We had budgeted around $200 for the job and figured we were being responsible by getting things checked first. After waiting nearly an hour and 45 minutes, we were told not only did the brakes supposedly need to be replaced, but the rotors also needed replacing. Total quote? Over $400. Obviously, we didn't have that kind of money at the time, so we left stressed out, thinking we'd just have to take the trip and pray the car made it safely. While in LA, we happened to run into a friend who's a mechanic. We told him what Tom's had quoted us, and he kindly offered to take a look if we bought the parts. So we did. He lifted the car, inspected everything, and immediately told us the brakes were still about 90% good and the rotors were perfectly fine. They only needed cleaning. So now I'm left asking: how does a shop go from "everything urgently needs replacing" to "there's barely anything wrong" ? That's not a small difference. That's an extreme opposite diagnosis. At best, it was gross incompetence. At worst, it feels intentionally dishonest. Either way, it completely destroyed my trust in this place.

Cesar and Sammy will take good care of you. They have a 11 point inspection which is really helpful for me with my vehicle making sure I have everything in tiptop shape and in order. Their location is very clean and they are encouraging for what really needs to be repaired as well as maintained. Econo Lube where do I start ... well I went in to get my back brakes done on my Benz . I know this…read moreplace is known for oil changes not really brakes but hey I was in a RUSH because of the squeaking that was coming from my brakes it drove me crazy ! Now I paid 650$ for the brake job and oil change charged separately ... the oil change no complaints ! But back to the BRAKES .. after they were "done" I drove it around at home and out of no where the back brakes they just did started shaking, rattling and I couldn't drive it . Furthermore, Alex had to come to my house to fix whatever Econo Lube had done. With that, Alex I believe he is the manager is very nice, (I thought honest), and friendly not too mention professional. That is why I gave two stars instead of one . Long story short when my car went back into the shop the next day because I realized the horrible noise that evening they did it so it was too late. I've never cried so hard I had just gotten my Benz and thought they intentionally damaged my car. Alex assured me it just sounds bad and it was a mistake they made but didn't know because he hadn't heard anything on the test drive after the new brakes were installed . When he came to my house when I started my car and proceeded to drive nothing I TV loud banging very very loud and bad especially when my car was new and driving like a charm minus some loud squeaking but nothing compared to what they did the sound sounded like my car was literally falling apart just devasting anyways they fixed it so it was drivable but I still continued to hear the LOUD squeaking. A year later squeaking brakes every day and I commute it's been rough sooooo a year later I have enough to get back brakes again and what do you know the mechanic flat out told me they didn't do anything ... a year later no squeaking and I paid 300$. Overall. I say I don't know what exactly happened but I do know Econo lube made my car worse then the same for 650$. I started to call amd talk to Alex the nice guy but at this point I just want to warn you do not let them go near your brakes !!! You may not be as Lucky as me .... I had another auto shop do an inspection and they found that what Econo Lube claimed was not accurate. I paid just under $700 for the work and the A/C works great. I don't recommend this place for anything. Avoid it.
