Chicken taco, Carne Asada taco, Taco Plate with beans and rice + one Grilled Shrimp taco and one Grilled Fish taco
Maggie A.

We loved this spot - after a loooong day of driving, this is exactly what we needed. Service was quick and we found the staff friendly. Parking lot isn't huge, but we were able to grab a spot and wait at the picnic tables and it was great. We ordered one chicken taco, one carne asada taco, and a taco plate with one shrimp and one fish, all on fresh flour tortillas. We honestly loved all of them - the shrimp and fish come with a chipotle aioli situation that was so good I asked for a side to add to the two meat tacos. I think the shrimp took the cake, but would recommend all 4! Beans and rice hit the spot and portions were perfect, they really packed them in. Only note is they don't open until 11:30, so get yourself a snack and hit this on the way back!

Fish Tacos

Stopped here about 2pm on the U-turn back from Hana. It's in a parking lot located with other food trucks so parking is limited and can get a bit crazy with hungry tourists. What we swallowed: *FISH TACOS: These were small but delicious. The sauce on them was very tasty. *CHICKEN BURRITO: This was very a good choice as well. The meat was well seasoned and so was the rice. The fish tacos and burritos were great. There are picnic tables in front where you can sit but it does get crowded.

Shrimp nachos

After hiking and touring around Hana I worked up an appetite! Walked around the food truck plaza and settled with shrimp nachos! Ordered them and my order was completed quite quickly. There were lots of flies at the stop; I'm not complaining it's nature and outdoors. I opted to eat in my car.

3 piece tacos with fish (mahi mahi)

Stopped by the food truck park on the way back to Hana. Had the 2 piece fish (mahi mahi) tacos. The tacos are small, but definitely worth it. The fish was perfectly seasoned and I loved the sauce on top. If headed back from Haleakala National Park, this is a great place to stop. Plenty of seating at picnic tables.

Pork quesadillas with sour cream

I got a pork quesadilla and it was pretty dang good. The workers were really nice and the environment is very lively.

these are hands-down some of the best fish tacos I've ever had and I've had them all over Southern California... Omar was delightful and friendly and the meal was topped off with a hibiscus tea that was really delicious I highly recommend this place I've been all over the world and when you find a place like this in a small town you keep coming back for dinner here every night

Set up at the food truck park.

The food was pretty decent, although I wished they'd put more fish on the fish taco. Also they are one of the few places that take credit cards.

This is the Quesadilla. Kinda like the one you make at home in 2 minutes. Hard pass!

Very mediocre Kalua pork tacos, much better options elsewhere. All the Aes trucks are just ok

Had the carne asada nachos and they were lit. Huge portion, chips were sturdy for all of the toppings and flavor was legit.

Be sure to watch for the sign as you approach - we drove by the first time and came back to make it into the parking lot. The person taking orders was helpful and warned us right away that they were out of curry. The person who makes it measures from her heart, won't share her recipe, and was out shopping. We shared the fried rice with chicken and some spring rolls. It was all so delicious, and fun to sit on the deck and watch the road and town while relaxing after the crazy road. My real praise starts a couple hours later. As we made it to our next stop, I remember that I had never taken my bag off the back of the chair back at the restaurant! I called as soon as we had a phone signal again, and the gentleman who answered the phone assured me right away that he'd seen it and was keeping it safe. I told him we'd be back for it the next day, and he told me what time he'd be there. Luckily for me, hubs drove back alone the next day (he loves the road, and it's more fun for him without me panicking from the passenger seat). The man at the restaurant said he'd tried to get our attention as we left, and again when we drove by after visiting the shore! I was so grateful to have my stuff back, and be able to board our plane the next day with my id. P.S. - the food and service was 5 stars even if they hadn't helped with my mix up later!

After checking the other food trucks, about 4 or 5, that share the lot with Da Fish Shack, I walked back to this one because I love fish and wanted to try the seared fish (ahi) plate on the menu, and also because of the friendly and warm aloha welcome I received when I approached this food truck the first time and asked questions about their menu which was answered unhurriedly and politely. The grilled ahi was very good - well seasoned, tender and a good portion, without the $$$$ price tag of restaurants in the town of Hana. I also enjoyed the homemade chili and pineapple sauce, and vegetable that came with my ahi. The owner also gave me a nice size sample of poke which was really fresh and delicious too! We ate at a covered picnic table which is clean and provided shade from the sun. I should mention it is an outdoor seating so keep your food covered to keep flies off your plate. A minor nuisance. Also, if you need a bathroom break, there are public restrooms in the beach located 15 minutes from this food trucks stop. Make this your stop after the Hana heavy drive and help support small local businesses! It is a good thing!

Once you reach this stop on your Road to Hana tour, make sure you get one ($10). The loaf is served warm, and man, it is good. You can't, or aren't supposed to, eat it there since there is a sign saying this place is grab-and-go only, so we ate it in the car on our way to the next stop. Between the two of us, it was basically more than half gone. It is not too sweet (in a good way), airy, light, and just really good homemade banana bread. The cashier was really nice and service was really fast. Since it is on the peninsula, the drive is also beautiful with waves crashing into the rocks.

I know every place and person will claim they have the best recipe out there, but this was actually so delicious! The texture was moist and fluffy, and the banana flavor was perfect without being too sweet. I had a whole loaf by myself traveling along the Road to Hana without even realizing it! And for it to be nut-free and sugar-free was really impressive to me. While here, I also grabbed a mango smoothie, which wasn't too special - though it wasn't mango season, so I don't blame them - and a couple of Island Dream Bars. If you're an Almond Joy fan, then I highly recommend the Island Dream Bar; it felt like a homemade, better version of an Almond Joy with macadamia nuts, coconut flakes, and chocolate baked into a cookie bar.

And it's pricey, also expected. We bought 2 to take home. Put it in the fridge in our hotel room then brought it home. It lasted about 1 week as long as it's in the fridge. Highly recommended for a quick stop on your way to Hana town. Tip: No public restroom here.
