I happen to work for a company that treats us very well. This past week for employment appreciation, they rented a cute ice cream cart from this local shop. They had it packed with a variety of flavors. Mango with Chamoy, watermelon, bubble gum flavor, pineapple, cookies, and cream, strawberry, walnuts & cream, etc. During this heat it was very refreshing. I happen to be the employee in the office handing them out for an entire shift and it was by far the easiest shift I had this year. The process to order was so easy. The gentleman over the phone was very helpful. He went over all the flavors available. I was looking for their labubu cake I think they're so cute. I end up going with a cute turquoise, Labubu with Oreo cookie ice cream filling, and white cake. I sent a courier to pick up the cake. She said the process was really easy. Upon receiving it, it was visually adorable! Super cute my daughter loved it. I had to go with their premade cake because I was short on time. He did inform me that if I would've called in about five days earlier, I could've picked the ice cream, cake flavor ,filling, and color. But since it was last minute I selected one that was already made. When it comes to taste. I feel as if it was frozen and thawed out. It had a freezer burnt flavor if you know what I mean. Our family stopped here before driving back to Vegas. When we walked in we noticed how many options of ice cream and overalll Mexican treats they have. We especially wanted to thank the kid that helped us because we were trying everything!! Everything was so good and fresh we ended up ordering ice creams and an agua fresca. The cake batter itself tasted like if it was around other foods. We went to let them know and brought the cake to the people that work there. They told us to return so I went back the next day to speak to the manager Cynthia, we were gaslighted that all their cakes are so good and they always have returning customers. I let her know that just because something is popular doesn't mean that it makes it good. They brought up about their return policy and I told them if they are so good and they are so confident about their cakes then they would not have that policy. According to Cynthia the owner asked her what she thought and of course the cake taste fine to her. She did not want the owner to call so I could speak to them directly. Nasty cake. Now, I came and made the drive for the viral ice-cream cake that I actually ordered through the phone to reserve it since they tend to sell out fast. I ordered a cookies and cream/oreo cake. The cake came with chocolate cake besides the oreo ice-cream. The bread seemed dry and was not as I anticipated it to be! Over hyped -- I think yes! It was also very overpriced in my opinion. It was about $55 for a small; 10 inch cake. Regardless to say, it was good, but not the best. Would I make the drive to long beach for another cake? Perhaps not. Living in San Jose you'd think we have one of these so when in LA area, I make it a point to visit a Mexican heladeria. Of course it isn't the same as one in Mexico but it is darn close. This place doesn't have parking and that is my only complaint. Right now you can't sit inside so because it is a quick in/out, you park in the drive way. The amount of delicious options drove me crazy because I am so indecisive! They make their own ice cream here so after much deliberation, I chose the Mango & Chamoy sorbet which was one of the best mango sorbets I've ever had. It was rich, creamy and light and the mango flavor was just like biting a super ripe mango. My husband chose their Jamaica paleta which is Hibiscus. He loved how potent the color and flavor was. They had so many unique and traditional flavors like Starbucks coffee, Cookie Monster, Fruity Pebbles and Mexican Hot Chocolate. I went with a vanilla paleta and it was really good, it's the right amount of frozen and it's way better than if you were to get it at a grocery store. On February 1st I went to order a cake for my mother in law and I showed Cynthia (girl that took my order and "cake decorator") a picture of a cake that was made for my niece at the Hemet Michiocana. She promptly said that she could make the same exact design. I asked for red and white roses to cover the sides and part of the top of the cake. When I picked up on February 2nd, the color on the supposed red roses looked orange and the roses were not properly shaped. The very nice girl that helped me was very apologetic and quick to attempt to resolve my issue. She called Cynthia on the phone and asked what could be done. Her solution was to give me my money back or for me to take the cake as is. I had no other option than to take the cake because my mother in law was heading back home to Texas in the morning the next day. I don't recommend anyone to order ice cream cakes from here. We arrived around 2pm and ordered but this poor girl had a line out the door and was working so quickly to take care of all the customers. 5 stars to her customer service. 3 stars to the management that left her to fend for herself. My group hopes they are paying her enough and if not then they should heavily consider giving her a good raise. I would like to note they did have a help wanted sign outside the door and are clearly looking for more employment but that also signals to us that they most likely aren't paying well enough. First time here we drive far from Irvine and regret it, we asked for the price of the scoops he replies 6.50 ea and pointed at a sign that matched the prices he said, some of the flavor signs on the paletas and ice creams were very faded and some completely missing so we had to ask the server what flavors were which, my mom asked for a pine nut paleta if they had some available because she couldn't see it which he replied "yes we do I'll give it to you at the counter" we paid and when we checked our receipt we realized we got charged 7.50 per ice cream instead of 6.50 advertised and my moms paleta was the wrong flavor. My mom went back to the counter to ask if she could get the correct paleta due to it being their mistake and the guy who served us said he was the manager and he could not give us another one even though it was his error , my mom then mentioned the price of the ice cream being charged more and we not only went with the advertised price but the price he verbally verified when we asked and he replied "if I said the wrong price I am sorry I am not used to the prices yet but we have a small paper on the front door" (however the prices on the wall were the price he verbally verified with us. Ridiculous!!! Tell me who goes to a place and reads every little piece of paper on the front door only nowhere inside we're the prices updated - ridiculous. They were not professional, nobody had name tags and we felt unwelcome even after paying over $50 so not freeloading here . Won't be coming back there are many other places that care about customer service that also sell desserts, honeymee , paleteria la mexicana etc .
