My fridge had a burned main board, they replaced it and that was it. Very quick - the technician drove to the parts store to get the part.

I'm probably one of the most difficult people to please. I'm not proud of this but my past was in the restaurant business. Letting repair people into my home psychologically is not easy. Most think the homeowners are not knowledgeable and we aren't, otherwise we would fix it ourselves. However, we have everything else you need to be a judge of a clean, knowledgeable, honest, and efficient repair person. Marian's first visit was to vacuum out our Thermador refrigerator and garage fridge. I wasn't in the mood to meet him but my husband told me how he worked. I liked what I heard. About 2 weeks later the heavier door on the Thermador fridge slumped. To be honest, it wasn't to my satisfaction brand new, the door was sticking out a little but after a remodel of the entire home, one gets burnt out. Marian fixed the door better than the brand new one installed and showed us why and how the problem happened. The stove he changed the lights effectively and fast. Then the big question came from me, can you take the oven door off and take it apart to be cleaned? I've asked 2 other appliance companies if they could but they said it takes a long time and is not easy. Then I said, I can make a new appointment for this for you to come back. He said, he could fix it now. My oven door has 3 glasses. To watch him take off the door and apart was pretty amazing because of his calm, perfected work speed and stress-free demeanor. We all know talent when we see it. I think by now, I told him 3 times how happy I was, and thank you too. Lastly, if you are wise enough to call him for help then you must have done many great things in life to get him. Also, YES his prices are well thought out and fair and reasonable. If you are the kind of person who tries to get a lower price from businesses, don't call because you don't deserve him. read more

I scheduled Marian Appliance Repair through Yelp and Marian was super responsive right away. My fridge had been making a weird noise, but it actually stopped after a couple of days. I let him know, but he still suggested coming out to check it just in case--which I appreciated. When he arrived, he was on time, very friendly, and professional. He checked everything and noticed my freezer had a lot of ice buildup, which was likely the cause of the noise. He mentioned we could wait for it to defrost so he could clean it out, and I was like... are we really going to wait for that? Then he casually said he had a steamer and could take care of it right away--I was honestly impressed. He cleaned out the ice buildup quickly and explained everything clearly. The icemaker on my Whirlpool gold french door, 3-drawer refrigerator stopped working. Had another technician come and he could not fix it. He arrived when he said he would and wore shoe covers when entering my home. He troubleshooted and replaced my ice maker and it still didn't work. Returned the second time and figured out my refrigerator fan was not working and the ambient cold from my frozen food was keeping the fridge cold. My 13-year-old refrigerator quit cooling on the weekend (of course!) On Monday, I called a recommended appliance repair shop, but could not get an appointment before Friday. Marian was responsive with scheduling, upfront with the diagnostic price, on time with his arrival (including a heads-up contact), and pleasant to have in my home. The job wasn't necessarily difficult, yet he spent a lot of time making sure he was satisfied with the job. Our 20-year-old DCS All Gas 5-burner range had a couple of burners that were "sputtering" in an unusual way. Seeing as we've had the range for 20 years, we know when something is different. Since the "mother ship" had never really needed a check-up before, I felt it was time for a professional to determine her health status. Marian came into our home eager, confident, and ready to apply himself to the job. Again not rocket science I guess, but a legitimate issue to resolve. After cleaning the pinholes and burner covers, after testing, retesting, and testing again ALL the burners - not just the ones I'd been wary of - and then testing the flame's variable performance with and without a pan on the burner, he was satisfied. My refrigerator stopped working so I did my own troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the temp sensor but they were going to take a week to be delivered so I called Marian. Marian mentioned on the phone he believed it was not the sensors and came out the same day. After troubleshooting he stated it was the fan so he replaced it and started working so he put everything together but it immediately stopped running again. After more troubleshooting he found there was a short in the wire and found the connection cracked. Marian fabricated a new connector and everything is working great. I'm glad I called him because I would never have found that, wasted money and then spent $2K on a new fridge.
