Verdict: solid Mexican food right in our backyard. Can't go wrong with that. My wife, son, and I decided to check out Agave's, which recently relocated to Charlotte Park. We came early on a Thursday evening and it was dead inside but was picking up by the time we left. We were greeted immediately and seated in a booth. Our server quickly grabbed our order and brought out some chips, salsa, queso, and drinks. Salsa, chips, and queso were your standard Mexican fare. Honestly, for being in a new industrial building, it didn't give that feel inside. The decor was well done and made it feel like the restaurant had been there for ages. My wife got the fajitas Hawaiianas (great flavor, lots of meat) and I ordered the Chuy's special (kind of lacking in flavor), with the kids quesadillas for our son. Everything came out in short order and our server stopped by several times and got us extra tortillas. The portions were more than right for the price. They don't have their liquor license yet, so no margaritas, but they had several Mexican beers on tap! We'll definitely be back. read more

This place is a go to! We visited on a whim when family was in town and everyone was blown away. There's food parking out front, and as we walked in we were immediately seated with no delay. The interior is beautiful, and I love the staircase in the back that takes you down to additional seating. Service was fast, the menu was extensive, and everyone was very nice. I think this is priced well for the portions you get, and would definitely recommend the sangria margarita. Best one I've had! read more

We went to Agave and its predecessor, El Stuffed Pepper, for years. We were pleased to hear about the move to Robertson Road after the closure of the one on Harding Road. Agave has consistently excellent quality food. and their service is great. We have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The ease of parking in the lot without having to deal with paid parking is a huge plus. read more

On the plus side, it's a beautiful Mexican Restaurant. Good ambiance. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable; in line with similar restaurants. The one negative, but to me the most important, was the food. My mixed fajitas were below average. The chicken and steak was chopped into very small pieces, almost minced. I've never had fajitas prepared this way, and compared to the other 2 Mexican restaurants I visit frequently, there's no reason to return. Perhaps some of their other dishes are outstanding, but I always stick to fajitas. read more

This place is awesome! It looks small from the outside, but when you walk inside you'll see it's much bigger than you think. When you first enter there is a bar to the left. There's a family sitting area/cantina towards the back, and plenty of seating all around. It was very clean so I was impressed before I even ordered. I got two chicken and two carne asada tacos or the tacos Autentico's plate with a side of rice and beans to go. The server/bartender was helping and straight to the point with me when I asked for recommendations. Everything tasted amazing! I wish I would've gotten the chips when they were fresh out the oven, but the salsa was great! Everything was well seasoned, and tasted fresh. The inside of the restaurant is spacious with a welcoming atmosphere. They are quick to being you chips, salsa and water to the table. The food is not great. The chips are fresh and crisp, but the salsa is on the watery/mild side. The beef in the burrito I ordered was so salty it was almost inedible. Sauce and spices really lacking any flavor or punch. The presentation of the dish was sloppy too, I had a hard time even making out the burrito on the plate. They get an extra star for the attentive service. I would not recommend eating here though, as service only goes so far when what is being served is so mediocre. read more

i really wanted to like this place. upon arrival the atmosphere was not friendly. when i walked in the greeters/hostesses and the waiters that were around the bar just stared at me. it was like they were surprised to see an african american in their establishment. i had to speak first. big turn off. but i didn't want to read too much into it so i told them i needed to place a to go order. one greeter just stared and i was like do i go to the bar to place it?!! she said yes and i said to myself, " this is my first time here so how would i know?" anyway the bartender was somewhat friendly better than the rest of the. i place my order, pay and leave a tip mind you; i was raised to respect all workers so there's that. the wait for my food wasn't too long the bartender again was nice thanked me and i got my food and left. now as i was walking out the door two younger female hostesses thanked me so that made me happy and i thought to myself i'm tripping maybe i'm overthinking they might have just redeemed themselves. so i'm very optimistic now, if the food is awesome i'll be back!!! boy was i wrong!!!! i get to my vehicle i look at the supreme nachos and they look horrible. i asked for extra everything, when you get tomatoes on nachos they are usually diced right, tell me why did i have a half slice of tomato, a single half slice of tomato on the whole dish and the extra tomatoes i asked for were diced but they came in small side cup!!!! how did i get a half slice and diced tomatoes at the same dang time!!! i was livid!!!! why were my chips already soggy!!! they gave me a lot of lettuce though!!! the extra meat i asked for was flavorless.. ground beef flavorless!!! shredded chicken flavorless!! get this, the shredded chicken was not shredded all the way, there were still chucks of shredded chicken clumped together. it was like they just threw my meal together!!! horrible. i wasted my time, money, gas and everything else you can think of wasted!!! if there goal was for me to not return they got it. but word of mouth can break or make a restaurant and i will be telling everyone i know not to patronize this business!!!! i threw the whole dish away!!! never again!!! read more

