The doctor is in! 8 years I've lived next to this place and NEVER noticed it! After a rather shady experience at Brite Dental on Milwaukee I decided to get a second opinion. Diana and the Dr. are very courteous. The place is small, but they do their best to accommodate you. They have an area for kids in the front lobby. It's surprisingly high tech as well. They quickly thought up a plan to repair my teeth and also verified that items like a deep cleaning didn't need pre-authorization (Brite Dental said it did and it got denied due to some shady things Brite Dental tried to pull.) After the exam and planning they scheduled my procedures for a few days later which blew me away as these things usually take forever to schedule. A few days pass and I now have restored, happy teeth! Not only were they able to do the deep cleaning, but they did a bunch of fillings and gave me a polishing. They completely outshined Brite Dental in every aspect! Thanks! read more

About a year ago I got a coupon in the mail . It was 69 bucks so I went here to get a "cleaning" and a "checkup". I probably spent 30 minutes in the chair total. They took x-rays and "cleaned" my teeth for like 5-10 minutes. After looking at the x-ray of my one tooth her told me that I would NEED an extraction and tooth implant --offering no other alternative. This was pretty upsetting because that's a several thousand dollar job--for one tooth! I wasn't about to fork that over w/ out a second opinion. 2 weeks later I fly down to Florida to see my uncle. I find that over and over again...dentists seems to always want to do unnecessary procedures. So..I get to my uncle's practice and he's able to slip me in during his lunch. I'm nervous as hell waiting to find out the news. After x-rays and viewing it through their new high res cameras he tells me that what it needs is bonding!..Pheeeewww..and if it hurt in the future I might need a root canal. This is all SOOO much better than a tooth implant--Jesus! When I get back I call Advantage Dental Care and tell them what I experienced. I get another dentist in the practice to examine my xrays. He even agrees that a root canal diagnosis would've been more appropriate!! I told them I want a damn refund and shame on them! He gave me some lame duck excuse why they "couldn't". WHAT A SCAM! I wasn't planning on writing a review for my dentist, but after reading some of the reviews here, I have to speak up. I've been going here for years, as it is close to home and the out of pocket expenses are reasonable compared to other dentists in Chicago. THIS IS NOT A BOUTIQUE DENTIST, like the dentists where I've spent a small fortune prior to finding this place. I don't like going to any dentist, so no amount of designer furniture and high tech will ever change that for me. This is a dentist located in a strip mall, in between a UPS store and a tanning salon, so you need to manage your expectations. I like this place, because I can schedule appointments easily, sometimes the same day. I am happy to say I spend very little time in the waiting room, given the dentist has always seen me on time. I have noticed the clientele there is working class and ethnic, but representative of the mixed neighborhood. That might turn off some people, but this isn't a timber loft dentist practice in Lincoln Park. My main complaint is no Nitrous Oxide. That would have gotten 4 stars. That is partly made up for in this dentist's close proximity to Tastee Freez. So you can get your teeth cleaned and immediately start back in on the cold sweets right out the door. Of course, if you like your ice cream treats from a person in a white lab coat in an upscale Gold Coast ice cream parlor, you will hate Tasty Freeze. But that's another review... read more

I am so sorry reviewers but I have to disagree on this one. This is my go to place for dental care. I have had nothing but positive experiences and have gone here for 2 years since I moved to the city. My son and I both have been here numerous times for fillings and cleanings. My son (at age 6) even had a tooth pulled and they were so good with him. As for the RUDE and PREJUDICE reviewer: "The some Asian Lady's" name is Dr. Nguyn and she is amazingly patient with children and wonderful with people like me. Not sure why you had a problem, but I must ask ..have you ever been to a dentist before? Don't you know that it can be expensive if your not caring for your teeth? How do you think the dental industry makes money? What about your doctors office? It is YOUR job as a consumer to ASK HOW MUCH before you receive a service and always get 2nd opinions. I have never spend more than a few hundred at a time there and have always received beyond that in quality of service. They have all the state of the art equipment and the staff is very accommodating. They are AMAZING with kids. Reasonable and they always spend at least 30 minutes or more with patients in my experience. read more

Well I had neglected going to the dentist for many years and then had to go in a bit of a hurry because a filling came out. I was worried an appt was going to take forever due to covid. One dental office couldn't see me for a month. Fortunately I called Advantage and they saw me NEXT day. Everyone was so helpful from the receptionist who verified my insurance on the phone to my dental assistant and Dr. JUNG was a real professional!!! They even were great on the billing and discounts. I truly found the right dental group!! I couldn't be more pleased and I have very high standards. read more

