I was downtown Seal Beach with one of my kids yesterday, and we both decided to get some ice cream. I saw the prices and I thought it was about a dollar or so more than normal but it didn't matter, we wanted ice cream. My kid ordered the kids small cup and when they gave it to her, I thought they mistakenly gave her an adult large. Then when I ordered my small waffle cone the amount of ice cream they gave me blew my mind. It was absolutely enormous. Check my picture out, this was after eating it for 10 minutes. Look how much is still there! When we got our ice cream, the other people in line looked over at us and asked me is that an adult portion when they saw my daughter's kids small ice cream. To my reply: "No, that's a child's small!" I was even afraid to ask what the large cone looks like and I made a joke that I'd have to duck under the doorway to get my ice cream out of the shop. I then joked and looked up on the ceiling to see if there's any ice cream scrapings from the previous person's that ordered a large cone because it was so high. I highly recommend the place, it's worth the money, you won't be let down. The quality is excellent and they have many flavors. read more

I got a kids scoop which was $6 (bruh) of the cold brew brownie flavor. the cold brew part was good but the brownies tasted weird, like pieces of soggy wheat bread. It was my first time trying Bruster's ice cream and I really enjoyed it! I ordered a small size with one scoop of banana cream pie and one scoop of black raspberry chocolate chunk. Both flavors were so tasty and creamy, and it was so nice being able to sample both before buying! The employee that worked there was super friendly and helpful when we were trying to decide on flavors too. I was also shocked at how large the portion was for a small size! This was amazing! I was craving ice cream and saw people walking around with Brusters and knew I had to try it. The prices are a little steep, but it's by the beach so that's expected (it's also about the same as every other ice cream location in the area). The difference is that the flavors are freshly made every day, and they are all delicious. The serving size is also huge, the cone I got was the regular sized waffle cone with one scoop, and it was tough to finish alone. A great location on the main drag of Seal Beach, this Bruster's has a fun variety of flavors to choose from. It's a walk-up ordering window with a tiny counter and a couple stools to the side. If you're lucky you might snag one of several benches on the block to sit and eat your ice cream if you don't feel like walking while eating. Or just walk down to the beach and sit in the sand. The young fellow scooping was very polite and friendly with the patience of a saint (as demonstrated by the craziness of the family full of hyper, indecisive kids in front of me). They have many unique flavors with odd names so don't be shy about asking what some flavors consist of. I ordered a cup with three scoops, each a different flavor: Death By Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, and Graham Central Station. I sat on a bench and enjoyed each creamy flavor, stacked on top of one another. Chocolate chip had huge chips, more like chunks than chips, within the vanilla ice cream. Death by Chocolate had a strong dark chocolate flavor with the same chips and also pieces of chocolate brownie. My favorite was Graham Central Station which really tasted like graham cracker with chunks of sweet graham cracker and yes, those same chocolate chip/chunks. It has such a classic old time, no frills feel offering a couple high stools at a bar & walk up windows where you order the ice cream. I am not a big ice cream fan...but the pistachio ice cream here WAS fantastic. It was chock full of pistachios. I hadn't been there in a couple of years so jumped at the opportunity when we walked by. The top of the cup (small scoop?) had a pretty generous amount of pistachios. the man who worked on saturday the 17th of January night made eye contact with us and scooped his own ice cream and then left, how rude!!

I need to tell you about the one-man army named Ian. I was there with the family on Saturday and there was an epic line out the door. There was high demand but the line was slow. Once we were able to look in we realized that there was only guy working on beautiful, sunny, warm Orange County Saturday! By the time we made it to the front we had nothing but empathy and respect for that worker because he was literally doing EVERYTHING on his own. Every other time I had been there it was 2-3 people but this guys was taking payment, giving samples, scooping, delivering, and all while giving customer service. Seriously, Ian killed it and all I can say, get more people on staff because it was rough on the line of people waiting for ice cream lol. Again, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny, SoCal day--people are going to want ice cream. If the weather app says it's going to be warm, staff more than one person. But if you have to pick one person in a pinch, Ian is your man. Just make sure you pay him double because he saved the reputation of the brand that day! Thanks again, Ian. The last time we were there we encountered horrible customer service so I contacted Corporate. They were going to pass my concern on to the owner. Either that never happened or the owner doesn't care. There's a guy there who has no idea how to treat customers. Same guy was there yesterday evening. The first time when I asked if I was suppose to show him something to get my points he responded with, "too late you had to do that before I rung you up". WHAT! If that's the case why didn't he ask if I was a member? Yesterday as I stared at a poster advertising the apple flavor when I asked for it he reached pass the window glass and pointed to the board and advised us that those were the flavors. Why would they advertise it if they don't have it and let's say they were out, I think he meant to say, "sorry unfortunately we're out of that flavor." I had a birthday coupon for $3 off and I showed it to him but I have no idea if he credited points to my account. I love Brewster's it's my favorite ice cream but I wish the owner would train that guy on how to deliver excellent customer service. Too, I feel like I've missed out on several points because of that employee. During the Summer there were much better employees when the kids were there working.