This a new and improved version of the family Mexican restaurant that was in the Bellemeade shopping plaza just a few shops down. I loved that place. It was really small and crowded because it was very popular so it's nice to have some elbow room in the new posh location. When you walk in there is a nice sports bar for singles or people watching "the game" (whatever that means) Then you have a double decker auditorium of tables that can accommodate most of west Nashville at once! It's huge! And trust me they have that place filled on a Saturday night of a Sunday lunch. The difference is that we are all in a better mood because we don't have to wait as long to be seated and we can have more room in between tables. They have upgraded the menu items as well. Just added to it a bit. Same staples and favorites from the original menu just more to choose from. And you won't notice a price difference just because they have a higher rent to pay. They kept it affordable and nice. I would say go! Just go in the days that didn't get the memo so you can be served faster :) read more

It's what happens when you combine the soup broth (if you could call it that) with the veggies, meat and rice up front... all I tasted was cilantro and mush. But the service for to go was fast. The prices were fair and the service was absolutely great. The food was pretty good but the place was kinda dirty. We had silverware under our table from the last guests and food was all over the floor. Margarita's were weak and just tasted like mixer. I ordered the enchiladas supreme and ate all of it. Other people at my table didn't finish their food but didn't complain about it either. Agave's used to be called "El Stuffed Pepper". It was a little Mexican restaurant next to a cigar shop. It stunk, had bad lighting, and barely any room. They had great employees but needed a change. At the start of 2021 they moved to a new, way larger, play. It's about 100 feet to the left of the first restaurant. The new place is way better. They also have a bar! Food: The food is great but a bit lacking in flavor at times. The cheese dip is one of the best I've ever had. The menu isn't too big but has about 3 pages of different foods. The only weird part of the menu is that the desserts don't really match the "Mexican restaurant" feel. They have red velvet and chocolate cakes which I have never seen at any other Mexican restaurant. The room that it is in is massive. The social distancing is very nice. The employees are great. The lighting and decoration add so much to the restaurant's feel. I would definitely go back. They have some tv's so eating alone would be boring. If you're in the area, you should definitely come. read more

The service was friendly and efficient. Our food arrived so quickly that our drinks arrived 5 minutes after the food. The food was almost more like cafeteria food than a good Mexican restaurant food should be. It was bland, with almost no seasoning. The guacamole was run through a food processor and had no flavor. The ambiance was too institutional, wide open large long spaces with a lot of noise and too bright lighting. We only went here because it was highly rated on Yelp, even listed as one of the top Mexican restaurants, I'm not sure why or if people got free meals in exchange for a good review. read more

Hard to find breakfast spots that aren't crowded, but this newcomer to Belle Meade is a great addition, and it's BIG with lots of seating, so no wait. Friendly, fast service. Menu for both the gringo and lover of authentic Mexican food. We had chilaquilas with carne asada, which were perfectly prepared. Mexican coffee, unsweet but with cinnamon, was made extra special with the small pitcher of steamed milk served with it. Biscuits served as a free app were not worthy of the calories though, and I'd like to see some other breakfast burrito options. Retried beans also were done well. read more

My wife and I just left. Super dead with multiple employees on their phones in booths. We were given menus, chips and salsa, waters pretty much instantly; all greats signs for a quick bite. We didn't order as soon as they sat the menus down, and were left to ourselves. About 20 minutes go by and no one has said another word to us as multiple employees walk by without looking at us. Would have loved to grab someone, but apparently we were giving quarantined table. Will probably be back to try it again, I've been in tip share serving before and not being sure who's taking care of what table when it gets to an end of a shift; if it's a better experience I'll change my review then. read more
