Greeted by friendly staff as soon as we walked in. Explained the menu to us and made some suggestion. We decided to share the three meat plate of moist brisket, St. Louis ribs and pepper Jack sausage. The brisket was moist with good bark and great flavor. The sausage was had just the right kick and the ribs we great without sauce. For sides, we had the hatch Mac n cheese. Very good. But the other side, the green beans, where do I start. They are probably some of the best green beans I've ever had. Garlicky, with a hint of sweetness and topped off with sliced almonds. Dude, I need this recipe!! Absolutely one of my new favorite BBQ spots in the area! I would comfortably rank them in my top 10 BBQ spots I've ever been to. The brisket was incredible..full of flavor, and it had a great bark. I even got burnt ends with my order and I didn't even have to ask for them! They've got a fan for life. I also had the potato salad (some of the best I've had), and the smoked turkey. There is plenty of seating inside and outside in the back of the restaurant. It has such a cool vibe! Plenty of picnic tables with paper towels to clean your hands, and they've usually got live music playing on the weekends. Just an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. Went for lunch. It cost the 2 of us 47$ and we left hungry. We each got a meat plate, for 17$ which came with 2 sides. The brisket plate came with 2 slices of brisket, which were moist but tough, which required a fork and knife to cut through. The pork ribs came with 2 very small ribs, even less meat than the brisket. The sides were large but unflavorful and untraditional. No corn bread (or any bread at that), no baked beans, no creamed corn. We ended up each getting coleslaw which was fine. The potato salad was good, and I got a "chili lime corn salad" which seemed to be just a can of corn with cherry tomatoes and cucumbers in it; completely tasteless. I am an avid bbq enthusiast. Been to a good number of the Texas Monthly top 50 BBQ joints. Agape was a surprising find. I have been looking forward to trying it out for months. My friend and I ordered the moist brisket, sausage and ribs which is considered the "Holy Trinity". Brisket is up with the best I have ever had in my life, sausage was great and the ribs were great too. Sides were also excellent and we had the potato salad, cole slaw, beans and Mac and cheese. On top of it all, the pickles and picketed onions were super tasty. The pit boss, Jeremy, was very friendly and my friend and I spent a good amount of time talking to him. He talked about his bbq journey and how he started Agape BBQ. He showed us pictures of the original house that is now the restaurant, walked us to the outside area shared his plans for it and even led us to see his smoker! Great bbq, family feel, quaint restaurant and really nice people. My friend and I joked that we shouldn't tell anyone about this place for we have been going to Snow's for many years before it got very famous and we both agree this is the new best thing. What a find in Liberty Hill. We have made this our go-to barbecue place for take-out or eating there. The brisket is super moist and doesn't need sauce (our measure for good brisket). I was buying one container of them but it always became a battle between my wife battle and myself as to how many each of us would get so now get 2 containers of it.
