Seems weird to write a review about a business when I only came into contact with them involuntarily because of my expired registration (my fault, obviously, not theirs), but the guy who was able to tow my car to my driveway was very kind, drove safely, took thorough pics or video (I couldn't tell which) of my car's condition prior to putting it on the truck. I also appreciated the clean cab and good A/C on a hot day, and it's nice that they have modern technology for taking payment so I got the receipt texted to me immediately. If I ever need a tow that is not mandated by the police, I would call them! I'm not sure the name of the guy who I dealt with, but thank you for being so nice to me! read more

My daughter was in accident on 93N on Mother's Day and State Police called Stephens Towing to remove our totaled car. Everyone, including a driver/employee that helped me secure parking at the busy location when all spots were taken, were super helpful in answering all our questions via email/phone call as well as in person, making the overwhelming process easy and smooth. These guys towed my car to their lot on account of my expired registration. My fault... but I was still pretty mad when I arrived at Stephens Automotive Transport. While I did try to keep my anger in check, I was actually impressed with how personable they all were there. No schadenfreude on their end; rather what seemed to be a genuine desire to help me clear up my mess quickly and as cheaply as possible.... which I appreciated. The personalities and overall demeanors of the 3 employees I came in contact with were rude and argumentative.

My parents cars were towed while they were out of town due to street cleaning on a Saturday which they were unaware of. Lesson learned, but the way in which the worker spoke to my dad whom doesn't speak English was degrading. My sister was on the phone translating and the tone they use is disgusting as if you weren't going to get their money regardless. It's 2024, you'd think people have more common sense in regards to customer service but clearly this place isn't one of those you should go to unless you want to be looked down upon because of your race. read more

Stephen's towed my car to their "car jail". This was my first experience being towed and definitely will be my last. The employee at Stephen's that I dealt with was very polite and completely reasonable. He listened patiently to my alibi and even gave me an opportunity to try to prove my tow was an error but in the end the camera footage was hard to contest. Lesson learned- never return to the 2 hour restricted parking on the same day and park in the same spot. I still had to pay the $143 but I think it went as well as a unexpected tow possibly could. read more

Had a small accident this morning where I slid and hit the curb in the rain on route 16. I was in the middle of the road blocking everyone. Called the police and they sent out Stephen's to help tow the car. Zack had the car lifted up and was towing within seconds of arriving and we took it to a nearby parking lot to inspect the damage before continuing to the auto dealer. Zack was really friendly and helpful, probably the best tow truck driver I've ever dealt with. DO NOT USE STEPHENS TOWING!!! If you're in need of towing in the Medford, Everett, Malden area, use RIGANOS TOWING!!! RIGANOS were so polite, compassionate efficient and inexpensive. I was forced to use Stephens towing and these horrible people were rude beyond belief, in fact they bullied and threatened me. They are also archaic. I did not have my credit card on me but have memorized the numbers and info and had all my details in my iPhone. They refused to write down my credit card details and insisted I had to either give them my phone, which was the only means of being in touch with my husband to plan how I'm getting home etc., or they would tow my car to their store and not where I wanted to be towed with an extra charge. I asked how am I supposed to be in touch with my husband and organize what I'm going to do if they take my phone and their response was "USE A PAY PHONE". Hey, Stephens Automotive Transport, it's 2019, pay phones don't exist anymore, and have you heard, you can buy anything over the phone and internet by just entering your credit card numbers. I was towed from a highway back on April 17th. The driver was kind of brush, but that's not what prompted me to write this review. The problem was that he was texting obsessively while driving all the way to the hotel , which was over 7 miles away (including while driving on the highway). And I had my 4-year-old on my lap in the front seat... I think the only reason why I didn't say anything to him about that was that I was still shell-shocked from getting stuck in a bad spot on the highway with the child. He also told me AAA will reimburse me for the tow's $165 bill, which they have not, since I have a basic membership with 3 mile limit; but I can understand that he did not know that. The texting was unprofessional though and actually dangerous. Scam artist company! We parked in front of the Medford Starbucks in a parking spot that has no sign in front of it and there were no signs visible from the parking spot that said, "No parking." There was nothing anywhere to give us the impression that we should not park where we parked. This unscrupulous company towed our car. The owner was rude and cocky. We are filing a complaint with the police department and any other agency we need to tomorrow. We are respected in the community and sell ballistics to law enforcement in this area. This company is an absolute scam. The people that work at the Starbucks said that this company is known for running a scam out of that parking lot and that they make thousands off of innocent people because their signs cannot be seen and then they tow cars of unsuspecting people even the cars of the employees who work there. read more

