Five years ago I was so impressed that when I came back, I had it on my must eat list!…read more I had intended to eat here much earlier during the trip, but the Kona storm had different plans. So it was again the meal right before going to the airport to go home and the gate was closed, but I saw people eating inside so I did what I would not do In DC, which is get out of the car and just ask if it was open. I wouldn't do that In DC because it's just a little scary here. And a nice people called out to Ola the chef and he opened the gate for us!! This time it felt extra special. It was like eating with a dear old friend and come to find out Ola was living in Columbia Heights just before the pandemic. (We are frequenters of Columbia heights!) We really felt spoiled and cared for here. He whipped up an amazing bed of salad for both of us. The greens here in Maui are just so fresh and the flavors are so good and of course we topped it with mahi mahi either grilled or taco style. He also gave us coconut water and a smoothie and fresh papaya which I told him I only eat on the island, which is true because it doesn't taste as good anywhere else that I know. What a way to end a trip with a flood and power outage in the middle of it. When troubles come later at home, which they will, I will think back fondly and give things for the experience we had here. And there was so much food that I was blessed to take the food on the airplane which served as my main meal (bc I can't eat any of the things that is on the plane sadly with my limitations. Delta loves to serve things with lots of cheese or dairy.) When it's not too windy, sitting outside under the tent is a lovely way to enjoy. I hope I can be back in less than five years to enjoy Ola's food at Ula Ula again. I don't know why they don't have more reviews but after we came in, was glad to see more people come in through. I really think so highly a food trucks in general in Maui, but this is definitely a top winner and a true gem!!

We swung by this place on a whim with zero expectations. Picked up an order of mochiko chicken and…read morea fresh papaya. The chicken was amazing, super crispy and tasty, loved the lilikoi dijon sauce but even without it the chicken was juicy and delish. Look forward to going back to try more dishes We brought the little papaya home and it was - according to mom, who is a discerning papaya-eater - wonderful. It was cool and shady at the outdoor picnic tables, and fun to see four big macaws getting out of one small sedan

From start to finish everything was perfect. The macadamia nut encrusted mahi-mahi, and the chef special fish were extraordinary. We had the papaya salad and chef's choice flatbread for appetizers and they were super yummy. The ambience was amazing, but what really made our meal special was our outstanding server Nash. She was so welcoming and went out of her way to make sure that everything absolutely perfect. She made great suggestions and even altered a few things on the menu to balance out the perfect meal. She really has been the best server here in Maui.. right down to putting candles on our dessert and happiness blow them out and make an anniversary wish...this will now be our favorite treat when where we're back on the island...aloha..

Easy parking, cute shops to check out treats and then headed to brunch. We were seated in the back overlooking the plantation. It was spectacular! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We started with pork belly bao that was good- the pickled veg was the best part. I got a side salad with the papaya dressing and the maui onion soup en croute at the waitresses recommendation, both were so good and the greens were grown right at the farm. My husband got the Caesar salad with chicken, he liked it. One son got the loco moco and said it was good. We were very happy with the location, the ambiance and the food.

I like the new location definitely easier for people to get to as the last location was upstairs with no elevator. One thing that has not changed is the food is still just as good if not even better than before. On this trip we had the Lunch Special which was the Waygu loco moco that came with white rice and Mac salad and two eggs over easy. The Wagyu burgers were perfect not over seasoned and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Still runny on the inside. I had the mis fish which was an ahi today. I liked the fact that the Miso was not overwhelming they got them mix perfect and the broccoli was perfectly cooked and it came with a scoop of white rice. Everything was perfectly done and just the right amount of food. The price is still reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting and the service was great even though there was only one waitress and she was doing double duty as hostess. She was very pleasant and the service is some of the best I have had on Maui. I like how the new place has a nice local feel while having that new but welcoming aura. I will definitely be going back because I like to support local and these guys are making some great food for reasonable prices. I definitely recommend these guys and I will definitely be going back. So much more menu items to try.
