I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

More importantly, he also helped me avoid a gum surgery that could have cost me thousands of dollars down the line. Previously, my old dentist spotted an infection and referred me to an endodontist, who insisted I needed an apicoectomy (gum surgery) or an implant. I was shocked and distraught. At my consultation with Dr. Rosales, he carefully explained the risks of jumping into such an invasive procedure and offered thoughtful alternatives. His professional and caring bedside manner really put my anxiety at ease. Soon after, he consulted my case with an endodontist and came back with a meticulous treatment plan. The treatment involved a root canal, lots of whitening, and replacing my two discolored crowns. My new smile is truly transformed and I'm absolutely ELATED! I used to contemplate about getting full on veneers but my end result looks just as good if not better. Shout out to Dr. Rosales and his staff for making this gnarly treatment a breeze! I would gladly drive from LA to OC to continue coming here for all my dental needs.

The person was extremely pushy and then I just heard a voicemail telling us the office wanted to charge $75 if my husband didn't show up on Monday. The moment I called earlier this week and spoke to that Sarah person, it left a very bad feeling but now it solidified that it feels as though there is price gauging going on. When my husband finally called this office back, Sarah casually mentioned his deep cleaning procedure would cost $700+ and if we're fine with that? And then proceeded to rush my husband into agreeing to that appointment because "they already booked for two hours." Then after I said we will not be ready to pay $700+, Sarah said "well then you can do half." What in the world? It sounded beyond shady. The whole interaction was absurd and unprofessional. I may be filing a complaint with BBB because it was very unprofessional the way this was handled. Both my husband and I currently have dental insurance. My husband does need deep cleaning but we were going to a previous office that had him do a regular cleaning more often to have him avoid the need for deep cleaning. This person would not even let me get a word in and in the end I had to tell her "excuse me you need to stop being pushy and let me talk. We are going to cancel that appointment." The dentist was good on previous visits. Also, Lorena is excellent as well. This person just left a terrible taste in our mouth (no pun intended).
