Chips were the thicker type and crunchy with salsa that was really flavorful. No stale chips here! 5 star The salmon plate was good. The salmon was overcooked, but it had good seasoning. It was a generous portion. It was delicious with the guacamole salad that came with it. Would've been 5 stars if salmon weren't overcooked. The eggrolls were yummy and perfectly satisfy that snacky craving you get. They came out hot and outside was crisp. Filling was good with the slightest hint of a kick. I have always dismissed this place because it's in a high crime area, but I am glad I stopped in. It is in what obviously used to be a Denny's or maybe a Shoney's or some kind of diner attached to the motel. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu. They had Birria and other good dishes on the menu. I got the Birria once, and it was pretty good. I have since always gotten the tacos autenticos. They give you 4 fully loaded tacos, the tortillas are the larger kind not the street tacos kind. It also comes with limes and a tomatillo sauce. I am always so full when I am done with it. Came here for a quick bite to eat with my man for Valentine's Day since it's our last night in Nashville. The atmosphere wasn't too great alittle old looking and the service was mid not sure if the server was new but it seemed he was exhausted and over it and mixing things up. He was nice though and did what he could but that wasn't very professional. On the other hand the drinks were decent they had a 2x1 strawberry margarita for 10$ so we got that and I got the carne asada meal. I'm from Florida so the taste wasn't top tier like back home but it was decent just needed alittle more seasoning same with the rice and refried beans. The portions however were great! Cute little restaurant with a large parking lot. I was driving a 26' truck and was thankful that it wasn't busy so I was able to park with ease! It's very warm and comfortable inside, quite big too, and the staff are very polite and friendly. I knew instantly what I wanted when I saw the menu online (as carnitas is my favorite!!) and it came quite quickly. The carnitas was crisp and flavorful with a big side of rice and beans. Forgot to mention that the complimentary chips n salsa were great too and came right away. Can't beat the price for a sit down, authentic Mexican experience. If I weren't driving a big truck I would have ordered a margarita too! When I come back to Nashville, I'll be sure to come back! read more

I was in town for a conference and stayed at a near by hotel. The coworker that I was traveling with and she suggested Mexican and this place was a quick Uber ride. We were pleasantly greeted and escorted to a dining area to the left of the hostess stand. There was a really loud party of 4 that were seated there and was relieved when some police officers arrived for a meal and were seating in the same area bc the other group was pretty rowdy and I always think of it as a good sign and food is good if officers choose to eat there! Our server was efficient. I got a combo, with an enchilada, taco, rice and beans. The food was fine and reasonable priced. The shredded chicken in my taco and enchilada was pretty average. Feed me Mexican food and a Margarita, and I am one happy lady. I have dined at Agave's twice and have been pleased with the service and food quality. My party of three was greeted and seated immediately with a basket of warm tortilla chips and salsa. I usually would order a veggie taco salad, but I wanted to live a little dangerously. So, I ordered the shrimp tacos and a made-to-order (off-menu) passion fruit Margarita. O-M-G, I almost shed a tear with the first bite- it was that good. Ok so this place used to be another Mexican restaurant named Mazatlan and it was awful and maybe that's why they closed it. The new place is renovated and looking nicer and cleaner. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and the salsa and chips are on point. They have a wide variety of options for food so you can definitely find your favorites. They offer your normal fountain drinks and they also have the Mexican "aguas frescas". They just opened so they do not have their liquor license yet but management said they should have it at the end of the month. Waiting on the state to process their paperwork. They don't have a bar area or outside seating at the moment but management said they will be adding that soon as well. They do have TV's around the restaurant for this football season. I ordered from here off of Uber Eats for the first time. I got the steak fajitas, and I was really looking forward to juicy, big chunks of steak. Instead, it was just thinly shredded beef like the kind you get on a cheap philly cheese steak. There was maybe about 2 oz of meat in total and most of it was the veggies. Flavor was ok and the beans and rice side were bland and seemed to be like frozen meal quality. My expectations were just not met. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It probably is really good drunk food. I will say the guacamole was pretty good. It was fresh and chunky. I would have liked a bit more lime but the cilantro was perfect. read more

The food and atmosphere was wonderful! We ended up coming here 2 days in a row. The staff are so friendly and remembered us on the second night. Good came fast both days and tasted great! If you love margaritas, I definitely recommend the frozen blackberry! Our servers were great! We had Marcos on the first night and he was so friendly and went above and beyond answering questions and giving recommendations (thanks for the blackberry margarita recommendation Marcos) Brian was our server the second night and he was very polite. So what can distinguishes a Mexican Restaurant I wonder... how much the staff cares about what they're doing I'd say. So whether they're serving, cleaning, cooking or getting you to your seat, it's about how much they care I've noticed. This place cares. I went there with three other guys from work. We went during the busy lunch hour. The staff had zero issues. There was no long wait. The server was a sweet lady that cared about her role and showed it. The food was good. A manager (or maybe owner) was making rounds there to see if any customers were lacking anything. He stopped by our table twice when he noticed drinks were getting low. The server ensured we were good too. There were quite a few regulars seated around us. This is almost always a good sign. That was my take away from this place -the staff cares about what they're doing. I think Chick Fil A has figured that out really well. I'd say here, they've got it down too. I'm truly embarrassed to admit that I don't have any pictures of this place even though I have eaten here more than six times since being introduced to it by Soltek Pacific construction located just around the corner. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of San Diego and perhaps all of Southern California. You kind of have to discover the place, have someone send you there or as I did have someone take you. The walls are fully covered by,, I would guess, more than 5,000 bottles of Tequila and Agave blends. This last trip which prompted me to finally post a review was a trip when I introduced two business colleagues, one from Detroit Michigan and the other from Huntsville Alabama. The guy from Huntsville said "if I had a place like this close to where I live I would come every "F"ing week". I am a very big fan of the place, located over a liquor store specializing, in yes you guessed it, Tequila and other spirits But heavy on the former. If you can, sit outside on the deck. Meh. There was no one in the restaurant at 6pm so I was a tad uneasy. The place looked older and kind of dark. The salsa was so so, nothing special. I had a grilled chicken burrito and it was just some cut up chicken breast with some seasoning pan cooked. It wasn't fajita meat or grilled at all. The queso on top was good but that was about it. The rice had an off taste and the beans were definitely canned. My husband got the carne asada tacos which were in flour tortillas and he said they were decent. They do have huge portions and the price wasn't bad. I wouldn't come back. Being from Texas, I have yet to find decent Mexican food in Tennessee. Another bites the dust. read more

Tried to order on line and pick up my meal. I couldn't find the menu anywhere on line. So I saw their sister restaurant in Belle Mead menu kept popping up. So I called and ordered a Chicken Quesadilla meal. They asked me if U the anted shredded or pulled pieces of chicken. I chose the pulled. It was great. The restaurant was only a mile from where I was working. I found their facebook page prior to going to pick ip the food. I made a comment on the page that I couldnt find their menu. They said my meal would be ready when I arrived. It took 5 min to get there and when I walked in the manger was down loading the Menu to facebook not knowing I was the one who jad placed the order.
