Had a GE dryer that was making a clunking sound when the drum was turning. After a few minutes it would shut off leaving me with wet laundry. This was intermittent and I've been through this before with this unit. I took a video of the dryer in action making the clunking sound, because it's Murphy's law that when you get someone out to diagnose the issues, it cannot be replicated. So [[HIGHLIGHT]]I schedule a diagnostic appointment with L-One on Yelp, and I get a text that Alex is on the way. He arrives in 20 minutes[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and I take him to the dryer. I explain the issue and we go to turn it on and guess what. It works perfectly. Like a bad kid trying to prove to his parents that there's no problem. So I whip out my phone and show Alex the video of the dryer behaving badly. He then says Ok I'll take it apart and see what the issue is. After about 25 minutes of disassembly, and a call to the parts shop, Alex calls me over to show me what he discovered. The drum wheels are toast. With two of the four wheels barely hanging on to allow it to intermittently turn. Alex provided my options and said he only replaces the parts with genuine OEM parts not aftermarket. That also explains the wheels that failed, since I had this same dryer repaired just 2 years ago due to the same problem. Alex pointed out that the wheels that failed were aftermarket, installed by the previous guy that came out (from a different company also found here on Yelp) After Alex returned from picking up the new wheels, he had it back together in about 30 minutes. My 2 cents, there are a lot of choices out there. L-One is prompt, explains the issues well, and fair priced. Would definitely call them out again for in home repairs. But this GE dryer although works well now after the repair, is bound to bust a wheel again. So it will be on Facebook Marketplace soon. But L-One Appliance Repair is recommended. read more

Our dryer was smelling like smoke and the lint trap was backed up. He took a look at the problem and told me what the charge would be up front before even going into the dryer to see what was in there. I appreciated getting a flat price for "everything" up front: $279. He was here for about 2 hours. Opened up the whole dryer and indeed the inside was a mess with charred lint (see pix). [[HIGHLIGHT]]He kindly advised me to get it cleaned out every 3-4 years (we'd had it for well over 10 years and never cleaned it out).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He diligently worked to clean it all out. Also checked the wheels that guide the drum and the belt that turns the drum. He showed me that all the wheels spun well except for the pulley that guides the belt (indeed it didn't spin). Said for another $20 he could replace the pulley wheel to prevent future issues. Seemed reasonable to get done while he was in there. He worked efficiently and thoroughly and got the job done. For $299 total I felt it was worth it to get everything cleaned and checked out to avoid a future garage fire! I'll be giving them a call in a few years to come do another cleaning (put it in my calendar). read more

The guy on the call was rude. Unfortunately can't comment on the work because I ended up asking them to cancel my appointment. They promptly responded and so I called them up asking for a same day appointment. Someone( possibly owner) responded. I was able to get an appointment. They reluctantly accommodated when I told them their automatically assigned time doesn't work for me. They said visit is $75 to diagnose and then the visit is covered if we go with them. Price was a little steep. My dishwasher for some reason started working again. I have no idea why it didn't work in the first place ( I've had it for 6 years) and didn't know why it started working. I called them immediately to cancel them and apologized I said something like- "I'm sorry I don't want to waste your time if my dishwasher is already working". The guy responded with "well you've already wasted our time". I felt that was quite unexpected, unnecessary and frankly rude. I believe it was the same guy as before. read more
