Recently, we discovered that the drain from that original system had clogged and our sump pump had also stopped working. I reached out to Triad and was honestly impressed with how quickly they responded. Within about 12 hours I had heard back from them, and Justin was at our house the following day. He replaced the bad sump pump and made sure everything was working properly. He then returned on Monday to replace the clogged drain. Justin was fantastic. What really stood out was his attention to detail. He was extremely thorough, took pride in what he was doing, and cleaned everything up so well that the area was spotless when he left. But the biggest reason I'm writing this review is that Triad stood behind basement waterproofing work they had done more than a decade ago. Mike DeGirolamo - the owner - during his assessment provided step-by-step explanation of what needed to be done to address this issue. He was very thorough and clear in his explanations. He did not try to 'upsell' or include items that were not necessary. Prior to work starting a timeline was provided. Timeline detailed team arriving over the course of 3 days and what to expect during this time. The Triad team - Michael, Justin and Roberto - arrived as scheduled on their assigned days. Before starting work for that day they again went over every detail of what they would be doing. Master plumber Justin Dorrier was amazing in his handling of the plumbing side of this process. His attention to detail and explanations clearly showed his professionalism and knowledge as a master plumber. I did much research and obtained multiple estimates from about 5-6 different waterproofing companies before selecting Triad. Triad was by far the company I was most impressed with. I wish we had never heard of this company. The install of the french drains and sump pump went…read morehorribly. They promised they would not break through asbestos tiles, but instead carefully lift them. They blasted right through the asbestos tiles requiring us to talk to a remediation company and do a safety clean up (though they insisted that wasn't necessary when we complained and accused us of trying to bleed them for unnecessary expenses -- we had not even asked them for a dime, and they were the ones who broke an explicit promise to us). They left open gaps in the cement after covering the french drain that we had to have addressed after they left (after confirming with this company that they would not accuse us of voiding the warranty if we did) and totally destroyed the efficacy of our radon mitigation sytem, which they said nothing to us about when inspecting the site to provide their workplan and estimate before the install. They claimed not to see it, but the radon system has bright red labels all over it and was in plain sight for both the inspection and while the guys were doing the work. Ray Charles would have seen it. So, we've had to pay more to address that. Insult to injury, our security system picked up one of their guys looking through our stuff in the basement, and when we complained about that, the owner made implicit threats about how we would ruin a relationship in which we may need them to come make repairs to our system in the future if we told anyone about it. As others have mentioned, he also offered us $100 to not post bad reviews. We didn't take the money, but others might, so careful on relying on reviews for this company. Spare yourselves. Go with someone else.

Late in the summer of '24, we started to see a few cracks developing in our home. No big deal -…read moreit's 70+ years old, cracks happen. And then they kept happening, getting larger and spreading throughout the entirety of the house, and we could no longer open the doors in the basement and 1st floor on the south side of the house. Alarmed, I called a civil engineer and had an assessment done. They ascertained our house was sinking, particularly in one corner, and recommended ~30 push piers around the perimeter and up the centerline of the house... for over $100k. I literally laughed at him and asked him who he thought I was that he thought I could afford that. I called a few other places and got questionable assessments, and then I spoke with Yos from DMV. What a breath of fresh air. He was personable and honest. He recommended we get a 3rd party civil engineer to produce a report with drawings that I could use for any foundation company - even if I didn't go with DMV. We (finally, after a loooong delay on the civil engineer's part) got the report and drawings, and Yos and his team began work in early January to install ~10 helical piers on the sinking corner of the house. It was a pretty invasive project, but his team was fantastic. Fast forward 5 months and the cracks have stopped appearing, with a number of them even closing. We are very satisfied with the work DMV did for us, and are particularly pleased with their honesty. Where one company tried to sell us an overkill solution for six figures, Yos was upfront and told us what we really need - to address that affected area and revisit others if they end up being an issue - for roughly a quarter of the other company's price. That sort of honesty and pricing earns a permanent spot in my trusted contractor list.

The initial sales person was a classic over-seller and promised the world while simultaneously doing a very surface-level review of the situation, ultimately concluding that we were in need of an indoor water mitigation system and sump pump. The sales process was tortured, over-the-top, and ended with the classic "same-day-only discount" proposal (red flag number 1). The scheduling process and lead-up to the project was radio-silent with no preparation on what to do or what to expect from the project manager or the sales person until I reached out proactively. I had to call the morning the project was set to begin to even know if they were coming or not (red flag number 2). The project itself eventually began and within less than an hour it became obvious the source of the leak was in fact a burst pipe and not ground water coming in through the basement. I called the office and put a stop order on the work at which point they immediately became very cagey about what options were available to me and from this point on once again went radio silent (red flag number 3). Upon reaching out to the office multiple times (via both email and phone) to address the issue and seek at least a partial refund of our deposit for the issue, they took 3+ days to even respond, and when they did, claimed that despite obvious pictures pointing to the pipe being the issue, it could have been ground water at the same time and they were unable to provide any refund of any kind (red flag number 4). I get that I signed a contract. I get that they planned and scheduled the work. I also now have learned an expensive lesson about trusting my gut and being more proactive about my concerns. But they're supposed to be the experts! And the fact that they took absolutely no responsibility for having done a poor assessment of the situation up-front and then pretended like they were actually still right about it was disappointing and embarrassing.
