I learned about this place through groupon last year and bought 3 classes for me and my mom and I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but it looked so different from anything I've ever done before. I really enjoyed it the first 3 times. The instructors were really friendly and helpful. Getting to the location was a bit difficult at first because they were under renovations and classes were moving around the building, but now they have a select room for their classes. On Labor Day, free classes were offered and I signed myself up with 5 other people. It was a full class and there were 2 instructors, Lauren and Nicole. We all had a nice workout and everyone really enjoyed using silk as part of the yoga exercise. I love that the silk aided in stretching out our muscles and working on our core. It was really fun and I felt great when it all ended. I'm really thinking about getting the unlimited membership. I always enjoy my time here and also feel so rejuvenated when I leave.

Aerial Yoga Houston is a super fun way to de-stress, gain flexibility, build core strength & all while having a great time! The silks are so inviting & they support your body in every posture. Shavasana (corpse pose) feels incredible as you float weightlessly mid-air. I booked a private bachelorette party for a girlfriend with the studio owner Nicole and we had a fantastic afternoon doing tricks. All of the women loved it.

I tried their unlimited week special. I loved the venue. Very urban chic. The studio itself is small. But lots of sunlight comes in and the teachers are all friendly. The class says it's hour and 10 mins but from what I experienced it never started on time. It did end on time so it varies on how much instruction you really do get that day. I tried sweet surrender class, a aerial basics , and fit to fly. All very different classes and all very fun. The instructors are impressive in their strength and grace. Definitely an inspiring experience. If you like yoga and stretches I would suggest trying this place out.

After class we got to play around in the silks! Check this guy out

I called to see if there were spots available for a Saturday class. The woman on the phone was very nice and took my name along with my friends names (I did notice that she was eating while speaking with me, crunching in my ear- I didn't think that was professional at all) but in any case she put us down for the Saturday class at noon. We arrived early (15 mins before the start of class) since we had never done the class, the sign in process took abt 7 mins each... The new instructor was confused at the sign in process. One instructor started explaining the silks to students. I felt we were missing out on information since it was our first time and it was shrugged off like its cool no worries... Although they offer drop in classes I would advise registering online beforehand to skip all of this so it doesn't cut into the class time! Let's just say the beginners classes aren't really for beginners, they are somewhat difficult. The instructors are helpful with assisting you to get into positions in the silks. One of the instructors assisted my friend into a position by straddling and actually sitting her crotch on her back; it left my friend with a wet back!!! GROSSSSSS! There is a new instructor (tall blonde) she is extremely wordy, and aggressive w/assisting you to get into position. A few times during the class her wordiness confused us w/ explaining positions but thankfully there was a second instructor who has been doing this for a while she was really good and gave us the shorter version by saying "all you have to do is 1.2.and 3" and I was like oh that makes sense! I believe her name is sheeba, I would like to take a class from her in the future. When you RELAX, TRUST yourself and the silks to let gravity do its thing it's an amazing and refreshing aha moment. I would definitely take another class but I will register online ahead of time to avoid the hassle. Namaste!!

    Not bad for a newbie!

This was my first time doing yoga in general and I love it. For the price and the amazing instructor Michelle... I'm hooked. It was a comfortable atmosphere and Michelle did a great job of making sure this newbie didn't give up, because it was honestly hard but I loved the challenge. I'll be back tomorrow! I got 7 days for $20! Can't beat it! Once I got comfortable and began to trust that the silk would hold me, it became some much more fun!

We wanted to continue this once we returned to Houston, but we didn't want to find a studio with 30+ students and the Pilates classes at our current gym didn't give us any feedback on whether we were doing the positions/moves correctly. We turned to yelp for help :) We were looking for the following in a studio to supplement our gym membership: 1) small classes 2) personal attention 3) encouraging and attentive teachers This studio has all 3 of these things, but it's not limited to Pilates! They have yoga and cycling classes that meet the above three requirements too! We've only been members since October, but we look forward to our weekly classes. What's really nice is the class feels tailored to us. My husband and I have different bodies (height, strength, flexibility, etc), and the teachers really adapt to us! They'll change certain routines to ensure each student is getting the most of the session. It's a great personalized experience, and your body will thank you. I've already noticed better posture and just awareness of how I hold myself when doing everyday things at home or at work. What a neat find - thank you, yelpers!
