Earliest she could do the simple procedure was April 27th. Got a call April 21st they were cancelling by appointment because Dr. Cho had to the evaluation . No explanation why she could not use Dr. Steelde's findings. First available appointment Aug 21st. then maybe 3 more months after that they could schedule the procedure. This is just NOT acceptable. My husband had the YAG procedure and it took maybe 5 minutes or less. Contacted Lake Eye and they can do it next week.

I would say that my experience with this doctor was positive, first I had to retake the usual vision tests, and after that was able to finally see the Doctor, and he was very informative and answered all of my questions, I also was remitted to a MRI, and after the MRI he called me back with the results, and answered all my questions. I was happy and comfortable with the whole process beginning to end, and I have to say that every person I interacted in the clinic was kind and helpful.

If you choose to proceed, map out your payment and schedule your procedure. The procedure, very mild discomfort for less then 5 mins. Whole procedure is done in like 15 mins... 15 mins to clear eyesight! When you leave you are given meds, vitamins, eye drops to aid your healing. After the procedure, go home, take a nap or lay down in a dark room (or wear shades) with music, audio book, or podcast for a few hours. Your eyes will burn and sting but it's tolerable. We were referred to this office by our pediatrician, and I'll admit I was a little nervous since I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't sure how they conducted eye exams on kids under two, and I wasn't sure how my son would react. All the staff members we encountered were kind and clearly communicated the process & next steps. My son has a minor astigmatism in both eyes, so they ended up needing to dilate them first. You can tell their team is well versed in working with children and they had a friendly, calming presence. My son actually did so well and was relaxed the entire time. Didn't even shed a tear. He received the eyedrops with ease and then we had to wait about 20 minutes for his eyes to dilate before seeing the doctor. The test consists of a series of lights and he was actually pretty mesmerized. Ultimately, we left with good news that he won't be needing glasses right away, and we'll come back again in 6 months to see if there's been any improvement. The cost (even with insurance) was the major bummer. They can't tell you how much it's going to be upfront because it depends on what tests they end up needing to do. So $300 later, this was an expensive preventative measure.

Everytime I went I would spend 5 to 6 hours sitting and waiting. The check in waiting room waiting room has at least 50 people waiting to check in.waited 45 mins to check in for my appointment ,,,then directed to the actual waiting room with even more people waiting. Most of the clients were very old and many had difficulty walking...there was no water or coffee..no food and we all sat and waited to be called. Once called we would see staff for 15 mins and doctor for about 5..as an example my final visit I had an 11:00 am appt and left at 3:30. This was typical of every one of my visits. The reason for long wait was management who hires and sets quota. The staff is great..but overworked...I had my surgery and follow-ups and each appt was like this. I am so happy to never return. But my concern is to have so many elderly and non English people waiting with no food or water Or any idea how long they will sit unt being seen. Guess money does rule all . My suggestion...hire more staff and schedule fewer people each day.

The next day I got a huge stye in my eye that still hasn't completely cleared two weeks later. But that's not the topping on the cake. My husband--who isn't very good about making appointments with Dr's until there is a need--got something in his eye that is causing him a lot of pain. He called and they turned him away, saying he hasn't been there in two years. I'm super tired about Dr's not caring about patients, but rather their own bottom line. So this office is another office that just plain doesn't care. Oh... but there is more. My mother had her cateracts done by Dr Aziz at least 10 years ago and still has trouble with her eyes, then my father's had his cateracts done by Dr Aziz and sees worse now than he did before the surgeries. When Dr. Straughn came in she was very thorough in explaining my options and even gave me some things to think about in the future for sunglasses. When I sat after my exam with Frank to pick out my glasses he was very helpful in helping me make a selection that was not only comfortable but also afforable and looked good on my face. Emily was also great! I booked my appointment completely online and the entire process from start to finish was positive and couldn't have been any easier. There was ample parking behind the building, and the waiting room is separate from the show room which made the process of selecting frames stress free.

Frame boutique: I actually chose this practice specifically because they sell Silhouette frames, but they are extremely expensive, and somehow even a worse deal if you just need replacement lenses? I was told "our coatings are SO much better than you can get elsewhere". Ok I said, but less than 2 years after my lenses were replaced in August 2024, all the anti reflective coating was wearing off all around the rims of both lenses?! There is a 2 year warranty, but from the original date of purchase (not date of replacement, apparently). I think I'll be buying my glasses from Costco from now on for 1/4 the cost. My coatings have never worn off from anything I bought there (or that I bought 10 years ago in Miami for that matter). I do not have faith in the the lab WPEA uses.
