolling right away to get things drying out. From there, I dealt mainly with Carlos on the water mitigation end of things. Carlos was great; extremely responsive to all communication and willing to show up to address any concerns. Also a genuinely nice guy who was a pleasure to deal with on all fronts. These guys are awesome - special shout out to Carlos, he was an absolute lifesaver. We had an entire basement flood of 1-4 inches of water after our sum pump went out. Our basement was also FULL of stuff, most of it in cardboard boxes. We had used servpro in the past but weren't happy so we decided to go with these guys. The teams that the company sent varied day by day but Carlos would come most times and spent a ton of time talking to us and going through what we could do to save us money here and there. Amir came out when our insurance agent came too and spent a bunch of time talking with him on damage and cost. But back to Carlos - seriously, this guy was the best. We were totally overwhelmed with moving the stuff out of the basement that was destroyed. I don't think its in his job description and maybe he just took pity on us but he went through and took everything we had marked, and even hauled it from the property. I'm talking boxes of old books, clothes, furniture etc. Everything that wasn't marked he and the team moved around to dry or air out in case we could save it. This was a HUGE job! While they were running the fans for a couple days our very old breaker also flipped and shut off our heat - after unsuccessfully trying to reset it we thought we would just have to have an electrician out. When Carlos came he actually helped me figure out what was going on with the breaker and then made sure to distribute the fans differently so it didn't overload our crappy electrical. Eventually, we had to have some of the drywall cut out to prevent mold. He and the team sprayed everything down, saved as much of our house as they could, were totally diligent with the clean up process, and saved our sanity(!!!). They went above and beyond - seriously. Worth every penny. All in all it took around 2-3 weeks for everything to completely dry out. They were fantastic. Also - for the women out there, it's worth noting that some repair guys can be creepy. This team was SUPER professional and never made us feel uncomfortable and they were in and out of the house a lot. read more

I had a busted pipe in my bathroom that leaked down into our kitchen and living room. I called these guys to clean up the water damage since they were the closest company to our house in Fairfax VA. They worked with our insurance company, but kept us in the look during the entire restoration process. Thank god they were able to make it out so fast, we didn't have to worry about any of the flooding causing mold growth. They extracted the water and set up fans. The fans were a bit a little larger than I had thought, but it was okay. I'm glad with the results and would work with them again (but I hope we never have another flood!) read more

These guys really saved our lives a few weeks ago. One of our sinks on the top floor had flooded (badly) causing the water to seep through every crack and crevice in our townhouse alll the way down to our basement. Being renters, we weren't entirely sure what the next steps were but thank god we found Water Damage DMV! They came out immediately to assess the damage and then again first thing next morning to start drying out the whole house. The holes they made to dehumidify the house were very small and the company was extremely quick to respond if we needed any assistance.