No one likes to get their car towed. I parked in the wrong place in the most recent snowstorm. It wasn't a happy way to start my day, but I owned my mistake and walked to reclaim my car. There was a small issue in that they don't open until 8am, which I found out at 730 when I arrived. They accept cash only, which I found out was because they have had people come in, pay with credit card, and immediately dispute the charge. They were entirely professional and respectful to me, I also went in with a calm demeanor. It came to $130. The ATM there charges a $3 fee. For a towing experience it wasn't bad. read more

These guys have very poor business practices. Charged me hundreds of dollars to tow my car 5 blocks and then asked for another 100 when I went to pick it up. I didn't even ask for the tow, which occurred after an accident. Charged 25 dollars to disconnect my battery, which is mandatory for the tow yard. One of the managers actually called the guy in the tow yard to tell him to charge me more after I had a conversation with the manager. I never thought I would ever say that I had a pleasant experience having my car towed until last Friday when Sossio (BEST DRIVER EVER) showed up! Very early last Friday morning I drove into a pothole which resulted in a flat tire. It was 2am, cold, dark and I was on a busy highway. Sossio arrived very quickly and was extremely helpful from the second he got out of his truck. I have a newer car and was worried it may get damaged by being towed. He was VERY considerate and careful when getting my car both on and off of the truck, causing absolutely no damage. Sassio was friendly, made me feel comfortable, and made sure that both myself and my car got to where we needed to be safely. In addition to the above, the next morning I could not find my debit card. Sassio, as well as the other employees were extremely helpful and searched the trucks for me. They answered the phone promptly, confirmed that they had my vehicle, and the entire process of getting my car back took ten minutes tops. Actually, it would've taken even less time if the chick in front of me wasn't trying to get a discount (A for effort, but c'mon). The total came out to $126.08, which is a pretty standard price. I parked in the wrong parking spot at my condo complex, and was towed by the next morning - my fault, but they're just doing their job. I'm out $150 (they were completely inflexible about the fees charged) but I was able to pick up my car at 1 AM, it was in fine condition, and the folks at Stephens were very approachable and understanding. When we showed the ticket was on the dashboard under the shady part of windshield, they would not accept it and made us pay $130 cash for the tow. When we came back my mothers car was gone. We thought it was stolen. Until a parking attendant told us it got towed. So we had to pay for a cab to go to this tow yard. Our first question was why did you tow our car and they said we didnt have a parking permit which we did then their other excuse was that the parking permit wasnt visible which it was. So we had to pay the $200 dollars to get our car back. My mom then went on to email the station and the manager said he would reimburse us. Trying to survive my first harsh New England winter has been... an experience. When my car wouldn't start in the crazy cold, I decided to leave it parked on the street. (Brilliant). First, we were made to stand outside for almost 5 minutes waiting for someone to answer the bell (it was 3 in the afternoon). Once inside, the woman behind the counter was rude beyond belief, she would barely answer our questions and walked off in the middle of the transaction to carry on a phone conversation. The next person who tried to help us randomly switched to another person halfway through the interaction. We were charged 30 dollars more than we were quoted despite having been very specific about when we would be coming to pick up the car. I had another car towed that same day due to street sweeping and was charged a full 100 less at the other place. This place is the absolute worse. We got towed off of the wellington parking lot. I thought we pay when we leave, and didn't notice the new pay station on the right. We had friends in town and went downtown to spend the day at the aquarium. When we got back, both of our cars were towed. I had a 5 month year old baby in the hot sun in the middle of the parking lot, and we couldn't reach anyone. The number they give you is to the LAZ parking company and they had to "page" someone. They couldn't even give me the direct number. I explained I had a baby with me in teh hot sun, but they didnt care. 138 for each vehicle towed and only took cash. What a fraud. Total pompous jerks. My car was towed from assembly row (advertised as FREE PARKING) less than 15 minutes after I parked it. Discovered my car was missing, could not recall seeing any signs warning of the possibility of being towed, but wandered all the way around the huge lot and finally found one. ONE sign, which must have gone up today as I am certain it was not there previously. Called them and the guy who answered was an ass to me. Just not a nice person at all. Had the same experience when I got there and paid them. Guy was a total jerk. Tried to not give me a receipt; only gave me a one when I asked and haughtily laughed when I pointed out that the driver didn't sign it (yet I was forced to sign it). Asked my address and I asked him why it was needed, his answer was I need to write it down here. Sorry but that doesn't explain WHY you need it. I said "just use the one on my license" and after he started writing it down he said "fine, I'll just call the cops and get it from them". So unpleasant and full of himself. Sorry I'm not bursting with happiness after coming home from a long day of work (where yes, I DO legally pay 33% of my income in taxes --- something I am sure Stevens Automotive does NOT do) to discover my car missing.
