My home refrigerator JennAir stopped cooling last Thursday evening. The freezer compartment still functions. I called Advantage Appliance Repair Friday morning, walked through the findings with Gilbert. To save money, I took his advise to defrost the refrigerator myself. Contacted Gilbert a couple more times to follow through to defrost this time again 24 hours plus, as the part manufacturer office was closed on weekends. WOW WOW WOW!!! I called their number on a Sunday afternoon, expecting to leave a message for callback, instead, the owner ( Gilbert) answers immediately. I described my 4.5 yr old LG Refrigerator issues to Gilbert and within minutes he understood and advised me of steps to take. He said I should contact LG customer service as it is a recognized issue/problem by LG and might still be under warranty even though its warranty is 3 yrs on fridge. LG will send technician to repair if it is same repeated problem but if that's not the case, I can call him back to schedule a repair visit. He even provided me the link to LG. I was very happy to hear of his suggestion, then he even sent me the link to contact LG. I was so amazed that Gilbert went above and beyond in my dilemma. Gilbert has provided excellent service to me twice in the last 3 years. In 2021, he fixed my LG washer (replacing the motor position sensor). He was speedy, professional, and friendly. He is definitely customer service oriented. Recently, I had an unrelated issue with the same LG washer. He spent over an hour with me on the phone and researching possible solutions with LG support. In the end, it was my fault - a nearby door had smacked into the front of the washer and caused a stuck button. I was able to unstick it myself and fix it. In any case, just like the first time Gilbert helped me, he was friendly and cared about getting a solution. Gilbert the owner of Advantage Repair was excellent about returning my calls and texts. He was booked the day I called him but encouraged me to troubleshoot my Samsung washer issues. With his encouragement I flushed my water hoses. Just like he thought, they were clogged. After flushing they worked perfectly. I then trimmed my discharge hose, ran my washer for a cleaning cycle with washing machine cleaner and all the washer issues worked themselves out. So much so that I didn't need Gilbert to service my machine. This company has been family owned since 1992 and actually cares about customers. I was so appreciative of his advice and encouragement to solve my washer problems myself that I'm here writing him a review. Gilbert was outstanding to work with. I had a Samsung french-door fridge that decided its internals needed to roll back to the ice age and freeze over behind everything that required screws, causing issues with its fan and no longer cooling the fridge effectively. I called Advantage Appliance Repair and reached Gilbert. He provided some information about the quirks of Samsung fridges, especially units with ice makers in the fridge compartment, and suggested some pre-work I could do to save a bit of money before he visits to avoid a step or two he would otherwise have had to perform. When speaking with him you could hear the knowledge and passion for his work and for his customers given the options he provided to help with cost. My cost savings ended up being a full 24h fridge defrost which required some logistics on my end, but was completely doable. This meant once Gilbert was able to arrive for maintenance it was much quicker to get panels off of the device without risk of breaking fragile or plastic components that might otherwise have been frozen in place; He would have had to take the time to steam defrost the unit himself over an indeterminate amount of time. He did find and replace a sensor that had gone bad. Now that the fridge is back on and had time to come to temp, it's as cold as it is supposed to be and I'm back in business. I'll keep an eye on the ice maker in case it still tries to get frosty even while the ice is turned off, but that's a worry for another day. I can't state enough my gratitude for Gilbert through this process. He's fantastic! read more

At first I felt deserted but after his phone calls of having family medical issues he obtained my replacement parts apologized I got out immediately to get it repaired and replaced. He had the original manufacturers parked new exactly what to do and got it all repaired and thoroughly checked out. Yep. This is the place you need to call if you have an appliance that needs service. I woke up to our refrigerator not being cold enough. Ugh. Panic sets in because you don't want to lose all the perishable food. And of course I had to go to work. My MIL was home and able to get all the stuff into coolers with ice and we called Advantage... I mean we needed someone ASAP. This is not an appointment that can wait a couple days. Well, guess what they were able to fit us in!!! Yeah!!! Gilbert came out and was so wonderful! Great service by owner Gilbert and his employee Dylan Vella. First let me start by saying they were very accommodating with the apt in the late evening. I originally called and left a message and Gilbert called me back in less than 15 min ( unlike San Jose Appliance..see my review). They were able to give me a quote and fix my washer the same day. I was able to use the $65 initial visit fee towards the total of $271. Dylan kept me up to date the whole time. These are the kind of people I enjoy doing business with. Here's what happened: Our fridge stopped working. I called Gilbert and he came home the same day at 9pm - we were desperate and really appreciated that he could fit us in the same day. He gave us some tips to defrost the fridge. We had a tough time finding dry ice and I had called about 5-6 local places but was not successful. I called him the next day to get some suggestions. He suggested a local shop and they carried dry ice! I didn't expect Gilbert to be so responsive after the service visit, but he went beyond that to call us a few days later to see if the fridge was working again. Thankfully it was! 100+ Stars for Gilbert and Advantage Appliance Repairs. Our coin operated washer broke and I called several places for repair. Some places didn't even bother calling back and some said they don't fix coin operated appliances and one place said they charge $99 just to show up. Gilbert was the only one who took the time to understand what the problem was, he made several trips to the home, he researched and called around for parts (since the washing machine was very very old). Gilbert went ABOVE and BEYOND to get an old machine to work again ... and the final bill was totally reasonable !!! I am sooooo glad we ended up using Gilbert.
