We had to swap out a slider to a picture frame in our house. Alicia was super fast with her quotes, information, and had all the required specs for our window included in the first quote (we live in fire country so certain specs are mandatory for code). Other quotes came in far higher and without the required glazing treatments code requires. All communications were fast and swift. My day starts to the whirling sound of my Hurricane fans. They sit against my screen doors drawing in the cool night air. When the sun rises I put sunshields up in my doors and windows to keep the sun out. During this current heat wave I have been able to get the temperature down to around 70F and as the sun heats my place the temperature slowly rises to around 78F at 4pm. In the year 2000 I upgraded my windows to low-E dual pane windows from Milgard that had a solar heat gain coefficient of .36. That meant 74% percent of the heat of the sun was blocked and I was impressed. Now in 2023 Milgard has low-E 3 4th surface windows with a solar heat gain coefficient of .19 which blocks 81% of the heat of the sun. I'm glad to see window technology has advanced. Advanced Window upgraded my windows back in 2000. I called them back at the beginning of the year to upgrade a few windows to low-E 3. This latest round I called them to upgrade my patio doors to low-E 3 4th surface. About 3 weeks after I ordered my patio doors Advanced Window called me to schedule the installation. Advanced Window laid out heavy cloth to cover my carpet/rugs as I had concerns about getting them dirty. The install took less than a day. There was a tricky part as the opening for one patio door wasn't perfectly square. After a bit of work the doors are working perfectly and look great. They also redid the moulding which also looks great. There was a requirement to remove the blinds and there was an extra charge for removal and replacement. I opted not to have them do it and did it myself. I am quite happy with the new doors and windows and the installation. I have contracted with Advanced Window for all my window needs and would not hesitate to call them again in 20 years if the window technology has advanced to block 95% of the heat of the sun. I tested the windows and doors and in the summer heat that 19% is warming up the townhouse more than I prefer. For the kitchen window I cut a piece of cardboard to the same size as the window and taped aluminum foil on one side. For my west facing bedroom window I was able to get a piece of heavy duty cardboard that was just a bit smaller than the glass and taped aluminum foil to one side and stuck it in the window sill. Now every door or window has a car sunshield or my own custom cardboard sunshields helping keep out the sun. I'd estimate I'm keeping out 95% of the sun's heat. So far I haven't had the urge to turn on the AC this year. read more

Professional and efficient, but now I have filthy windows smeared with the clear glue/caulk/adhesive used to put them - which will not come off without considerable effort (2 hours on 2 windows, and not all the dried glue is gone - only 19 more hours of cleaning to go). Replacing 21 dual pane milguard windows (which were less than 13 years old, didn't face the sun or heat and were opaque to look through (but apparently there is no warranty).. Windows measured and ordered - about 2 weeks from ordering until the install was scheduled. Professional team showed up and began replacing windows. One window showed up broken and 3 didn't make the truck. I called the next day and they needed to order 2 more windows (I guess one of the ones that didn't make the truck was also broken). So they said they would order and be back out in two weeks. I asked about the smeared windows, first they mentioned that it was from the manufacturer's stickers that were on the glass. I described the handprints, smears and smudges that don't clean off with non-ammonia glass cleaner. They said they would clean off when they come back in two weeks and that cleaning is really a courtesy - and that they had done the job that I had contracted them for in replacing the windows - and they wanted payment for the 17 windows installed. So I either have to clean the windows myself - or wait two weeks for them to come back out so I can see my back-yard oasis clearly. I told them I wasn't satisfied with the job to this point - but since my realtor is picking up the tab on the windows until closing, I referred them to her for the payment - then I called my realtor and told her what I was dealing with... I get it that I only paid to have nice new clear windows installed, I didn't imagine they would be smeared during install, so for everyone out there condsidering using Advanced Window Inc, figure in the hours - or price - you're going to have to pay to actually have the windows cleaned after the team is done. read more

I can't give 0 stars so I'm giving 1. Worst customer service. I called them for what should have been a simple glass replacement on my sliding door. When they came out and measured their employee noticed the lock on the door was sticky, and they would fix it. When they came to replace the glass, I was out of town but received a call from the person taking care of my house to inform me that the installers had broken the lock on the door and it was stuck in the locked position. When I tried talking to them, I could hear them on speaker phone to the receptionist (Alicia) tell them "It's not our problem." The installers left the house and I had to call the office to find out what next steps were (no one reached out to me). She said she would call me the next day to let me know how they could fix it. Two days later, no call. I finally called them and they told me the lock was too old, it was going to break anyway, and they can't find a replacement lock, so I'm out of luck. They offered to cut off my old lock, and put a patch lock on it that would look ok and mostly serve the same purpose--it would not. When I told them that was unacceptable they told me they'd refer me to a locksmith who would cut it off for $200, at my expense and then they'd come back to put on a patch lock. I got off the phone and searched for the lock based on the exact words Alicia used to describe the type of lock it was and it was the FIRST GOOGLE RESULT ON THE PAGE. They clearly didn't even try to look for the lock. I sent them the lock and asked them to purchase it and fix the door as they had found it. They refused and I told them this was absolutely their responsibility which they denied. The owner (Carl?) called me back and tried to strong-arm me and be a tough guy, telling me he would like to come take the glass out and replace it with the old glass so he didn't have to deal with me any more. I bought the lock myself, found my own locksmith and fixed it on my own. A week later I looked closely at the glass and realized there are now TWO different types of glass in my door--the piece of glass they installed on the sliding door doesn't even match the stationary pane. This company was recommended by Milgard for repair of one of their sliding glass doors. Milgard had visited, examined the door and recommended this company for the repair since it was not under warranty. I had an appointment scheduled days in advance to have their tech visit. On the day of the visit their tech called and said he wanted photos of the door sent to him so he did not waste his time. I explained the problems we were having with the door but he did not want to look at it and said it needed to be replaced. Do not waste your time with this company, obviously at least one of their employees is entirely incompetent. read more
