Food also takes a while so best to order before coming into the restaurant so you don't have to wait the usual 30 minutes. This place was once a gem but seems like over the years stopped making an effort into making good food like it used to. Ordered take out for pick up yesterday as I was in the area. Let's start first with the uncomfortable and rude customer service over the phone. I gave a call around 2:30 PM and began telling them my order. In the middle I was rudely cut off by an older man who stated, "will this be a large order?" I'm sorry but why does that matter? Especially when you haven't even let me finish my sentence.. if you had, you would've known that it was just 2 orders for my fiancé and I. When I had finished my order, I felt even more shade for "only" ordering 2 items. After the phone call I had just felt confused and weary about why I had struggled so much to do a simple call in for ordering pick up. Now, let's talk about the FALSE ADVERTISING in their menu. We ordered a 7 ounce NY strip steak with fries and grilled veggies and the grilled shrimp on top. The 2nd order was a filet of sole on top of a "bed of garlic spinach" and a creamy sauce. Sounds good, right? What we received was a piece of fried fish and ONE PIECE OF SPINACH! One piece of uncooked spinach in the container- my fiancé and I were shocked. And then the 7 oz steak was missing the grilled shrimp even though we paid extra for it. I had asked for medium well and they gave me a burnt steak. We both asked for "grilled veggies" on the side and instead we received cold, slimy vegetable that obviously came from a can. Not grilled or seasoned with any flavor whatsoever. We were so disappointed and because we live further in Queens, couldn't even do anything about it. I would avoid this place as there are MUCH better steakhouses that are halal in the area nowadays... their attempts at food and customer service is laughable. Sam's steakhouse in valley stream is much better by far. Unless you like being scammed by false advertising (affy's you should probably fix that before you run into serious trouble), I would avoid this place. read more

Hopefully you got lucky with the sidewalk parking as I did (right in front of the place) but I think there would be abundant of parking around the area. My wife ordered the Classic New York Strip Steak (10oz) with ceasar salads and fries and I ordered Filet Mignon Au Poivre with a side of fries and mashed potatoes. The foods are really good and the portion were good enough to fill both of us throughout the days. I think we came during a slow day because there're so many servers sitting around at the back. First time at Affys and rolled through with a group of 15 muzzies. Zabiha ribs were aiiiiight but nothing crazy (hit up Zaks in Lombard, IL). Only complaint would be we pre-ordered and once we arrived they took an additional 40 mins to bring the food out on top of that the ribs came out a little cold. Smh bruh. I'm super excited about this place ! It's not easy to find eat-in halal restaurants with a nice seating arrangement, and good quality food. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. It's also the first halal steak place I know of in Brooklyn ! So far I enjoyed everything I tried here with the exception of the fish, which has kind of a thick and flavorless batter. We got the filet mignon steak - after waiting 1.5 hours at our seats. The steak was phenomenal. Usually halal steak means you are getting some thin piece of left over butcher trimmings. Not here. This was perfect. We asked for medium, we got medium. Due to the poor service, we were given free tiramisu. The owner explained that they are new and that they are still working out kinks. Great place to eat after a day at Luna Park and Coney Island. Sam was our waitress and she took really good care of us. Extremely detailed and attentive to our needs. The menu had three things I wanted to try right off the bat, but I settled on a classic 10oz steak. It had the perfect sear on the meat and the meat was done just to my liking(medium). My companion ordered the Hawaiian BBQ short ribs and thought it was flavorful and well priced. The portion sizes were plentiful. ***I've been back to Affys two more times after I started this review. I was very pleased both times. The service can be slow when it is busy, so don't come here if you are in a rush. Good food can take awhile. I seen many mixed reviews about this place as far as food and service. I recently came to this establishment and overall I can rate a 4. Husband ordered the onion burger which he liked and I order the half rack ribs which were like dinosaurs bone but really good. The only thing I would note is their sides can be better. The mash potatoes doesn't taste fresh more liked boxed. Also I would expect my husband fries to be fresh cut fries but they were prob frozen. If they can make improvements on their sides this place would be a 5! Waited an extra hour to be seated, and clearly showed them on my call log that I had called 2 hours prior and made my reservation. Owner admitted it was the fault of his stag but did nothing to rectify the mistake. Overall slow service. Everything was slow the waitresses all looked confused and the owner hides away in the corner of the restaurant and I suppose is unaware that all his employees are working at snail pace. I've been to this place numerous amount of times coming from NJ and trying out there Ribeye steak multiple times I highly recommend that if you love steak. However today was an even better day here as it was my wifes birthday and not only was the food on point with service but they also gave the brownie icecream Sunday on the house. Food was blah...had the "garlic toast" - actually was frozen Texas toast from the supermarket - the staff bought groceries and delivered through the dining hall with all the frozen and ready made items. So I paid 8.00 for 3 slices of toast to be heated up and sprinkle extra cheese on top. The complimentary chips were stale and the salsa was straight from a can in the fridge. There is nothing special about this food or the dirty plastic flower atmosphere. Owners are just taking advantage that halal eaters want broader menu options and they are the only place in town. The order was placed on the table without utensils until My husband got up and picked up the utensils from the back bar. I knew if we had to to wait for a waiter We might be waiting for a while.bwhen we asked for more napkins, the waitress rudely said "I got it." We ordered a 7 oz Affy NY strip steak well done, but we were delivered a 14 oz medium well. The steak was dry, but flavorful. The spicy peppercorn sauce did compliment the steak nicely. Chicken steak with mango and shrimp - sauce tasted good but chicken was dry and flavorless on inside. We ordered Pina colada and a premium cream soda, which were never delivered. Waiters were yelling at each other across the room for orders and cleaning. There was definitely a shortage of staff on a Saturday night. After worse 1st experience, I decided to visit affy's premium grill for the 2nd time. Poor service from the server. The table we were given, didn't have utensils. Soup was served chipped bowl! While waiting over an hr get served, happen to notice the server food to other table in a good cart, the cart they use to clear tables. In fact they put the food on the bottom of the cart they served customers! They need to train the server properly. We had ordered jalapeño poppers. Not good at all. One recommendation for you all is if you're not into sauces, gravies or extras (ie., onions, mushrooms) make sure you let them know to put it on the side or not at all. Went there with my boyfriend the first time and then the following week went there for my brother's birthday. Pros: It is hard to find a legitimate halal steakhouse where they know how to cook the meat properly. The price is really good especially for the quantity of food we good. They also serve a free appetizer of salsa and tortilla chips while waiting for your food. Definitely recommend trying the Putin fries, top sirloin, mango jalapeño chicken and shrimp (though the sauce had too much mango), and fish and chips. Cons: The amount of time you have to wait for food is ridiculous. The first time I went with my boyfriend we went they have just opened and we were the first customers (and only customers for a good 45 min) so I don't understand why our food came almost an hour later. When we went for my brother's birthday same thing except we went in the evening. The ribs were a disappointment. Felt like it wasn't marinated, just cooked with some sauce on top (still had a meaty smell and taste to it). I will give a shoutout to Josephine (our waiter) extremely funny and a great personality.
