Absolutely love this place. We go for the good comfort food, for the good 2 for $6 margaritas (or even when they're $6 each)... and for the wonderful staff. We've gone there so many times, they know us by now haha I'm ok with that!! Food is fast and hot and very good. I'm torn on giving this restaurant a 3. Here's the deal, I eat Mexican cuisine a lot. This has the best salsa by far in my opinion. Love the homemade recipe they have here. Just the right amount of heat and cilantro. The food is always seasoned amazing and I would say it would be my first pick of Mexican food on my side of town. But..... The annoying part...the service is always so slow. No matter if you are the only person in the restaurant or there's 15 people seated, you are treated with the same urgency--which is no urgency at all. You will sit there and wait for service which is super frustrating. The ambience is also a drag in there. I feel even when I want to go there to enjoy the delicious salsa and food, it's hard to get in the mind set to go in there if it's a pretty day outside. There's no windows at all besides the front door, which provides the only natural light. On a beautiful spring day, this is such a damper on the mood to be sitting in what feels like a dark cave. In comparison to Cilantro (main frame of reference) the bar doesn't have as many options, and the decor is more dated, which is fine. Let's focus on the limeade with the lowest budget tequila abomination that is the house Margarita. If you like lime skittles and cleaning products this is the drink for you! I tried to move up to their top shelf Margarita, where you can choose your own tequila. Sitting at the bar I watched as he reached for the house window cleaner (their well brand) "excuse me sir, the description said I could choose a tequila" "oh, you don't want the house?" (Sigh). He proceeded to pour a myriad of unnecessary crap ingredients to produce a god awful concoction that resulted in a talk with the manager, who made an okay replacement margarita and then proceeded to charge me $24 for a drink the waiter said was $12. There were arguments and I paid and put this embarrassing excuse of a restaurant behind me. Nashville has some great Mexican restaurants with amazing food and wonderful margaritas. If I could leave a negative review I would. The food is HORRIBLE. But what's worst is the MANAGEMENT. The owner is so rude and inconsiderate. The floor was disgusting and multiple people slipped and fell and he didn't come up to them to apologize at all and only claimed "he didn't know" even though his own employees and patrons made it very known to him and everyone in the restaurant. Met friends for dinner. Jose takes good care of you here. I don't even remember what I got because I was more involved with spending Valentines day dinner with friends. (I am a third wheel) and it was nice. I do remember they were cheese enchiladas with onion and cilantro. I asked that chorizo be added to it at the recommendation of a friend and the result was delicious. I didn't partake in the drinks but they looked good. I was the sober ride. I love deviating from the standard Tex-Mex and this place - has lots of alternatives on the menu (of which I can't remember LOL) Overall a good experience. I recommend. How I long for the Tex-Mex of my youth; my innocent life as a south Texas teenage punk rocker sitting in a numbered taqueria. Las Fiestas Cafe is a relatively new Mexican joint on the East Side that moved into the location formerly occupied by Cat's Music and Smiley's Soul Food Cafe. While there is a plethora of good Mexican places in the neighborhood (El Jalicience quickly becoming my favorite), Las Fiestas has been recommended most often for breakfast. There are few things in the world that get me as excited as a breakfast burrito (one of the worlds most perfect foods as far as I'm concerned) so I knew I was going to have to check this place out. The decor is "meh" at best. It looks like they picked up their dining sets from an old hotel that was letting go of their continental breakfast area. We went on a Sunday morning and the place was empty. For most of our dining experience We were the only people in the restaurant. And let me take a guess at why: They were BLASTING TV preacher Joel Osteen on the two large screen TVs. In addition to the unwanted religion I was getting with my burrito, they were playing salsa music over the televised church service. I'm all about mashups, but this was downright annoying. If I wanted to hear a sermon, I would spend my Sunday morning in church. I wanted a burrito, which has nothing to do with Christianity in the slightest. My one major recommendation for this restaurant would be to show sports/music videos on the TVs on MUTE, and play the salsa music in the background. We started out with our morning coffee. It was fresh, but unremarkable. It tasted very much like typical bottom-less cup diner coffee.But we were there for the burritos, and boy did we get them. Las Fiestas' breakfast menu is pretty traditional American/Southern stuff, with the exception of the Burrito Loco. The Loco is filled with eggs, your choice of chorizo, bacon or beef, topped with pico and queso. Since I'm not a big queso fan, I asked for salsa verde instead. This burrito was MASSIVE, filling, and very tasty. For the price, you can't really beat this breakfast. Let's also talk about their home fry potatoes- possibly my favorite thing at this place. They are half circles cut thin and pan fried until almost crispy and dusted with a great mix of spices. These little slices of heaven tasted really good dipped in my leftover salsa verde. By the time we were finished eating, Reverend Osteen finished his programming and was replaced with an informercial on skin cream- which was also at full volume and not shut off. Overall, breakfast at Las Fiestas Cafe is pretty darn good, if only they would at least shut off sound on the TV. read more

After living in East Nashville for 4 years, I am over Las Maracas. We decided to branch out. The staff is always so kind and the food is yummy at Las Fiestas. I would say they do not have as good of Happy Hour specials as some other establishments, but the food and the crowd is worth the price difference. Absolutely delicious food with a large menu to choose from that thankfully doesn't just offer the same staples as every other Mexican restaurant does. The ambiance is a little loud sometimes because of their high ceilings and open dinning room and so we usually order out but have dinned in a handful of times. The service is friendly and prompt, and the host is always ready to shoot the breeze while you wait to be seated or pick up your food. The margaritas are fresh and strong and they usually have a local beer on tap which is always a plus. Definitely the most authentic Mexican food in the East Nashville/Inglewood area. read more

i went to Las Fiestas on a sunday afternoon. it was busy but, no wait. that's always a win! my friend & i werent greeted as we walked in and found our own spot to sit. quickly we were served with drinks and chips. the chips were cold & definitely not traditional, very americanized. the salsa wasn't homemade. you could tell it was poured straight from a can. we quickly ordered. ordered queso & never received it. our waiter never came back or even looked at us so we could tell him he forgot our queso. our food came out, i got chicken fajitas - they were very good. but...still, took another 10 minutes to get queso. & he charged us for it. which i didn't think he wouldn't but, it would've been nice. especially when i made it very clear that he forgot it. i might go again but, hoping for a better time. read more
