Great family paddle on Lake Dillon! We did the Island Tour (9-11:30am) with 2x 2-seaters & 1 solo (15 yr old) to cover the 3 kids and had an incredible time thanks to our guide Brittany. We had a great time. This was suggested to us by the Colorado Adventure Bucket List (which you can find on Amazon, among other places). We pulled a card for Frisco and the scratch off revealed a QR code for this paddling experience. We took the whole family (three adults and two children) and had a really good time. Our guide, Norris, was incredibly knowledgeable about the reservoir and surrounding mountains. The pace was excellent for the whole group. This was a very sedate experience, which was perfect for our mixed group of people. Equipment was all in great shape and the tour was well run. Definitely recommend! read more

Great activity if you are staying in Breckenridge. It was a 2 1/2 hours of kayaking along the Dillon Reservoir in Frisco. Britney was our tour guide and she was very attentive,friendly and knowledgeable as all along the tour she was sharing some history and fun facts. She takes very seriously safety first including proper alignment for better and safe kayaking performance. It was a very well paced tour so any level of expertise can join such adventure. Definitely the earlier thr better. We did a noon expedition and weather was great on that specific day. The following day I drove bye and water was choppy around thr same time. The tour guide also takes a pictures of you and you get free upload! We didn't take our phones so this was priceless! Thanks Britney for an amazing tour! We did our kayak tour in June while visiting CO and it was probably the best thing I booked for our trip. Our guide (Britney!!) was awesome at instructing us as first-time kayakers and was very friendly and welcoming. We had a fun time doing the morning island paddle tour led by Norris. My wide and daughter took a tandem kayak and I was in a single. We got a nice, long tour of Dillon Reservoir, and saw many Osprey flying around, entering nests with food, and guarding their young. Norris knew a lot about the history of the reservoir and surrounding communities, and the local geography and wildlife. The kayaks were in good condition and it was a fun paddling around for a couple hours. Definitely a great activity to do in summer visits to the mountains. read more

We have done kayak tours on Lake Dillon with Adventure Paddle Tours every year for over a decade, and we keep coming back. The guided tours are great for a family and are an amazing way to see Summit County from the surface of the lake. Depending on the tour, you can see much of both the Gore Range and the Tenmile Range. Our tour guides are very knowledgeable and can teach you a lot about the ecology and history of the area on your tour. On one tour, for instance, we learned all about the history of the Gore range and the man for whom it is named (a pretty terrible aristocrat who claimed to have slaughtered over 2,000 bison in the 1850's). The tours themselves are not too strenuous, with the 90 minute family tour providing a nice way to see the lake with younger children, and the 2 1/2 hour island tour giving a more comprehensive trip around the lake. I would highly recommend you make a kayak tour part of your visit to Summit County. read more

My 16 year old daughter and I had a great time. Brittany was a great guide, and Kyle was a fantastic host. We did the 'boat supported' tour - which is not what the title suggests. The boat support refers to a return to the marina via pontoon boat, so that the kayak tour is not a roundtrip. This makes it possible to explore further away from the marina. This was the best kayaking experience I've ever had! We took a wonderful tour with a tour guide named Kyle. He kept the speed at a medium pace which everyone easily kept up with. I suggest wearing a lot of sunscreen and bring a hat. Also, it's cold in the mornings, but after you're out on the lake, you start to warm up. So a tank top and jacket would be perfect wear! It was about 3 miles total and was a piece of cake! Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this awesome kayak rental! read more

We took our two nieces on the 2.5 hour tour. Kyle did a great job of keeping the tour fun and informative. His enthusiasm for being out on the water and seeing the local wildlife, including bald eagles, was contagious. Kayakers who have little or no experience will find the experience unintimidating since the point to point tour allots plenty of time for slower kayakers to catch up to the more experienced under Kyle's light-handed coaching. Experienced kayakers will enjoy a relaxed paddle and learn some hidden parts of the lake. Lastly, the equipment we used was of high quality and well maintained. The kayaks are very stable, which generally promises barge-like performance, but these gain speed adequately and are maneuverable. I recommend this tour. read more

Kayak Lake Dillon provided an exceptional adventure for my friends & I. We actually participated in both kayaking and stand up paddleboarding over our visit to the Frisco Marina. Kyle & Jared are both very knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable with the gear and education we needed to enjoy ourselves out on the water. We booked the tour where you paddle out and the boat comes to get you at the end. Kyle got us all set up and Brittney was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and easy for us to keep up with. The weather got a bit windy towards the end so Kyle came to pick us up and took us on a tour around the area we were unable to kayak in. They were both very good and well worth the time and money. I would recommend them for all ages as our family of 7 has ages ranging from 8 to 68. read more

We took a kayaking tour with Kyle in September 2013, and it was fantastic! The scenery is incredible, and getting the chance to kayak across the lake was terrific. It was definitely worth it to go with Kyle as opposed to simply renting kayaks on our own-- he pointed out two bald eagles to us that I completely would have missed otherwise. Plus, he directed us into a little channel where were able to kayak in calm water for a bit, and it had the most breathtaking view of the mountains that we saw all day. I was visiting Breck with a few out of town friends, and we ended up trying out Kayak Lake Dillon. I could not have been more impressed with how seamless the board rental process is! EASY and FUN. There were 8 of us in our group - 4 adults and 4 kids (10 - 16 years old). Two other adult couples were in the group as well as our guide (a really helpful and informative girl from Ireland). We went out for 2.5 hours and had a blast. She said that it can be more difficult on really windy days, such as the day before ours, but ours was perfect. Just a bit of wind in some spots (enough to create a few white caps) but it wasn't bad. We saw a bald eagle, blue herons, and spotted a few beaver dams. It was super fun and although it was work at times it wasn't bad. All did well and would love to do it again! read more

We did the SUP boarding with Kyle. It was an amazing experience. No better way to beat the heat and crowds than heading out onto the lake. Lake Dillon has some amazing scenery.
