I engaged Affordable Tree Experts to remove a tree, trim 8 California Live Oaks, and shape several large bushes. The work was well organized and impeccable. We walked the property with Christian, who wrote up our order. The workers knew what to do and did it well. They are highly skilled tree trimmers and I felt confident with them working on our Oaks. The crew arrived for work on time, was self sufficient, kept busy, did a great job and a thorough cleanup. Very professional. Another stellar service from Cristian and his crew from Affordable Tree Experts. It has been 5 years since my last tree cutting service from them. The team arrived at 8 am both days. Cleaned the area after each work day. They made sure no debris were left behind. Specially around my next door neighbor's property. Tip: 1. Be sure to always ask a copy of their insurance coverage. 2. Ask them to reschedule if wind forecast is over 9 mph. If you have tall trees like mine, if would be very dangerous for everyone to have windy weather. I was lucky to have both days at below 4 mph. read more

The manager is very rude and his argument is "We aren't supposed to clean". There are much better services out there. Affordable Tree Experts, Inc was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had! Christian showed up for the four estimates I asked for, but that is where the service ended. Part 1. Clean my hillside full of new growth and pine needles. They were to come one week later on a Friday. He calls the day before to say I have no people, and tries to push it to the following week, and Friday was kind of my deadline. In desperation, I said could you come tomorrow on Saturday knowing there would not be much noise and mostly raking. He says, "Great that works, that's what I wanted in the first place". The following morning 2 people start buzzing my hillside for about 45 minutes and it seemed that they were finished with the job. They were going to leave all the cuttings and all the pine needles and NOT rake or take a thing. WHAT? My mind was blown! I came outside to talk to them and Christian had magically showed up, but not to say hi to me or check in with my satisfaction, but rather to finger me right in my face. He said I have another big job across the street and moving the guys over there. I said, aren't you going to finish my hillside. He said it looks great! I shockingly said, I need this stuff cleared up. He reluctantly said OK then asked me to give the $550 check to his guy when finished, and then proceeded to take one of the 2 guys away from my job. He left the other one all alone and he did not do more than create 4 bundles (see photo of driveway), which they left in my driveway for almost a week. I kept looking outside wondering when work is going to start. So for $550, I had 2 guys buzzing for 45 minutes, and one guy working like a snail for 2 hours, and anything he did rake up was only because I had to bitch and insist. Later I went to finish the job myself for fear of fire department, and in 10 minutes, I created 7 more bundles of what they left behind (see photo of hillside). It was a joke and everyone in the neighborhood thought so. Part 2. Remove a large pine tree, $1500. This was to be the following Thursday after the Saturday brush-clearing joke, and I am only moving forward with these guys because they left so much unfinished work. I call the day before to ask what time they are coming the next day. Christian said firmly, 8am. There I am on the hillside waiting and cleaning up some more and they do not show up. I call and he says, "I tried calling you last night but your voicemail was full. I have some big hillsides to do and I have no guys so can we do next week?" I became very upset and said at least come today and finish the hillside that I already paid you for, and clear up my driveway which you have left obstructed for a week. He finally said he would come the following day at 8 am as if he was doing me a favor. The next morning they finally came to pick up their 4 bags of pine needles, and it was my hope that they would at least pick up the other 5 that I painfully gathered for them from what they left on the hillside, but no, they left that there for me (see photo). By the way, no apologies from Christian and no effort to make me a happy customer. As you might guess I did not use them for the pine tree removal or the other 2 jobs I got estimates for, and none of my neighbors that also hired them recently thought they cleaned my hillside properly or treated me right. I am confused about the whole thing. Here I am, very nice and accommodating, ready to give this guy 10k worth of business and more future business, and he throws it all away. In addition, as one of the leaders of our neighborhood watch, no one in our neighborhood will ever hire them again because of my terrible experience, and I can guarantee that. Furthermore, the honest review I wrote can only hurt them, but will hopefully save other homeowners from working with this very unprofessional company. Christian is dishonest, opportunistic, and will shuffle you around, and finger you to your face if it suits him. The worst service I have ever received. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! They have different addresses on Yelp and their Invoice, so look out for Contractor Lic# 978550. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and anyone else that I can. We just moved to a new house and needed a massive amount of yard clearing done, and after getting a number of outrageous quotes we went with Affordable Tree Experts, Inc. who had left a flyer on our door step. I would like to highly recommend them to anyone who needs any hill clearing, trees trimmed or removed or anything similar. They were here every morning at 7:30, worked a full day, cleaned up, were extremely professional and best of all insanely inexpensive for the amount of work we had done. Our job took about 4.5 days and was extensive including: The removal of five, 60 to 100 foot pine trees, a 40 foot cedar tree, trimming a tall ask, trimming a huge cedar in our front yard, clearing half of our front hill, brush clearing most of our hillside, stump grinding, removing two large fallen trees on our hillside and a dozen other small little tree trims/cuts and clearing they did for us. For all of this they only charged $3800 (they also take credit cards). To put the cost in perspective for those of you who haven't started researching costs yet, my neighbor got one large tree trimmed from a reputable and quality company and that alone cost $2200. My next lowest quote to what Affordable charged (which only included about 2/3rd's of the scope of work) was $9K. Affordable is bonded, insured, a certified arborist and I can't rave about them enough. The company owner who was on the job site every day almost the entire time is Christian and he can be reached directly on their company line. read more

Christian was great to work with. He came out on time for our scheduled appointment and gave me a fair estimate for brush clearance and trimming of several palms (including one of those super tall skinny palms that sway in the breeze.) He offered to come back in just a few days to complete the job, but I scheduled it for the following week. On the day of the actual job he and his crew showed up early, got to work right away, finished early, removed all of their trimmings, and did a great job! I couldn't believe how his crew member climbed that skinny palm at least four stories into the sky without breaking a sweat! He and his guys were fantastic.
