    Fish Taco

The perfect stop for some fresh seafood. Our table had the fish taco (it was HUGE) and the butter and garlic shrimp over jasmine rice. It was amazing! Honestly the best rice I have ever had. I wish I had ordered more.

The only place to eat while on the Road to Hana! Brandon is a true chef that knows how to prepare true Hawaiian food. He's specials are yum yum yum good. My picky eater said it was the BEST burger she ever had. My husband loved the shrimp that was recommended, such a flavorful sauce.

    Menu

The fish and chips was delightful, the fish was ono, and the batter was light and tasty. Took less than 10 minutes made to order and the chef/cashier/server was a delight. 10/10 recommend. Outside setting at a roadside food truck on the road to Hana.

Either on the way or on the way back, this place has amazing fish tacos and coconut shrimp. Don't be fooled by the word Tacos.... It's one huge deep fried flour tortilla with an over abundance of fresh fish topped with a fresh mix of veggies and fries. The coconut shrimp will knock your socks off. Thank Sir for your hospitality.

Food was great! Had the pork tacos & wife had the fish tacos! The two owners were very nice and great / quick service! Fresh food and great location / atmosphere with outdoor seating Good price for the food and plenty of it! Would recommend

The fish n chips here were SO freaking good. We stopped at the market along the Road to Hana looking for some bbq, but that spot was closed, so we decided to try Island Chef instead. Eric was really nice. The fish was super fresh- perfectly crispy and not too greasy. The lemons came from his garden. Picnic style seating. Highly recommend this place.

What looks like a small restaurant in the side of the road is actually an island paradise! The fish and chips and coconut shrimp were excellent! The person was very nice and offered us more sauce and napkins. I would definitely recommend this place to people driving the road to Hāna. Definitely worth the stop! Another recommendation: take a picture next to the big cardboard shrimp (it's cute). All in all, the place itself and the service was amazing! We loved coming here and we hope to come again sometime!

We loved it ! The menu is limited to Fish and Chips and Coconut Shrimp but, both are fantastic! Really great place to stop on The Road to Hana. Eric the owner was super nice and had our order up and ready fast. Lots of picnic table seating under roof next to the food truck. Limited parking in the lot but most people come and go ... we will be back next time we head to Hana.

This was a great find on our road to Hana. It's in Nahiku marketplace which is just before the Hana. Shrimp Chowmein was so good. Huge portions and very fresh shrimps. We loved the taste. It had great wok flavors. Ordered coconut shrimp too after tasting fresh shrimps in chowmein, however it was over battered and didn't taste so good. It's was more of a coconut bread taste than any prawns in it. But still overall food is very good here. Lady at the counter who apparently was chef too was very sweet.

If you are ever traveling on the road to Hana in Maui, this is simply the best place to stop for a quick authentic fresh catch of the day island dish. Chef Eric will cook an amazing tasty dish each time. In our case we order the classic fish and chips and also coconut shrimp both with fries. The batter on both the shrimp and fish had a nice perfect crunch on the outside and fluffy inside which was the perfect combination with the fresh well seasoned fish and shrimp, nothing overcooked/fried or greasy...just perfect. The service was amazing and part of the experience, chef Eric will confirm catch of the day and cook it just the way you want it. Nice clean place with shade on hot days and if you are lucky you might see the ocasional house cat roaming for snacks and a friendly tourist cuttle. Would definitely go back and definitely recommend...cash only

Coconut shrimp.. really good, but overpriced $20 for 5
    Lucille L.

Overpriced, but really good coconut shrimp... you can taste the fresh coconut! $20 for 5 shrimps and some fries.. you can decide if it's worth it. Probably the best coconut shrimp though, so maybe it is..

