From there, Rapid Response took this nightmare off our hands and communicated clearly through the entire process. Right from the first moment on the phone I knew that Daryl and Rapid Restoration would be the company we would go with. He gave me a thorough education about the process and gave me helpful advice right from the first moment. His help over the phone was always clear and accurate. He set us on the right path immediately. Seth and his crew were in our house within 48 hours to do the mitigation and boy were they thorough. The floor was pulled up, the room was disinfected and dried. And all the while, Daryl and Seth made sure that we had the documentation and backup necessary to communicate with our homeowners insurance company. With the mitigation done, the crew came back a few weeks later to actually do the repairs and get our floors back to the condition they were in before. This was equally impressive. The workmanship was truly beautiful. Seth has a great eye for design and color. Everything matches and looks beautiful. I never had someone text me instructions about a potential home visit before but, as I'm desperate for repairs, I went with it despite my reluctance. I asked in the text to have the tech please share their license and credentials. I don't know these people. I just needed to know who I'm letting into my home. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are. Call it paranoia, call it weird as that person did, but they can take that attitude and go the other way. I'll find someone else.

They promised they would not break through asbestos tiles, but instead carefully lift them. They blasted right through the asbestos tiles requiring us to talk to a remediation company and do a safety clean up (though they insisted that wasn't necessary when we complained and accused us of trying to bleed them for unnecessary expenses -- we had not even asked them for a dime, and they were the ones who broke an explicit promise to us). They left open gaps in the cement after covering the french drain that we had to have addressed after they left (after confirming with this company that they would not accuse us of voiding the warranty if we did) and totally destroyed the efficacy of our radon mitigation sytem, which they said nothing to us about when inspecting the site to provide their workplan and estimate before the install. They claimed not to see it, but the radon system has bright red labels all over it and was in plain sight for both the inspection and while the guys were doing the work. Ray Charles would have seen it. So, we've had to pay more to address that. Insult to injury, our security system picked up one of their guys looking through our stuff in the basement, and when we complained about that, the owner made implicit threats about how we would ruin a relationship in which we may need them to come make repairs to our system in the future if we told anyone about it. As others have mentioned, he also offered us $100 to not post bad reviews. We didn't take the money, but others might, so careful on relying on reviews for this company. Spare yourselves. Go with someone else.
