Workmanship was first rate, and I got to go up and inspect the job just before they finished (unplanned). Every detail was "right". With El Niño coming, we wanted to get a new roof & gutters. I checked Yelp, after some friends suggested a few other roofing companies. So, I picked 4-5 companies to call for a bid. After, meeting with all of them, we chose Advantage Roofing. From my first contact, they were professional. Luis came out to measure our roof. He was the only one that invited me up on the roof to show me, what they were going to do. We had a few concerns about certain areas, Luis addressed them, on how they would fix them. He made an appointment, to return with a bid. We met with him again, he covered everything. The only company, that actually gave us a presentation. (Good job, Luis!) Jorge (the foreman) came out to remeasure the roof, & asked how we wanted the gutters, downspouts, etc...Since he was going to order the materials that day, he wanted to make sure he got everything we needed. When they started the demo, they were done in about half a day. David & Luis showed up, & went over how to solve the problem our particular roof had. They took the time to walk us up the block & show us what our neighbors done to fix the same issue. (Some were good, some not so good.) They figured out a way to fix it, while not ruining the curb appeal. Jorge & his crew showed up, & started to repair some dry rot. (Make sure you have a contingency budget.) Luis called me to tell me that there would be some additional costs. He worked with us, keeping the cost down. (Thank you, Luis!) About the same time, David was on the roof taking pictures to show me why they needed to replace some boards. David invited me up on the roof to show me. By that time, a quarter of the roof already had shingles on it! In the following days, Jorge finished to roof, & gutters. Even allowing me to paint the chimney flashing, & spark arrester, before they installed it. (I sure didn't want to have to do it after it was installed!) We have a tricky house, so it took a little longer. But, why rush perfection? The roof, chimney flashing, & gutters look great! The true test was when it rained one night. We slept peacefully. This company provides excellent customer service - thank you, Luis! I have been chasing roofing contractors for weeks. Been told time and time again they're busy, which I understand. I had a small job and most roofers laughed and wished me luck, even after I mentioned that I can wait. Some never show up for the appointment, no call, nothing. On a lucky day, someone will show up but then never came back with the estimate, sigh! I was ready to toss the towel, but decided to call one more company. I called Advantage Roofing. I really enjoyed working with Advantage Roofing and would recommend them to others! I needed my gutters repaired, and called in several businesses on yelp for quotes. It was a complicated job because of how the existing gutters were installed, so the quotes I got (and the type of work they suggested done) wildly varied. What I appreciated right away from Dave at Advantage Roofing was that he took videos of the roof since I couldn't be on it --- something no other roofer did -- and then took the time to explain what he would do. He suggested a reasonable solution that would not require me to replace part of the roof. The guys he sent were awesome -- they were courteous, responsive, moved fast, and cleaned up after their work. We were able to book a time quickly. Once done, I discovered after the first rain that a small part did not get replaced as discussed, and Dave sent his guys back to solve the problem. Very straightforward, honest group with whom to work. With roofers it can be tricky to make sure the job is being done to code and according to manufacturer's specifications. Advantage was prompt, neat (it is, by nature, a messy job remember) and did a great job keeping us up to date by showing us photos of what was going on up there - and all for a fair price. While they gave me a great bid, I was more sold on Bob Bayne's expertise. He addressed all of my concerns. I had $3-5K worth of dry rot on my Eichler and Bob recommended solutions (which saved me thousands) and prevention. He suggested a quality roofing material from CertainTeed. The work on my house was very well organized and thoughtful. Bob gave extra attention to the weak elements on the house; chimney, vents etc. Everything was done to code and manufacturer's recommendation. Advantage Roofing came to my rescue on the rainy Sunday night after Thanksgiving after the covering over the light well between the bathroom and toilet in our 1937 house collapsed and water was flooding the first floor of the house. The owner came himself to install a tarp over the well and then sent his team over the next day to put on a new cover. I had just had the roof repaired badly a few months before so Advantage came as quickly as they could to replace the entire roof. I am suing the other company and the State is investigating. Suppose to write this review months ago and I hold it off because there is no rain in the Bay Area this winter and not sure if my new roof have any leak. After the recent rain and a few major down pour lately I decided to give Advantage Roofing Inc. 99 points out of a hundred and I will tell you why I hold on to that 1 point later. Before I choose Advantage roofing, I did my home work and interview at least 6 roofing company. I decided to give the job to Dave because he really listen to what I want and gave me some very good suggestions. Also, I want to make sure that they are license and insure and give me a fair quote. I have to say the whole crew at advantage roofing are very experience and they know what they are doing with no short cut and finished the job great. They clean up everyday and didn't even left a single nail when they were done. Some of my stucco inside the house fall off because of some serious hammering taking out the old roof. Dave immediately sent a painter and fixed everything for me like new. The reason I hold on to that 1 point is because it takes a little longer than I expected ordering the custom skylights. Not only the general manager Mr. David Taylor is sooo nice, honest and sincere, his price was much better than the others and the materials and warranty were better also. I hired Advantage Roofing to replace my old roof at my Daly City home. The roof was leaking and the house had "Dutch Style" gutters (gutters built In roof) which was also leaking. A lot of the roofing companies where booked for several months. I worked with David and Luis and they were able to accommodate me even though they were also busy and was able to get there within a few days which was great cause there was another storm on its way. They striped the roof down, cut off the original gutters, install new flashings, roof vents, spark arrester for chimney and 40 year shingles's in 3-days before the rain came again. 2-days later their gutter company installed custom formed aluminum gutters. A few heavy storms have rolled through and no leaks. I would highly recommend them to anyone for roofing repairs. They are very knowledgeable and really understood my situation and dilemma that I was in. Their price happened to be the lowest too. I want to to say thanks to David and Luis. The big storm we had a few weeks ago led to a huge amount of water pouring into my house. It was really hard to get anyone to help with this, especially as the rain continued day after day. I managed to get a hold of Dave at Advantage and he agreed to come out and take a look at my roof. Dave inspected the roof and didn't see any problems. A few days later I realized that the water was coming in from a blocked gutter/drain spout. I asked Dave to come back and check it out. He made time to come back and found a plastic ball clogging the gutter. Fortunately, I didn't need a new roof, just somebody who could help me figure out what was going wrong. Dave was a lifesaver! He restored my faith in people and reminded me that not everyone is out to make a buck. I don't know about their roofing ability, but I do know that these guys are genuine, caring people, and I'm sure that carries through in everything they do. read more