The famous mobile truck! You might even see a loving cat nearby

She brought great energy and was professional, friendly, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. My wife ordered the baked oysters without realizing they weren't smoked and did not like the dish (I loved it). Casey graciously removed them from our bill, which we truly appreciated. Even without that kind gesture, her service was exceptional. I ordered the black bean seafood combo, and my wife had the red Thai seafood curry. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and delicious. The Absolute Best Meal on the Island--A Masterclass in Food & Service!…read moreIf I could give Seafood Bar & Grill 10 stars, I would. This wasn't just a dinner; it was our absolute favorite meal of the entire trip. We didn't even have a special occasion to celebrate--we just had a phenomenal experience here in the past and couldn't wait to return. They somehow managed to exceed every expectation. From the second we walked in, we were blown away. We loved the Tiki Bar, everyone is family when you walk in, history covering the walls ambiafamily-friendly; ev Seafood We were greeted by Dave Yurtin, the owner, who set up a fabulous table for us inside. But here is the kicker: Dave actually remembered us from our first visit two years ago! Talk about a total legend. We couldn't believe his memory--that is next-level hospitality. Our server, Ryan, provided spectacular, world-class service. He didn't write a single part of our big order down and got absolutely everything 100% right. He was attentive, fast, and incredibly sharp--he even remembered at the end that my mother-in-law had asked for onion rings once she was finished, before changing her mind. Incredible! Now, let's talk about the food and drinks because WOW. We started with the drinks, and these were hands-down the absolute best Mai Tais we have had on the island. Every single dish that hit the table was a home run: - Escargot: Wow, wow, wow, wow! Absolutely phenomenal. The pesto and cheese with the garlic bread? Unreal. - Seafood Quesadilla & Coconut Shrimp: Perfectly executed and delicious. - Braised Short Ribs: Out of this world. Fall-off-the-bone tender. - Pineapple Macnut Slaw: Insane flavor. Do not skip this! - Garlic Bread: Spectacular and perfect for soaking up every last bit of flavor. - Fish Linguine: A rich, perfectly balanced cream sauce packed with different types of fresh fish. Somehow, we saved room for dessert and tried FOUR different ones: the Key Lime Pie was unbelievable, the Lilikoi Pie and Kona Coffee Pie were spectacular, and the NY Cheesecake with Lilikoi Sauce was the perfect grand finale. Between Dave's legendary memory, Ryan's flawless service, and a kitchen that doesn't miss, Seafood Bar & Grill is an absolute must-visit. We will be talking about this meal until our next visit! Thank you for an unforgettable night!

Merriman's Kapalua is perched on an oceanfront peninsula directly on Kapalua Bay Point. You have unobstructed views of snorkelers and whales breaching during whale season. There is indoor and outdoor seating for dining. The service is excellent. Our server was very attentive, friendly and very helpful. The Food is Off the highest quality. American Waygu burger sliders - 5/5 The Waygu burger patties were very delicious. They were cooked perfectly medium so the sliders were tender and juicy! The brioche bun were perfect fit for these sliders. The Molokai'i sweet potatoes fries were excellent too. Hawaiian Ahi Poke - 5/5 Another excellent selection. Hawaiian Ahi that was bought from the auction fish docks the same morning, cut into cubes along with green onions, sweet Maui onions, ginger, jalapeños then mixed with ginger-sesame soy, and prepared at your table. Put the poke on the sweet potato fries and you have a delicious appetizer you won't forget! Mac Nut- Crusted Fresh Catch - 5/5 Freshly caught Hawaiian Ono steamed to perfection, with Hamakua mushroom reduction sauce. The chili- garlic broccoli was cooked perfectly tender. Along with the scallion rice, this selection was outstanding. Diver Scallops & Clam Curry - 5/5 The scallops were very succulent and tender. The green coconut curry boosted the flavor, and the clams were easy to pull out of their shells. The shrimp shu-mais were tender and delicious. The idea was to have a special dinner with an iconic sunset view with my wife for her birthday. What I got was rushed into a table that barely had room for 2 serving spaces and LITERALLY obstructed view of the entire ocean. Merriman's should be ashamed to even have a table in this space. We were not "inside" but 2 sides of the table abutted a support column that 100% obstructed any kind of plausible view of the ocean. We arrived on time, for a table reserved 60 day in advance but the seating we were given would have been barely acceptable for a walk in, take anything available option. The entire experience was absolutely anything but special, $330 and I have to sit in an awkward side angled position, not even across from my wife, with a view of 2 walls that I could have gotten in a strip mall fast casual restaurant? It's clear they don't care, and it is just another table to turn 3-4 times a day and rake in the $$. I absolutely advise anyone to steer clear, this is like ordering an amazing sunset birthday dinner and getting the TEMU version. The food was good, but server was not attentive and seemed overly busy and had zero interest in guiding our choices, instead was "here's the menu, let me know what you want". Total and utter disappointment from the minute we walked in until we left. In the moment they were extremely busy so it's not like there were other table options. On a special occasion I do expect I need to ask to not stare at a wall, for a place heralded for sunset views. Merriman's should be ashamed for even having a seat so awful and awkward. Do not risk your special occasion on a place that is overcrowded, overpriced and completely underwhelming in every single aspect!