I broke an upper-front tooth over the weekend and almost half of the tooth broke-off. I called this dental practice on Monday morning. Cindy answered and she was very courteous. Prior to my call, I viewed their website. I requested Dr. Jeffery Korkus and he was available for a walk-in appointment. After completion of the new patient paperwork, Maggie escorted me for the customary teeth X rays. She was very professional and patient. When I saw Dr. Korkus; and after he reviewed my X rays, he explained the overall dental work that required attention. Then, he focused on the broken tooth at-hand. Dr. Korkus said it was salvageable, and he would utilize composite fillings for restoration. After 30 minutes or so, Dr. Korkus - along with his dental assistant, Diana - restored my tooth! Their excellent teamwork made it look even better than before. I am completely elated with the end-results! Thereafter, Cindy and Maria completed the payment paperwork. FYI, they accept Care Credit for payment. In conclusion, Dr. Korkus is very polite, diligent and professional. He was attending to several patients; but still managed to squeeze in my emergency appointment. The entire staff was courteous. The facility is clean. The restroom even has a professional wall hand dryer. Lastly, there is free-parking available. I highly recommend this dental practice! Give them a try... read more

I came the Advantage Dental Care after a horrendous experience at the North Avenue Family Dental (yes, I've written a review about them too). I had to get a rootcanal in one tooth and it was a precarious procedure due the root being crooked (I have a really small mouth). The dentist (I can't remember names even if my life depended on, so sorry I can't give the dentist's name) was very open and informative about the procedure, showed me the X Rays, explained what needed to be done and that I might have to go see a specialist due to the complex nature of the tooth itself. He then said he was willing to give it a try and if he wasn't able to complete the cleaning of the root, he would refer me to a specialist and - get this! - not charge me for the uncompleted procedure. At that point I knew that I was in the care of a dentist who truly cared about my dental well-being and was not just after my money. I went to the appointment a week later and everything went fantastically well! The dentist was able to save the tooth by getting the infected root cleaned up and it was completely painless. He also confirmed that the tooth next to it was doing just fine (which is the tooth the previous dentist had insisted needed a filling and a crown). I'm no fan of going to the dentist (I doubt anyone is) which is why I'm so glad I chose this particular dentist office, for the staff is super nice, the atmosphere is relaxed, the facility itself is really really clean, and they are ALWAYS on time (so make sure you're on time, for they will be). On top of all of the above, they even send you a text to remind you of your appointment a couple of hours beforehand, which I think is just wonderful. All in all, I give this dental office five stars and recommend them highly! read more

I highly suspect P H. is a staff member of Advantage Dental Care. Because I was a patient and agree with the others- DO NOT GO HERE! I was worried at first, because I didn't think that I should go to the dentist that is located in the strip mall. Should of gone with that intuition! It seems all high tech in there and it is somewhat clean. But once you begin to get examined, all of sudden they slam you with all these cleanings and operations that you "should" get. The estimations went up to $2000! My jaw almost dropped. The dentist was rude(some Asian lady) and she kept of trying to push me to get these cleanings etc.. She told me I had a severe case of gingivitis and that if I didn't receive their cleaning, I would be in trouble, which I'm not going to lie, scared me a bit. So I went to get a second opinion, at Dr. Matsumoto's office on Clark in Andersonville. Huge difference! Not only was it cheaper and had a warmer atmosphere, but they did not pressure me at all! In fact, they said that my teeth weren't that bad and suggested an alternative method that was a lot cheaper. I ended up getting my teeth cleaned and fixed at Dr. Matsumoto's all for under $1000! So, don't get swayed by that coupon in the mail for the $99 cleaning. DO NOT GO HERE NO MATTER HOW GOOD THAT COUPON LOOKS. If you are looking for a good dentist that isnt too expensive- go to DR. MATSUMOTO on clark by Andersonville. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

This office is terribly run and does not do a thorough job with its cleanings. I came for my check-up as a Chicago newbie who wanted a convenient dentist in my neighborhood. At the time, the staff took my x-rays and did a suspiciously quick cleaning. At the time, I chalked the speed of the cleaning to my sterling dental health. Six months later, I came for my six-month cleaning and waited for over forty minutes in the waiting room before being led to an examination room where I was left for dead for another twenty minutes. By this point, I'd been there for over an hour and had not gotten an update or an offer to reschedule my appointment. I walked out of the appointment because a half-assed cleaning wasn't worth an hour-long wait. Final word: Find a different dentist if you can. This office is not set up to serve patients who have schedules or value their time and won't do a thorough cleaning because its operation is not set up to deliver quality maintenance care. I've always been seen very quickly....I always get great service from the front desk, the dental hygienists and the dentists.
