Because our new house was built in the 70s, we were really concerned whether there was any asbestos products in our new home. Adviro's team came out in the same day and did a whole-house survey, sampling a popcorn ceiling, some garage materials, ductwork components, drywall, and a fireplace. Called company and got an estimate, but when I did some research and called back to ask for certification re smoke damage assessment, the man answering became defensive and when I asked why, he said "I don't want to have this conversation, and accused me, "you obviously have an agenda". I needed a thorough assessment of asbestos and lead in a 74 year old house. I have two young kids so I needed to know the risks with the house especially since I was remodeling parts of the house. Advisor had a really good package of services that would collect plenty of samples for one straightforward fee. Other places have al la cart options to save you some money if you know exactly what you wanted tested. I like the packaged deal to do a comprehensive sweep. Eddy and Gary were the two technicians who inspected my property. They were super professional and knowledgeable about the process and suspected materials for sampling. While getting quotes to re-insulate our attic, one of the contractors mentioned that we almost certainly have asbestos surrounding our HVAC ductwork. We had no idea. After several hours of googling the crap out of asbestos and asbestos abatement, we decided the next step was to hire a company to determine 1) if the material was, in fact, asbestos; and 2) if the asbestos had deteriorated to the point that it was in our home and affecting our air quality. Adviro responded to our request for a quote right away. On the phone with Frank, he confirmed that we had a good sense of what the process would be and that they could help us all the way up to recommending abatement companies if we decided to go that route. Gary came the next day and answered a bunch more of our questions before getting to work. He set up the air quality test pump in our hallway and then took ten dust samples from all around our house. The air test takes about two hours, so he left and then came back (exactly when he said he would). Then he went up into the attic to examine the ductwork, take pictures, and take a sample of the material. Our tests came back positive for asbestos material, but zero (woohoo!) asbestos found in our air. Given this result, we have opted to leave the asbestos in place and never ever touch it. So we didn't need the abatement recommendations from Adviro. But if we ever have doubts about our safety, we will be calling Adviro right away. We recently got asbestos tested with Adviro after contractor found suspicious material at the AC insulation. I went and got quote from several companies, and decided to move forward with Adviro for various reasons: 1. Frank is very responsive as mentioned by others. He responses fast to emails, text messages and phone calls. 2. Price wise Adviro seems not to be the cheapest, but if you want to do a full house examination like me, their price is actually pretty good, considering the amount of samples they took. Need to be aware that other companies would charge per sample per layer, meaning if a company charges $20 per sample, a kitchen floor sample with 4 layers will cost $20 * 4. With Adviro I don't worry about how many layers exactly are there in the kitchen floor. 3. They are compliant with various industrial standards, looks very professional. 4. The report was ready fast. I received the report in two days after the appointment. The whole process for my house took about an hour. Frank was quite patient when I kept asking questions while he was working. He tried to minimize the impact of the sampling on the house. I would recommend Adviro to others. read more

I had a good experience working with Adviro. I called the front desk to get a quote for asbestos/lead testing and they clearly explained the price for each test and how/where it would be tested. I chose to only do asbestos testing for some popcorn ceiling in a home prior to doing renovation work. Kim was the sampling technician sent to the property. She arrived on time and described the process: she would do a brief walkthrough of the home, sketch out a rough layout, and take samples from 3 different rooms. The appointment was quick, no more than 30 mins. When she was done, she also helped explain the how the testing would work and what it means if my samples tested above or below a certain percentage of asbestos. Her explanation was clear and she was very open to answering any questions I had. Payment was due after the appointment and I received the report 24 hours later. I reached out to Adviro after a recommendation from the estimator at our company. I had called another company we had used previously but got an uneasy feeling about the representative as they were very pushy about setting up the inspection, contacting me multiple times, and because their pricing ($800) was almost twice Adviro and other local companies for the exact same deliverable. My experience with Adviro was great. From the initial phone call to the inspection and follow-through, everyone was professional, genuine, and very easy to work with. They were especially accommodating and understanding of my situation dealing with severe lung issues that now prompted a home inspection to see if there was an environmental issue contributing to my illness. In addition to a complete home inspection for mold, the sampler tech took a sample from inside a wall in my master bedroom where a moisture breach had occurred years ago, and although dry to touch, moisture meter readings and air samples from inside the wall showed it was likely the area of my home that had mold. A second tech came out the following day to test the master bedroom air specifically and to see how the room readings compared to the rest of the home where had test results showed no issues. I am grateful for the extra effort Kim took to help me isolate the problem. Again, from the office staff to the techs and individual providing the report, Adviro was great. read more

Bought a new house and wanted to do a mold, asbestos, and lead test because my wife and I wanted to get an idea of the environment for our 5-month little one. Asked for a quote to 4 nearby top-rated environmental consulting/testing businesses, got the first response from Emily, the office admin with Adviro in 3 min. I called back and told Emily that there were remodeling works on going and Emily recommended to do asbestos and lead after everything was done since the remodeling could affect the environment which I thought was sensible and agreed. Emily helped to schedule a test the same day then here came Kim and Gary the Sampling Technicians, they arrived on time and briefly introduced themselves and explained how they were to conduct the work. They did two samples indoor and one comparison sample outside. They finished all jobs in 45 min. I got the bill later in email and paid online. The lab results came out and was sent to me in email in less than 4 hours after the sampling was taken. I got detailed data in report and a brief summary from Kim in email. I was concerned about asbestos within my home. I called a few companies and adviro was by far the best. I was able to talk to Eddie and he listened to all my concerns. Based on my concerns he explained the different type of asbestos testing they do from air quality, surface testing etc and really helped me understand what each of those tests do and the value they provide. He didn't try and push or force me to do anything and I really appreciated it. After we settled on the type of testing that I wanted to be done they sent me a detailed quote with a price by price breakdown of what each component costs and what total fixed cost would be. Note: I did not hire them directly. Their work at my house was done through my insurance claim - they were a subcontractor of another subcontractor, SupraClean (as I believe they are the ones who contracted with Adviro). The "prime contractor" (if you will) was Code Blue 360, Springfield, Ohio. My insurance co. is Connect (formerly known as Ameriprise Home Insurance). Well, while 80 of the other subcontractors/ entities I had to deal with on this claim (water heater tank leaked/water damage/asbestos/etc.), Adviro and their hygienists (testing for asbestos & follow-up work) were professional, timely, they contacted me to inform me and confirm dates/times, and I was treated with RESPECT. They did not get defensive (a la restoration specialists) when I said I expected more notice, and they took time to explain things to me. Their workers did not come in & play loud music, leave garbage and performed POORLY (a la restoration specialists - no need to capitalize for a co. whose OWNER & its workers lie, don't communicate and/or FAIL to respond to inquiries).
