TL;DR - This is a great review for Joy Appliance Repair and a terrible review for Thermador's customer service. Joy Appliance Repair fixed the faulty fan of our built-in Thermador refrigerator (the defroster stopped working and the fan broke). Joyo, the owner, was very responsive in providing us with an estimate, ordering the right parts, and completing the repair. This was not a cheap fix (I guess that's part of the price you pay for a built-in Thermador refrigerator), and time will tell if our refrigerator keeps running smoothly, but we're grateful for Joyo's service and experience. Joyo is knowledgeable about Thermador's products, design, and manufacturing. If you have a Thermador, don't bother calling their service line - just call Joy Appliance Repair and get your fridge fixed. When our Thermador refrigerator started making rumbling noises, we knew something wasn't right. We suspected the fan was failing because the bottom drawer compartment was no longer feeling cold to the touch. After calling Thermador's service line and being told nonchalantly, "it's probably the fan freezing over" and "no way will your fridge die on you", we scheduled a service appointment with a Thermador technician (the earliest appointment was a week out). Lo and behold, 48 hours after that service call, our fridge stopped making noises - because it had stopped working altogether. Another call into the Thermador service line was met with total apathy, so we threw out all the food in the fridge and hung our hopes on our scheduled Thermador technician visit. Fast forward to the day of our appointment, and the technician cancels at the last minute, one hour into our arrival window. Customer service does not care - they simply reschedule us, this time two weeks out. At this point, we've purchased an emergency mini fridge, and we're scrolling through Yelp reviews in search of a refrigeration repair person who's familiar with Thermador and won't flake out on us. In comes Joy Appliance Repair to the rescue - Joyo examined our fridge, explained to us exactly what happened with the fan (apparently it's a known issue with this Thermador model), and laid out a plan for obtaining the parts and completing the repair. It took a few days for him to get the right parts and about 2 hours for the repair itself. His pricing was upfront and transparent, and we appreciated his clear and prompt communication. We won't hesitate to call on Joyo again if we experience issues with our Thermador appliances (fingers crossed we don't)! read more

We have a Thermador French door built-in refrigerator, and the freezer part stopped working. We have had Thermador technician come out for a different repair in the past, but this time, Thermador's appointments were several weeks out, so we started looking on Yelp for someone to come sooner. Joyo of Joy Appliance repair was super responsive and offered to come the next day. When that didn't work for us and I offered two days out, he said he could come same-day instead! He charges a diagnosis fee for the visit, which you can apply toward the repair if you go with him for the repair. They diagnosed what they suspected to be the issue and said they'd order the part and come back. They honestly warned us that if this doesn't fix the issue it might be a more expensive repair, but they hoped this less expensive repair would do the trick. They offered an additional cleaning service as well for an additional fee, but we declined. He sent us a formal quote and time estimate for the part to arrive. We agreed to the work and about a week later our fridge in working condition again! Overall, Joy Appliance was super responsive, quick, communicative, and effectively fixed our fridge! We were needing our Viking Gas Stove top repaired. The burners were not igniting quickly as they used to be and we were manually using an igniter. We were happy to find someone through YELP to look at it and that they knew the Viking brand. Joyo and associate came, sent us an estimate which we accepted. They ordered parts. Kept us informed and were easy to communicate with. It took only 5-7 days wait. We appreciate they also made sure the rest of our oven was working, gave adviseto not use the self cleaning because it gets very hot and could affect the top burners. In short, they are very professional and easy to speak to and ask questions. Also they were always on time. The cost was $1482. Pretty steep but we needed it done and had no comparisons. TLDR; don't think, just call these guys! I called Joy appliance late on Friday night after I realized my subzero freezer was not working. It was after hours, but they still answered the phone. Very quickly got on their books for Monday morning. Joyo and his cousin art came right on time. Right out of the gate, they were both super nice guys! As they pulled up, I was pulling out my trash, and they offered to help! They're just both very genuine and considerate people. After an initial diagnosis, they suspected the problem was with my fan and my filter. They did a very quick cleanup to see if that would help it get working again. At that point, they said even if it does start working, I should consider replacing the fan because it's leaking oil . They did get the freezer working right away, but I opted to also replace the fan. They came back that Thursday with the part. They changed out the fan and serviced the unit. It is now working perfectly! Throughout the entire process, they were both very straightforward on how things worked, and what may or may not be needed to replace based on what symptoms. They are both super honest and hard-working. If you need a kitchen, appliance repaired, I highly recommend them. They will be my go to from now on, as a lot of my appliances are older. Joyo and Art helped us to bring our Sub-Zero fridge back to work real quick! My freezer was at 37 degrees at some point, food all spoiled. Vacuum cleaned the condenser but no luck. We called Joy Appliance Repair and they came to our house for an estimation the next day. We were happy with the swift response and they show great respect to their customer and the property - they let you know their ETA and came on time. They even wear their shoe covers! After the diagnostic the fridge was not in good shape - some major parts like the compressor and the evaporator need to be replaced. It was not going to be a small job. They explained patiently what the situation was and what needed to be done. We made the deposit and they went ahead and ordered the parts from Sub-Zero. It was a Friday. As soon as all the parts arrived on Thursday and Joyo called us immediately and asked if they could come to work on it. Of course that was more than welcome. The whole job including welding, installation and testing took them nearly 2.5hrs. They worked hard and professionally.
